  1. Dashlaunch has an order of devices that it searches for the launch.ini file. It will load the version off of the flash drive first, then off the hdd if it cant find one on the flash drive, so by putting a fresh launch.ini, and copy of aurora on a usb drive, and configuring the default path in that launch.ini to point to the version of aurora on the flash drive, then you will have something you can test with to see if it is an issue with the aurora install, or with the nand image. By doing this, it gives you an idea of what might be causing the problem.
  2. Not so sure I would call english a great language. That being said, I would try to reflash the nand, if installing dashlaunch didnt fix the issue. On top of that, there could be an issue with the aurora install, which I cant say without the debug log in the aurora folder. You can test this therory by putting a launch.ini, and a copy of aurora on a USB drive, and see if you can load that version. You will need to set the path in the launch.ini to point to USB, instead of HDD, but it should work, if not, you probably corrupted something in the nand.
  3. Asking for help repeatedly doesnt actually help. the current dev on the project is looking into the issue, and also has a life on top of this project. It might be months before the problem is fixed, assuming it isnt a configuration issue for the game, because first the dev has to get those games, then recreate the bug, then track it down, then work out a fix, that doesnt cause issues for the other games as well. Writing code is a tricky business. Think of it like a giant puzzle that is missing all of the pieces, that you then have to create. and that is assuming you are starting from scratch. if you are working on a port of a port, then it is like having a half built puzzle, that then needs to be fixed, and also have a bunch of missing pieces recreated. Lesson here: be patient.
  4. This might be because of dashlaunch, but have you tried putting dashlaunch installer on the root of a USB drive renamed to default.xex? if not try it, plug it into the console, and turn it on. If all goes well, it should boot into the dashlaunch installer, which will prompt you to reinstall dashlaunch. If that doesnt work, you can create a god container for it, and install it into the content folder of your USB, or assuming your console isnt a 4GB corona, you could dump the nand, create a new image with dashlaunch installed, and flash it with xell.
  5. Survey finished, hope it helps. I dont play video games like I used to, but when I was in college, pretty much every day in the computer lab, we were playing Unreal Tournament during class, and I graduated with a 3.75GPA. Then again, I had a propensity for what I went to school for to begin with, and was bored in 90% of my classes.
  6. You can create a theme, or coverflow script that hides the coverflow. Then all you need to do is hit x, and it will bring up a list of games. Maybe in the future, you could get more of an NXE feel with themes, but aurora wasnt designed for that.
  7. Two questions. if you have the fuses, does xell report the DVD_KEY? if so, and you want to create a retail image from the nand on the console, which I am assuming is either RGH/JTAG, or ECC image. If this is the case, first you will want to load up the file you dumped off of the nand, and dump the files from it. You will then need the kv_dec.bin renamed to KV.bin, the FCRT.bin(if your console has this), and the clean SMC for your console(Should be provided above). Put these files in the xebuild folder. Now, load up the image that is included, and create xebuild image for the console. Dont forget to set LDV to fuses, and build for a retail image that uses the CB that the CPU is expecting. Assuming the KV is the original, and not banned, the console should boot, and play on live. if the KV is not original, you will never get it to be a retail console again, and if it is banned, it wont play on live again.
  8. I think the server doesnt like hotmail accounts for some reason. maybe hotmail blocks it. I would fix it for you, but I dont have that kind of access to Xbox Unity servers. You will have to wait for one of the admins who also has the same access on unity.
  9. If you ask me, Aurora feels more like a dashboard than FSD did. FSD had a lot of issues, and felt over-developed to me. Personally, I like where the team is going with Aurora. You can set up quick views, which are user configurable combinations of sorting scripts, and get the "feel", probably a bad choice of words, of FSD back, such as sorting out emulators, vs xbox 360 game. As for the main theme, I personally like to edit the DB manually, and add the multi disc filter to the default quick view, but that is just me, and is harder than setting up a new default quick view. Also, if you have more than 100 games, the load difference is really noticeable.
  10. If you want to convert god games to extracted games, you can use GOD2ISO to convert it to ISO image, then use a tool like extract-XISO(https://github.com/timonier/extract-xiso) to extract the xex, and all files from that image. Personally, I would hold off, as this process wont be needed in the future, as there is a new feature that will allow you to do this much easier, but I cant go into details of what it is, or how it works at the moment.
  11. No one is going to help you get apps, even free ones on this site. It is still piracy, which we dont support. Now, I know what you are thinking, someone released the netflix app on this site. Yes, you are right, and we let it slide, since it is a free app, but if every thing that people requested got posted on this site, then we would all start getting in trouble sooner rather than later. Also, different countries have different laws, about what is legal, and what isnt. That being said, we try to toe the line. Sure Freeboot, isnt technically legal, neither is aurora, or FSD, or any of that stuff, it is different, as that was written by the community, and shared. We dont release microsofts code, or the XDK, with the apps. All that xebuild does is patch the code, that you get from microsoft, and then build an encrypted image with the patched versions of the code. It is more of a grey area in most countries. It has been brought up before, to have a free app store included in aurora, but as long as xbox live is still working on the 360, it probably wont happen. Best bet is to download it using a retail xbox, or to install a dual nand.
  12. CPU_PLL_BYPASS is the yellow wire. I am not familiar with that chip, but jaspers were notorious for needing the cleaner so they didnt freeze and booted stably.
  13. Not sure which type of console you have, but it might not be a hdd problem at all. Some falcons, and jaspers have issues using the stock SMC power config options with RGH. Just google falcon freeze fix. I have also had consoles using RGH1 type wiring, that had a "dirty" signal on cpu_pll_bypass, that would cause freezing issues, and a cpu_pll_bypass cleaner fixed those issues. That being said, the easiest way to rule out the HDD is to install aurora, and a game on a flash drive, and remove the HDD. If it still freezes, then you know the problem lies somewhere else. if not, then you know the problem is a hdd issue.
  14. I thought they moved away from salamander a while ago. lol. Not that it matters much. lol.
  15. This has been answered on this page of this thread already, and probably about 20+ times throughout the thread.
  16. What he is talking about isnt going to replace connectX for most users, but might replace it for others, and there are some things that connectX can do, that this can not, due to how it works, or I should say at least not at this time. So, ConnectX isnt going anywhere anytime soon, and he shouldnt have mentioned what he did, even in the way he did, as that is still in early testing, and may or may not be included with the Nova release, if and when that comes. That being said, there will be no more details on this mentioned, as you already know more than you should at this point in time, and it isnt our place to tell you about it, which is why it wasnt mentioned previously. I am only commenting on this, as you cant put a genie back into a bottle, once it is out, and now everyone who reads this will start speculating on what he is talking about.
  17. Or maybe the problem has already been looked into and fixed.
  18. How about this for a forecast date...... The second tuesday after never if people dont stop asking when it will be finished. As I have said, there are a lot of moving parts in this. People have jobs, and families that come first. Then there is the impedance that we all live all in different countries, and are all working on a small piece of the whole. Then there is the testing, and everything else that goes into it. Asking us to tell you when it is going to be done is like asking us to tell you when the apocalypse will happen. Here is the answer, when we feel it is ready for public consumption and not a day sooner. If you arent happy with that answer, then we dont have to release it at all, and aurora can end for the public with 0.6b. The real question here is what do you think you are going to get with 0.7b, that you dont have with 0.6b? Sure it has some cool new features, but in reality, I have both, and am still using 0.6b as my main dash on my console, because 0.7b isnt ready to replace it. How about this, I can send you a version that crashes every time you start it. Or do you want the version that crashes 95% of the time when you press a button on the controller? If not, learn to be patient, and wait like everyone else.
  19. There are a ton of factors, how far away you are from the server, if it is zombies or not, if the TU is the same, if the Media ID is the same, if the server allows people to join once a game has started, etc. There is nothing we can do to the link service to make it better for these issues, as a lot of them have nothing to do with how the service works, but has to do with how the game server that runs on the xbox is written by the game developers.
  20. If the application is in the same scan path as the rest of your games, then it will assume it is a game. Try moving the app, and creating a new scan path, that is set to homebrew.
  21. Try using the updserv option. 1. Connect both your console, and computer to your network via cable, if not done already. 2. download dashlaunch installer, if you dont have it on your console already. 3. enable updserv option in dashlaunch, and leave the installer running. 4. open command prompt in the folder with xebuild.exe(not the GUI, in j-runner, this folder is called xebuild) 5. type xebuild update -f 17511 If this process doesnt fix the problem, then chances are your nand is bad, and it isnt allowing write processes to it. Also, this might build the image with dashlaunch, so if you end up at a stock xbox dash, then it updated, but you will need to use the dashlaunch installer. Also, without the avatar files included with xebuild, you will have to install those manually as well.
  22. You can use the unofficial one I released that can be found It already has all of the dash files, and avatar update for a couple of the dashes, so it is kind of big, but essentially what you need.
  23. Ok, you are right, kinda..... What the game genie does on the snes is modify the rom addresses in a man in the middle attack kind of way, instead of interfacing with the ram directly. That being said, I was right also, in the fact that it doesnt actually change the rom on the original game. All of that being said, this debate is pointless, because the way you stated it made it seem like it was modifying the original games rom chip, or that is how I understood it. The disadvantage to the way it does things is you cant disable a code in game, but that is a whole different issue, and the game genie never had an option for that, which can cause issues with some games(eg. S.M.B on the nes with the multi jump code not letting you go up pipes).
  24. Multidisc handling works with connectX in 0.6b if your folder structure is correct, so yes it will still work in 0.7b.
  25. no, I already said I dont have either of those games.
