  1. just updated my console, this whole process is so ridiculously easy and fast to do that's not even funny anymore. also greets to jpizzle for such detailed tutorial only thing it didn't do was to update my kinect/avatar data, even though i placed the $systemupdate folder inside 16537... i even updated twice (yes, this is *that* fast and secure) to see if something went wrong somewhere, to no avail. anyways, i'll just update the thing manually, it's not hard to do at all so, for the people still on the fence about this, i'll just say DO IT.
  2. i have thoughts, but on you: - you most probably updated freestyle but are using a custom theme made for the previous release - you didn't read that custom themes won't work correctly (they'll hang the tu manager) on the new freestyle release unless they explicitly support it - ie. themes custom made or ported for rev.775 - you also didn't read that the old weather api key isn't working anymore and that you must get a new one in order to get weather working what's with you people not reading instructions anymore... too smart for the user manual?
  3. yeah, thanks a lot for the clarification, however it's just that i *happen* to own a corona without an internal hdd... gonna perform some experiments with this and the ubuntu image i have lying around anyways, thanks
  4. enough for what? dude, i just use a 500gb external hd and i have plenty of space to spare... then again, i'm not storing music or videos on it, nor i'm hoarding hundreds of game titles that i'll probably never play "just because"you should know what are *your* needs in regards of storage. your top limit, however, is 2tb because of technical limitations of the system used to format the disk (fat32)hth
  5. thank you very much for your work edit: ---------- by the way, what's the point of copying the included font into mediafonts? the font embedded into the theme seems to be doing its job correctly, so the changes (if there's any) when duplicating the font aren't immediately apparent... i'm genuinely curious about this edit (again!) ---------------------- disregard my previous question, i took a real good look at the theme without the duplicated font installed and noticed the parts where the skin "isn't reaching". interesting, nonetheless
  6. if you're using the latest release of freestyle you can obtain that info directly from the miniblades once you're running the game. use something like xm360 to check the dlc (and to unlock it if that's the case) open a new tab in your browser and enter the xbox's ip as the url, username and password are both "f3http" by default. you can use that web interface to perform several maintenance tasks which include the addition and/or replacing of covers and other artwork. check it out
  7. he meant a new api key the old ones aren't working anymore
  8. fantastic work, interesting concept and very polished. if you could also release a spanish version next time you're playing with xuitt i (and others) would be very grateful for that
  9. sad to see the disbanding of the team... best of luck in your future endeavors and thank you very much for all the effort poured into this project by the way, after some fiddling with winmerge i can confirm begallegal1's findings and i'll report that i made my custom rev735 skin (which is also based on metrostyle, i might add) fully compatible -i think- with this new release by changing JUST ONE FILE, which happens to be TitleUpdateManager.xur located in the root of the theme. so, to all the moaners crying that they're unable to use the new tu manager or that their boxes are hanging or rebooting or whatever because of custom themes, i say: less bitching and more working please
  10. not exactly true, as i can regularly connect to others with both ports AND both protocols listed as failed without a single problem. the results obtained via the test button are just to be considered as a guide and shouldn't be taken as the absolute truth ctabares, your problem looks awfully similar to something that also happened to me. please read THOROUGHLY this thread and the steps i took to solve it: http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/1979-is-there-any-speed-requirement-to-host-a-syslink-game/ by the way, are you south american?
  11. excellent, thank you very much for the report
  12. are rev735 skins compatible with this release? congratulations on another job well done
  13. i was expecting something much bigger like a first gen ps3 new kinect is just fatter, width wise it looks the same
  14. i know, i have already several emulators running without problems on my system and also i've put most of my dlc and other installables on a usb pendrive. the thing is, nobody bothered to port atarixlbox from the original xbox to the 360 and i read here that the emu works with no issues via the xbox emulator, that's why i asked. so far the pendrive solution works for almost everything but a couple of very specific things, for example battlefield 3 is unable to recognize its hd content if it's installed on a pendrive -unlike other installables for different games like halo and forza 4-, xbox emu requires an internal hdd as you said, xell still has some problems with its hdmi output, etc. so if coronas without internal hdd can't enjoy legacy support... well, tough luck for us! can't say i'm disappointed with my purchase, though
  15. booo... no atari xl emulator for me thanks for the explanation anyways
  16. a slight thread hijack, but is it possible to partition external usb drives for the emulator fix? i don't think it'd be a wise idea to try to partition the internal memory unit of a corona 4g...
  17. you're completely right, there's 20 configurable paths available on fbanext. retroarch has just one that you can find in retroarch.ini located in the root of the emui have no experience with snes360 -- the snes9x core of retroarch is good enough for me
  18. okay, i refrained to reply to this thread until i tested this thoroughly and had concrete evidence of what i'm going to write for short: this method works (at least for this particular isp) preamble: as i previously posted, my xbox is correctly configured, with its default ports not only opened but its very fixed ip dmz'd. i could play other people's games without problems, but if i hosted a game nobody could see me after the heads up by irishdave (thank you again) i remembered that in the good ol' days when torrents were a novelty and isp's weren't analyzing packets in order to do traffic shaping, they simply blocked whole ranges of ports for just uploading data while leaving them opened for download. i figured this would be the case since this system link service isn't that widespread as to warrant packet analysis. with a friend -living at the other side of the city but using the same isp- we configured our boxes to use ports 21 (typically used for ftp) and 80 (http). i elected port 21 for broadcast since i supposed that a constant upstream via port 21 wouldn't be suspicious at all. for testing purposes i told my friend to do the reverse and put 21 as data port and 80 for broadcast pushing the test button under this setup will make everything pass but tcp communications, which will fail. we played a couple rounds in black ops 2 to check things out. all ok then i tried hosting a game without leaving the room... success! then my friend tried the same, and while we could see connect and see each other, the connection was very unstable and would be lost after not so long. before blaming anything, we tried a different angle we started a game with no players at all -rainbow six vegas 2- on its empty public room. again, games hosted by my friend were pretty unstable while mine were rock solid (and to the anonymous guy who appeared outta nowhere to join the fun, thank you, seriously). i suspect that if my friend reversed the ports his stability as a host would improve to summarize, by using port 21 as broadcast and 80 as data port, i've managed to defeat the blockade of my isp. try this tip if you're also having this particular problem, there's absolutely nothing to lose
  19. you mean something like when the isp do traffic shaping on torrents? you might be right, and it was something that never crossed my mind i'll try to confirm your suspicions this night. in the meantime, is it safe to try that lil' ol' trick of using ports 21/80/other known ports to broadcast/receive with link? thank you very much for the insight.
  20. hello, recent owner of a corona w/o internal hdd matrix glitched i'm asking because, while i CAN connect and play games hosted by others, i CANNOT host a game on my own -- specifically, i can create a room and host a game, but nobody can see me (under the same tu, obviously) since i thought maybe i was too n00bish to set up things correctly, i decided with some friends to meet up and connect to any game hosted on a public room. we ended playing a bit of mw3 - no problems, everyone could see each other. then i tried hosting a map *on the same game, without leaving that public room* and nobody could see me anymore. my friends also tried hosting on their own to no avail my xbox is completely up to date (necessary, since the kinect won't work without that) and link not only got its ports open, but the entire ip is dmz'ed as well. needless to say, all tests pass with flying colors and -i repeat- i **can** play using link, but i'm unable to host any hints are appreciated. thanks in advance
