  1. Press your Guide button, and then press (X) button to either sign in or sign out depending on your current status. If (X) signs you out, then press (X) again to choose another profile.
  2. WE're going to come up wtih a solution for Xbox Classic- but it wont be thru guide button
  3. Bad connection or cheating isn't the only reason for kicking someone- shitty attitude, vulgar language on voice chat, racists, bigots, etc. Maybe they don't deserve to be banned from a public or private room for 6hrs, but just need a warning to cut it out or get banned- that's what its for. I will look into the clan suggestion- it would most likely have to be a website managed interface with may just a tag visible in HUD- we'll see what we can come up with.
  4. It involves holding a button for a certain amount of time while focus is on a specific control. What I can tell you is that you'll have to have your XboxUnity account linked to Aurora for it to work and that the specific control I refer to is somewhere in the settings scene. Good luck!
  5. Regarding the room leadership concerns, we are completely revamping the leadership assignment process- so you should see some improvements in that area. We can't really do a host kick option cause that is essentially a game specific function; but we think with the new leadership process, it should be easier to manage your rooms. The goal right now is that when a leader leaves or gets disconnected, leadership is automatically assigned to the person who has been there the longest. Then, if the owner of the room (ie the person who created the room) comes in, and leader is on the wrong person or a person they don't want to have leader, they can reassign leader to either themselves or someone else. Our kick functions are being revamped as well- we're implementing a 5 minute kick- which is essentially the kick you have now, but only 5 minute restriction instead of 60 minute. This allows you to warn kick. Then we're adding a function called a room ban, which is a 2hr ban from your room. Based on your concerns, I may increase that 2hr ban to 6hrs.
  6. So how is the easter egg hunt coming?
  7. The Quick Browse list was created precisely for this situation. Rendering text to the covers is severely complex, especially since we support different cover layouts. I could render text on the face of every cover, but as soon as you change the Spine view- you can't see them again. Then, like Swizzy said- if the text is too long what then? One thing that someone could do- and we set up the skin to support this- is you could make Aurora boot into a quick view list and just hide the coverflow all together.
  8. In looking into this option- we can only open the filemanager to the folder the game exists in. So if you were thinking this could open up to where your TUs and DLC is located, I have some bad news- Big problem with that is DLC/TUs can live on multiple devices- I can try to guess where you want me to go, but ill never be right 100% of the time for every person. So with that, I am working toward getting it to open to the path of the game. If the game is located in Content/0000/ then it'll open there, if its located in hdd1/Games/Blur it will open there
  9. Another note- if you add filters to Show All- its no longer showing all.... the reason its not editable is because we have a face button (X) tied to the functionality of show all.
  10. Yeah ultimately, Nova would be the controlling entity for maintaining the Xbox Unity connection. Any data that gets sent to Aurora will be through Nova first.
  11. And then all that disappears when you start a game- right now my focus will be on getting LiNK working with everything we currently have planned- we'll see how much resources we have left afterward to expand upon it.
  12. If you press the GetAPI Key button it asks for your password to get the API Key- If you press on the text box you can manually enter your API Key. It is your API Key that is stored in the database- not your password. We may have set up LiNK to work with both API Key and password as interchangeable (I don't recall exactly what we did there)- However; if you are entering your password into the API Key box, you're only making yourself vulnerable to exposing your password to prying eyes. (Also, it is likely that entering your password into API Key box will also cause Unity Push to not work correctly). So all that said; API Key is named API Key cause it contains your API Key. Naming it anything else would be wrong.
  13. Hello everyone, We've decided to release our Coverflow Layout Editor tool (with Aurora Plugin ) for you all to play around with and create your own custom coverflow layouts. You can adjust the layout, the camera, the lighting, and all of the different modes. You can then save your layout and share it with others! As usual, if you like what we're doing here, and want to support and encourage us to continue releasing tools and apps, feel free to Click here for more information!
  14. As usual, if you like what we're doing here, and want to support and encourage us to continue releasing tools and apps, feel free to Download: CoverflowLayoutEditor.rar How to Use: Step #1. Copy the CFEditDLL.xex into your Aurora/Plugins folder and restart Aurora. Step #2. Confirm that the DLL is loaded by checking the Loaded Modules dialog (Back button from Aurora main menu) Step #3. Launch CoverFlow Editor on your PC Step #4. Enter your xbox IP Step #5. Play with all the different settings. Step #6. Once you've created all the different modes you want, save the layout to disk Step #7. Copy the Layout into your Aurora/Media/Layouts folder and use it whenever you want! Notes: I recommend you have both your PC and Xbox360 on a wired connection. I've experienced connectivity issues when using WiFi. Additionally, I recommend removing the CFEditDLL.xex when you are not using it so your normally running dash is not impacted. Screenshots:
  15. We haven't disabled sounds from use in Aurora Skins- we have only opted to not include them in the default skin. The only events where sound is not going to work is when moving through coverflow or flipping / adjust coverflow cameras; but, if its down to audio/visual cues, then I think the visual cue is pretty apparent that its working. So that said- if you really want sounds in your skin- it is possible to include them with XUI tool. Look forward to seeing what you guys create!
  16. You probably have to adjust your TVs overscan from within your TV system menus.
  17. It's possible, but we actually stripped out the per profile Xbox Unity thing in an earlier version of Aurora because when someone signed into a profile and hadn't yet set an API Key, people were generally confused why they couldn't connect to LiNK. We removed it so you entered your API Key once for the system, and it became a lot more user friendly. The other change is that LiNKv1 required you be signed into a profile to use it. LiNK v2 does not require a profile to be signed in- so we have that do deal with as well. I agree- except that we're generating expectations that might just end up letting people down haha- there is a lot more to nova than just LiNK tho, so still tons of surprises to come!
  18. that folder is where the backups are stored- don't copy things manually into that folder or it wont be detected
  19. Before assumptions get way out of hand- a couple of points to hopefully answer some questions: 1) You will be required to log into Xbox Unity every time the Nova plugin is loaded (so every time you boot Aurora for the first time). We will most likely have options to auto-login just like you would if you were on Xbox Live or any other internet service. Auto Login would remember whatever username and apikey you supplied it and use that to connect to Xbox Unity at boot. 2) We will most likely not incorporate external trainers to enable kicking from specific games. The disconnection of a LiNK user from a LiNK lobby is enough to force a disconnection from the host. If the host of the actual game is kicked from a LiNK lobby, then anyone connected to that host will lose connection with the host. 3) Don't over dream on what friends and messaging will be like. It's likely not going to be exactly like Xbox Live and the possibilities are not endless. We're working within some very strong memory and processing limits and while we want to bring you everything you want- some of it may not be possible once we really dig into those areas and push the limits. 4) Alpha testing of the Nova will happen in the future and will initially be invite only. The alpha testing process will be to test functionality and ensure that system link connectivity is still working properly. More importantly, the alpha testing will be to ensure our server framework is robust and solid enough to handle more than 4 people at once (which is currently the most we've tested online at a single time) 5) Lastly, Nova and the future LiNK service will only work with Aurora once its released. And I know there are adamant Freestyle Dash lovers out there; but once we go into public release of Nova, the support for LiNK as you are using it now will be disabled and Freestyle Plugin will no longer connect. The reason for this is because current LiNK (let's call it LiNK v1) works completely different than new LiNK (let's call it LiNK v2). LiNK v1 uses HTTP protocol to communicate with a server and everything is request based. LiNK v2 uses an active one-to-one connection with the server and a messaging architecture to get encrypted, instant and low overhead communication. LiNK v1 and LiNK v2 will not be compatibile with each other and thus, LiNK v1 will go away. Hopefully this helps everyone's understanding of Nova and the future of LiNK. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and I can't even say for sure what features will ultimately make it out- we have big ideas- and it's only a matter of time before we know what we can pull off~
  20. put them in the cache folder on hdd1... Aurora will detect them there just like the ones in content
  21. This topic no longer applies due to it being replaced by the background selection dialog.
