  1. I wire all of my 360's with a 9v laptop fan that fits between the intake grate on the top cover and the auxiliary cooling fin on the gpu heat sink. I orient the fan as an intake and it works well with the exhaust fan by sending air right through the cpu and gpu heat sinks and out the fan shroud to the exhaust fan. I use a 12 volt and 3v line off of the dvd tray to spin the fan at 9v. This creates good airflow while keeping the fan nice and quiet at the same time. After doing this I keep my fans on default so that the system can control the flow and set my temperature parameters in dashlaunch to be a little lower than stock, that way my system stays nice and cool without sounding like a hurricane.
  2. If you push y, you can use the options menu to hide your 2 of 2
  3. Have you tried using a different usb drive? I find smaller thumbsticks seem to work better in Xell, but that's just me. Also, I have had a problem where I have certain consoles that will load the newest version of the emulator and some that simply will not. I posted in the forums and other users have had the same problem and no one seems to know why. You can always try the older version of the N64 emulator, it works okay, but its a shame since the new one works so much better than the old one.
  4. xexmenu is a program, synonyms for check would be "to look at" or "to investigate further. noob questions come from lack of knowledge, lack of knowledge comes from not ever using google to investigate a question before crowding a forum with noob questions. Literally the first 4 entries in google were xexmenu tutorials.
  5. Does he know that I wasn't trying to get him to boot to stock dash? Try to give a guy a little knowledge...
  6. Are you updated to the latest freestyle dash? That has the customized xbox guide built right into it. Just update Freestyle dash and you will have it.
  7. It likely didn't work because you switched it in the official microsoft kernel by switching your demon to boot to the stock dashboard. You need to boot your console on the RGH side while holding down your right bumper on your controller. This will boot you to the microsoft dashboard on your RGH side. You need to understand that freestyle dash is not actually a dashboard, it is a program that runs on top of a dashboard. The dashboard it runs on top of is the microsoft dash, only on your rgh side it has been hacked to run homebrew programs such as fsd3. Your microsoft kernel and your rgh kernel (commonly called freeboot) work independantly of each other. Your microsoft kernel and your freeboot kernel both do not know that the other one exists, which is why changing a setting on the microsoft kernel will not effect what happens on the freeboot kernel.
  8. I came across this by accident, excellent app, should be very handy for me!
  9. So... many.... questions! Do not update your official microsoft kernel until you've read and understood the proper way to do so. There are a lot of great tutorials in the tutorial section of this site that can explain how to do so correctly. I wrote one that may be good for you, it explains a lot about how your rgh works and why it is important to keep it up to date. However, it is a little old, I recommended using Jrunner to update with, however, I think the easiest program to use now is a program called autogg. So once you've had a read through of at least the beginning of my tutorial to gain some understanding about your system, feel free to then begin using autogg instead.Use Freestyle dash 3. Compared to Freestyle Dash 3 Xexmenu looks and behaves like a dinosaur. It used to be that always having xexmenu on your rgh was practically a necessity, however, I no longer even include xexmenu as part of the programming on a customers rgh or jtag because it allows them to much access to important system files that could brick their system if they weren't careful.Your Rgh should be able to read any size hard drive, and I believe you can simply format it to ntsc and drop it in and it should work just fine. That way you could use any size drive in the internal bay that you wanted to. Keep in mind that if you have a dual booting box, an ntsc drive would not work on Xbox Live, but if you don't have a dual booting box then no worries. The external drive does have to be fat32 or it won't read, however, you can use iso files or extracted files, either should work just fine. You can name your games folder anything you want under Freestyle dash 3, just be sure to tell the dashboard where to look for your games in your settings section of freestyle dash 3.Most DVD's are 7.2 gigs or 3.5? the exact number escapes me, any disk you come across is going to be one of these two numbers because that is the size of a single layer and a dual layer disk. Every disk that is created for the xbox is going to be one of these two sizes regardless of the size of the actual game because the entire disk is filled out with dummy information on what would have been the blank portions of the disk. That is why your 4.5 gig game was on a 7.2 gig disk, 4.5 needs two layers to fit all that info on because it won't fit on a 3.5.I'm not sure what your referring to when you say dvd file, but my gut says no, the image file should be all you need. Also, jtags work exactly like rgh's on the software side of things, so yes, GOD files will work exactly the same way on both. Also, Freestyle Dash 3 has a DVD ripping utility that can read your discs and extract the data onto your rgh for you.

    Game Art

I can answer one of those questions, jqe360.com is where fsd3 gets its artwork from and you can push cover art from the site to your box if you link your box to jqe360.com in your freestyle dash settings.
  11. Not all wiring jobs are created equal, some chips stall out, I had a squirt 360 chip that would do a very similar thing to me. I use coolrunners exclusively now because of this.
  12. Great to see you back again darkmurf! Would love to see another skin!

    PS3 xkey

is this the cobra odde? here is a link to tortuga cove (a rms trusted site) with an in depth synopsis: http://www.tortuga-cove.com/128-hacking/ps3/ps3-hardware-hacks/10366-ps3-hardware-hacks-cobra-ode-hardware-the-wait-is-over
  14. Yes, as long as it is a stock drive or has been formatted to fatX, can't hurt to try. Any non-microsoft programs, or jtag unlocked programs will simply show up as corrupt files so if you are going to do it, you may as well erase all that stuff to make more room.
  15. try spiffy360.com, it is a large repository of diiferent skins for fsd3 as well as other programs as well. i know that there a few metro dashes on there
  16. Nope, there are currently no browsers available for your jtag.
  17. The first thing anyone really should do is to check their nxe dash, dashlaunch, avatar update, TU and their version of freestyle dash to ensure they are all up to date. Almost every problem people post on these forums could be easily resolved by simply updating these things.
  18. have you enabled dashlaunches ability to unlock content? That may have something to do with it. Also, start using xm360 instead of yaris. Way easier and you can run it directly from your Xbox instead of moving things from your xbox, to your computer and then back again.
  19. First off, I'd suggest getting rid of that aweful, hard to read highlighted text... Second, as long as you are at it you may as well check and make sure that you are running the latest freestyle dash, dashlaunch and nxe dash. If not, find an autogg tutorial and a copy of freestyle dash 3 installer and get that shiz updated! If it is up to date, you should be able to run dashlaunch from your xexmenu, from dashlaunch you can tell it what program it needs to boot to as well as enable its ability to do things like play indie games and whatnot. I'm not sure why you'd have to edit anything in dashlaunch to run homebrew games as an r-jtag can already do that from freestyle dash itself.
  20. They used to have this capability back in freestyle 1.2, I'd love to see it come back again! Part of having a jtag or RGH is showing off to your friends all of the sweet things it can do and showing off trailers in the dashboard was always something I liked! I can't wait to see a release of this feature. Anas seems pretty serious about adding good things to FSD, I can't wait to see what he develops in the future! Keep up the good work!
  21. Wait... no questions or complaints easily answered by google? No asking for ridiculously hard to implement features in the next release? Greatest post ever!!!
  22. Freeboot is the only one in use anymore and you should always strive to have the latest kernel. This guide is a little outdated, the eaiest way to update your console is to use blakcat's autogg program. This program will read your kernel and automatically update it over a usb stick or over your network and will always include the latest kernel as long as you allow the program to update itself.
  23. There is a cable for the xbox 360 that goes straight from the scart output to vga. I'd give that a go if you are running to a monitor. you can pick them up for a few bucks on amazon or ebay. I use one at my diagnostic station and they produce great picture quality on a computer monitor.

    sold****

For a site that forbids piracy talk, that's a lot of pirated games. I hope that is not what you're figuring is making this console worth $500.
  25. If it is a jtag, it should boot instantly, if it is an rgh there would be a delay.
