  1. What language do you want- is it one that is not available? You have to modify both the skin and the .xus in the media/locale folder.
  2. Phoenix has released version 0.2b of Aurora, check it out: Aurora info and download
  3. Aurora 0.2b Is Here! We have put a lot of work into this release. While the primary goal was to continue to fill out the game details scene with the disabled items, we did manage to include a few new options and changes that hopefully you all will find useful. Below, We've outlined the additions, changes, deletions, and fixes. Take a look and please enjoy! New Scenes: DLC Browser - This scene will allow you to browse your DLC for your retail games and delete DLC if desired. Additionally, if you browse DLC for any titles that are under the ScriptData = "Emulators" it will display a list of roms for that emulator. There are going to be some assumptions in the this first iterations of the the ROM Browser, such as your roms being in a subfolder called "Roms" in the particular title's folder. We've also added the ability to set launch data for ROMs- this means you can press (A) on a ROM and it'll launch the emulator with launch data set- it'll be up to the emulator authors to support direct loading ROMS from there. Saved Game Browser - This scene will allow you to browse your Saved Games and delete them if desired. Not much more to do at this point, but is at least a little bit of management in that area. Preview - This scene will allow you to browse through the screenshots downloaded during the Content Scan process. It will also allow you to play the trailer that was downloaded, if available. Note: To play all trailers you will need the Optional Media Update. Click here for installation directions. Achievements - This scene will allow you to browse through the achievements that the signed in profile has unlocked. Secret achievement description can be revealed at the push of a button. Not much else to do, but a good way to check your progress in a game. Synopsis - When the game description is longer than the viewable space in the game details scene a new button will show up to the bottom right of the synopsis to allow you to open a viewer of the synopsis. This will allow you to scroll through and read all of the details. Overscan - This scene will allow users to adjust their overscan from within the dash without having to modify the database. Changes Unity Username and Unity Password will change from profile specific to system specific. ( You will have to reset this up after booting for the first time) Addition of a "Updates are Available" notification at boot of Aurora, if new updates are available (can be disabled by modifying database) Support accents and special chars in Unity Username field (and other text fields) Fixed rendering bugs that can occur with custom Coverflow layouts Fixed TUs not saving to USBMU and consequently not applying correctly Added wallpaper shader. This is basically a configurable Pixel shader that allows you to warp and animate the background ( there are still issues with it when using it in conjunction with overscan- these will be resolved in a future release ) Fixed bug in FTP Server that kept you from browsing to the Game: folder has been fixed Reversed the TiltLeft and TiltRight motions in some coverflow layouts Added new subtitle LUA script to give show achievement information in the Game Details Fixed issue with Downloading status not showing the proper queue size Fixed issue where XNA game titles were receiving 'FULL TITLE' in the title name Fixed formatting issue with FTP 'FEAT' command causing it to not work properly with some FTP clients Added FTP 'SITE' commands: STORAGEINFO, DRIVEBYTESFREE, RESTART, REBOOT, SHUTDOWN, MEMORYINFO. Use command 'HELP SITE' for description and usage information Added support for OnBoardMU for corona systems- not sure how we missed this originally Added Flock by Phoenix coverflow layout Added Lazy Stacks by Swizzy coverflow layout Added Spiral Stack by Swizzy coverflow layout Fixed UTF8 encoding issues in multiple places Changed the way custom user filters were stored allowing users to more easily share scripts. Created same method to share scripts for sort scripts and subtitle scripts as well Added ability to view game background while in the game details scene by pressing the Back Button Fixed issue where DLC would get scanned during the TU scan at boot. Fixed other minor skin glitches and logic bugs Supported Languages The following is a list of translations available in this next release. If you have a language that is supported and not already completed that you would like to translate for us, please contact Swizzy on these forums. English - Default Language German - Translated by Dr.Gonzo French - Translated by Nordsudteam Spanish - Translated by Gromber Italian - Translated by MatteIta Portuguese - Translated by SpkLeader Polish - Translated by Przemysław Kołodziejczyk Russian - Translated by Cosmaty Swedish - Translated by Swizzy Turkish - Translated by Saywaking Dutch - Translated by Mattie Future Updates There is still a lot we would like to do with this dash and this most recent update has proven to us that our foundation is strong. In the future we want to bring you more functionality to further solidify its place as the definitive dash alternate for the Xbox 360. We are working on things like a file manager, quick view options, title specific settings, and more- stay tuned and enjoy! Thanks: Thanks for helping us test our new dash replacement and look forward to bringing even more functionality in the future. Special thanks goes to SpkLeader, Swizzy, Trajik, coz, Jpizzle, Blackwolf and Biohazard for their behind the scenes involvement and assistance in testing and preparing this package Support: Please post bugs in the support forum. 4. It'll be out relatively soon. Stay tuned.
  5. Looks like your database became damaged due to restarting- have you tried erasing your Aurora installation and starting fresh- without rebooting at all?
  6. I like that idea- i will work on implementing it in some form.
  7. Aurora and Freestyle Plugin are different projects.
  8. Hello everyone! Just wanted to provide everyone with a little sneak peak of what we are working on for 0.2A of Aurora. The primary focus in this update will be to continue to fill out the "Not Implemented" portions of the dash including the following: New Scenes: DLC Browser - This scene will allow you to browse your DLC for your retail games and delete DLC if desired. We've also added the ability to set launch data for ROMs- this means you can press (A) on a rom and it'll launch the emulator with laucnh data set- it'll be up to the emulator authors to support direct loading roms from there. This scene should let you view these assets in either full screen and/or slide show format. Achievements - This scene will allow you to browse through the achievements that the signed in profile has unlocked. Not much else to do, but a good way to check your progress in a game. Overscan - This scene will allow users to adjust their overscan from within the dash without having to modify the database. Changes Unity Username and Unity Password will change from profile specific to system specific. Addition of a "Updates are Available" notification at boot of Aurora, if new updates are available Support accents and special chars in Unity Username field (and other text fields) Fix misc. bugs and issues we found through out. Stay tuned for the upcoming release- it is still a little ways out, but is being worked on. Thanks for helping us test our new dash replacement and look forward to bringing more functionality in the future. Note: The above list is our current target- if something is missing during the release of 0.2 that was listed above- then something happened and it wasn't quite ready for release. Thanks!
  9. This might be related to the other thread with hte DLC issue- we are looking into it. If your TUs are being downloaded to USB- try switching them to your HDD1 or OnboardMU and see if that solves it. Let us know- thanks.
  10. I just tested with a GOD game with the path having a space in it and it scanned fine- will need you to try to dig up some more information on your end. Maybe give us your databases, your debug logs after trying to do a fresh scan- etc. Thanks.
  11. I will test this on my end with spaces in the folder names for God Games- Can you confirm that it is ONLY GOD games that have spaces in the path that don't appear- You can confirm by changing the path to have no space and see if it then shows up.
  12. We will look into it- maybe when Aurora does the path check it is associated with the wrong mount point.
  13. When you say DLC- are you referring to title updates or are you referring to things like guitar hero music, map packs and expansions?
  14. Hitting the Freestyle Home button should return you to Aurora if you loaded the Freestyle Plugin with Aurora- its only text. The Freestyle Home button returns to whatever program loaded the plugin. This will be the case of Aurora, Freestyle 3, or whatever program in the future comes out that loads Freestyle Plugin.
  15. Background downloading is not a bad idea in general- and we already implemented a HttpClient in FSDPlugin - which is how LiNK currnetly works. But to answer your question- downloading isn't persistent strictly because of resources available. Yeah, of course Microsoft implements background downloading- but they also have the full amount of kernel/xam space they need to work with it. Anything we add is strictly OVER AND ABOVE what Microsoft included. We don't get those resources back because we happen to not be able to use them. Downloading TUs and artwork are doable if we download directly to disk; however we dont have the resources to implement a full SQLite library in the plugin; so we won't be able to update our database- that means we need to download to a cache folder and rescan that cache at aurora boot to make sure the database gets updated. This means we have to interrupt a download because once its alraedy started somewhere, we have to cancel, move and relocate it. Personally, I can see about 10 other features that would be time better spent on Thanks for the input for sure- we are always reading and always thinking about your ideas.
  16. Ultimately, the only TUs that are duplicated are the ones that are active- and the functionality that we are able to provide with our TU Management (ie, deleting, downloading, activating, easy switching, etc) is possible because we have a TU cache on your drive. So with that, I don't see it changing. If you are concerned about space- make sure to delete any Installed TUs that you are not using. If you go from TU#17 to TU#18, after downloading TU#18, just delete TU#17 and that won't be consuming space. In the future we intend to add a mode where we allow Aurora to take full control of the TUs on your system to allow deeper management- maybe at that time we will allow users to disable TU management all together if they want to handle it on their own.
  17. Download files are converted to a format designed for near instantaneous loading- part of how we are able to make things so fast. I don't know that you will be able to manually download images and import them at this time. Someone may come up with a tool that can do it for you- like they did for F3; but right now, in the alpha, it seems like you are out of luck.
  18. When Aurora boots up it scans all the possible valid TU locations on your connected devices. If it finds a TU, it adds it to the database and makes a backup copy in the Aurora\Data\TitleUpdates folder. The next time Aurora boots, it does the scan again- it attempts to add it to the database- but it already exists, so it ignores it. When you download a TU from within Aurora, it downloads directly to the backup cache and makes an entry in the data base using the selected device information you set prior to downloading the TU. When launching a game, Aurora loops through all of the entries of scanned TUs in the database and finds where they should exist- and deletes them. Then it copies the "active" TU from the backup cache into the proper place. That's how a TU becomes activated. Not sure what you're looking for but hope that helps make the process more clear.
  19. The better question is- do these emulators support command line launching? What makes this hard is that every emulator uses a different launching method and its no fun to hard code launch parameters into Aurora when the next emulator could come around and just change things again. Perhaps someone could write an intermediate app that accepts a file path for a ROM as LaunchData and it somehow knows what emulator to launch (perhaps through a configured settings.ini ). If that existed, then we could incorporate something that has a uniform launching pattern- making it much easier to implement. If anyone out there wants to tackle that, we are willing to work with you in getting the parameters how we would like to see them.
  20. The ability to hide games already exists- may suggest poking around a little more than you already have.
  21. We are using Lua 5.2 as our base, so it should support all of the functionality in that library. However, I am a little unclear on what you are trying to do- individual filters are independent of each other as far as Aurora is concerned. This means that for any particular filter, it can't know if any other filters are active. The best way to solve your problem is to create a new filter function called Xbox360AndXBLA and have the function check if the content type is either xbox 360 or xbla and return true if so, other wise false. Unfortunately, I am too busy to teach everyone lua- so you'll definitely have to do your own research to figure it out, or ask around on the forums if someone else was able to pull it off. Also please check out this scripting thread for more information: Scripting How-To Good luck and enjoy!
  22. As far as Aurora 0.1a.1 goes, we only plan to support the languages available through the official dash. At a later date in a future version, we might come up with a good way to support and change more languages; however, the EN-US.xml file is going to change a lot by then, so translating now won't do you much good.
  23. Hello, I am releasing the Aurora Translation Helper by SpkLeader for use in translating Aurora 0.1a.1. Aurora 0.1a.1 Translation Helper by SpkLeader About: This batch file was put together in an effort to make the translation process much easier. To use this file, follow these steps: Steps: 1) Copy "xuipkg.exe", "resxloc.exe" and "resx2bin.exe" files from your Xbox 360 SDK into the /Bin folder. 2) Copy the Aurora 0.1a.1 skin file "default.xzp" into the /Skins folder. 3) Rename the 'EN-US.xml' file to one of the supported langauge codes below (ex. 'PT-BR.xml' for Portuguese) 4) Translate all of the strings in the xml file to the appropriate language 5) Run 'translate.cmd' 6) After running translate.cmd, a /Final folder will be created containing the new files. 7) Copy all of the /Final folder into your root Aurora directory on your xbox. 8) Test your translation running in the dash for cut off strings 9) PM your completed XML to MaesterRowen on www.realmodscene.com to have it reviewed and included in upcoming language updates. Notes: If you have your language complete, you can either share your XML on the forums and/or submit them to Phoenix so that they can be included in as an official release update. Phoenix will not accept modifications to Default.xzp (skin) as part of your translation. Strings must be translated to fit within the space allowed. Aurora's default skin is designed around a consistent look and changing margins and padding is something that we want to avoid. As of Aurora 0.1a.1, please refer to the list of supported languages below to see what languages are available for translation. The ones that have been completed and accepted by Phoenix and are either already included or will be included in next update have been marked.Supported Languages: "en-US", // English (included since always) "ja-JP", // Japanese "de-DE", // German (included since 0.1a1) "fr-FR", // French (included since 0.1a1) "es-ES", // Spanish (included since 0.1a1) "it-IT", // Italian (included since 0.1a1) "ko-KR", // Korean "zh-CHT", // Traditional Chinese "pt-BR", // Portuguese (included since 0.1a1) "pl-PL", // Polish (included since 0.2b) "ru-RU", // Russian (included since 0.2b) "sv-SE", // Swedish (included since 0.2b) "tr-TR", // Turkish (included since 0.1a1) "nb-NO", // Norwegian "nl-NL", // Dutch (included since 0.2b) "zh-CHS" // Simplified Chinese (will be included in 0.3b) Thanks!
