  1. -is it the only games that does that? -when you start minecraft, and the message asking offline or online appears, does it shutdown even if you dont choose anything? -have you already had any problems with your console or updates? did you make a recent update or tryed to updates something? -if you have kinect, make sure its pluged in while you use your xbox, because sometime if an xbox have been updated before for kinect, it will shutdown after a while if the kinect dosent stay plugged in.(for me it happens only with phat xboxs..)
  2. hi Kartal i'm not sure if i understand your question clearly, but are you just trying to install your games on the xbox, passing by FSD3 ? if so, you just go in the extract DVD, and when you're done your game will be in the game section of FSD, but not in the original dash from microsoft. But if you want to install games without the disc, you can transfer the games in FTP, or with a USB drive.( but i doubt that what you want since you wrote ''game disk'' ) Your games go in the folder xbox360 or any folder you make for xbox360 games.., and you have to set the Game path in FSD settings, to point FSD to the folder of your games. if its not what you meant, describe a bit more what you are trying to do.
ET POUR L'AMOUR DE DIEUX CESSE D'ÉCRIRE ''my'' !! CE QUE TOI TU VEUX DIRE C'EST ''me'' ! sa change toute la signification qu'un anglais comprends!! in english- well me i tought it would be useless to haves annoying tags on top of every games in coverflow mode, but the only small tag i would have love to have would be a tag ''COMPLETED!'' , positionned in angle, on the corner of the games that are completed. But i think i would end-up find it annoying lol..anyway, Canneliser is starting to handle those tools and he loves to learn and explore so perhaps he will manifest and try it? and for the love of gods, stop saying ''my''! you actually want to say ''me'' !..it really change the signification of your sentence!
  4. .. quand tu dit ''my'' je crois que tu veux en fait dire ''me'' ...my = mon et me = moi ... .. i think he's trying to ask if someone could make a plugin for fsd, wich would be called ''tag'' , that would put some tags above games like: multi, finished, begin, etc..) ..i think it would be useless and..ahh anyway.. good luck.
  5. come on Prayer, you're scaring the guy XD ...seriously you cant really damage the fans, you have same fans for pc and they never burn!..i mean like Prayer said its small chances..but seriously its really more then small chances..its 99.999% impossible to burn those fans! so dont worry of putting it high. you could even let it run at 100% most of the time if you would want, and they will still live almost forever cpu fans are usually made with magnet ring-berrings (..not sure if its said that way in english..) inside and there are no friction at all since the small ring-berring kinda floats in the magnet ring..so they only chance of a fan to die would mostly if there where to much power, but its not possible in xbox's case unless you modifie badly your fan (inside the console with wires etc ..) And me what i suggest: if you use the fan settings from Dashlaunch, well also put your FSD's fan setting to the same % you've put in dashlaunch. So that way if something happend with dashlaunch or updates or whatever, well your FSD will atleast keep the fan high. Its a good way to have a secure-setting in case something happen
  6. go to Dashlaunch and uncheck the green square beside the tempo bar setting in the SystemInfo (..in Dashlaunch!..) and then you will be able to control it from fsd.
  7. sweet nice skin i just tryed it and like it! i love the ''pirate-style'' it haves! here are some bugs i noticed (not to be bad, just to help you finalize your skin ..) so something i noticed is when you go to the option menu by pressing ''back'' button on the controller, the menu falls in some kind of loop if you go at the last icon, and continue trying to go further and the menu becomes blanck until you reach a certain point. And i dont know if its voluntary or not, but would be great if in the oprion menu, we could not only navigate horizontally, but also vertically! Other then that your skin is really cool dude! (ps: the only thing i miss is seeing my avatar on the screen..)
  8. well if you want to pass by the default.xex, extract it the way you would extract any undecompressable archives..learn here: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?p=29919
  9. ''..I didnt change anything in FSD Fan settings. I dont want to do anything that would harm my console..'' dont worry, if in the fsd's fan setting you just put it higher, nothing can happened bad. But lowering-it can end-up damaging your console. So just to be sure while you try some stuff to fix your problem, you should atleast put your FSD fan settings at 100%, that way you will clearly hear-it when you activate or desactivate the ''automatic'' feature in Dashlaunch. Then do like prayer said in dashlaunch. to do so: go to the second menu of dashlaunch by pressing LB (on the ocntroller..), then go to system info, and you uncheck the green square beside the fan setting..then you will hear you fan run at 100% (since you have put your FSD fan setting to 100% before..) save and quit!.. so Back to FSD, go in your fan settings and set it to how you want until you find your good temp settings.
  10. well like jbp said, scan your path or reboot FSD..but if you mean from the ordiginal dash menu, well your game wont appear there in every format. And i think if you transfer them with copy DVD from fsd, you wont have the good format to see them in the original dash, but theres a programme to convert them in the same format but i dont remember the name...i hope someone else will bring my memory back because i know its a popular program but dont remember the name...anyway.... but even if you dont convert them or see them in the original dash, you still will be able to play without problem! but still, if its in the fsd that you cant see the games, be sure you have set the paths correctly in the settings.
  11. oh ok.. at first i tought you meant something more like a port of msn-messenger..thats why i tought about the kinect for cam lol
  12. dude your skin look awesome! its always nice to see different skin style!..not just different icons and colours... cant wait to try it!
  13. yah its true that it will take a bit more long if you have tons of games..but anyway this isnt the problem, well for me it wasnt since it was doing that even with only 2 games lol.. so even when its games are loaded to the screen, even after an hour, it will still be laggy...well unless you fix it i mean..and when you switch the coverflow layout (by pressing ''x'' i think) its smooth for about 2 seconde then back to laggy.. anyway, for me i fixed it tottally by doing as i said above so i dont care about that anymore lol..
  14. hi!well to be honest 70c is a bit to high for only RAMs. what system version do you have? and for this temperature, what percentage do you put your fan settings in FSD ? if you are able to open your console by yourself and have a bit of knowledge, you can and should put some small pad on the RAMS, but its not all the pads that are good! And with the temperature you say you have, we see that the rest of the console ventilate good, so i would suggest pads that will work better when ventilated, so in the same material that the heatsink. You can find those mini mini mini heatsink in most of computer shop, and they already have some kind of sticky-thermal-paste-sticker underneath them, those are great when theres only the ram that heat to much, because like i said, they will ventilate really good..but you can also use those grey pad to put on the ram chips..anyway you're not obligated to do that, its just an advice if you want to be sure that you wont need a futur reflow..
  15. yah ana or gpu..cpu and ram would not give vertical lines (unless someone can proove me wrong but i doubt!) anyway, its the first time i see this kind of cooling pad..i dont feel like it would really do big difference with that..looks kind of crappy..did you try without it? see if it really does a difference. i think a safe temp (for the long terme-time) for a old xbox would be about 60c max, but for an xbox that already had a rrod, its will maybe eventually start to heat up again if the fix wasnt properly made. The reason why its hard to to tell an exact safe temp, is because lot of xbox haves there history beind..(rrod, room for the console, if you smoke or not near it, if its near a heater, if its on a carpet, etc etc..) but if you want to be sure: 60c is defenitly safe. me what i would do, i would open the console, reball everything (well probably..), and then mod the heatsinks to put a small fan on it, pointing in the direction of the stock fan. I usually take small mini fan that i put direclty on the heatsink (with a little curve to disperse the heat more easyly!..) and i solder it to a 6v source on the motherboard. but when you're done playing with a game, if you see thta the temperature is near 70c, dont turn off your console! let it cool down a little bit before turning it off because when you will turn it off, the 70c wont be ventilated from the xbox and may damage your console. Most of the rrod for the old consoles didnt happen while in-game, it was when turning it back on and bam! red rings...so if its near 70c when you're done playing a loong time, wait like 1 minutes to cool it down to atleast 60c before turning the power off. (ps: slim's users should not be stressed of shutting it down while its hot..but still,..have to be logic..i mean..if its 80c well would be good to.....anyway...)
  16. hi JPizzle..would it take too much resources if the messaging system is compatible with kinect? would be nice to chat and use the kinect cam at the same time..but maybe it will ask too much rescources..
  17. ..and if stills does it sometime, empty the cache-datas with the storage settings on the stock dashboard.. since the day i stoped using disc to play games, this message occured to me once!..i was playing Fable3 and at first i was having this message almost always after the same amount of time of playing, but after it begin to happend at almost the same place in the game, wich was when getting out of a cave,,dont remember wich but who caaaarrrrre..... and it stopped doing this completely when i deleted the cache datas. (..from storage menu in original dash..) but try at first like JPizzle said, he knows more!
  18. i had this problems with lot of skins and whats weird is that each time, i felt like i was the only one whith this problem..like with the skin Metro it lags a lot for me and everyone was telling me that there was no lagging at all... i dont know if it depends on the jtag you have..the version of motherboard..or maybe a ram chip that begins to drop i really doubt since its only in skins that it occurs (well for me..) do you have a zephyr ? and for me it happened more frequently when its a skin with lots of coverflow..(but usually now all skins i use are smooooth without lags)) anyway, to fix this when it happened i disactivate either the meteo or the background-ring-animation in the skin's setting and it then comes back to normal ans smooth. Another case happened to me once, that when it was slow, i changed the hard drive and boum! it went back smooth!..so maybe in this case it the installationh itself on the hard drive, or the cache datas, etc... Iwould suggest to delete all your skins with filemanager and all files related to those skins in your hard drive (xbox!..not in the pc!..) and then with xexmenu (you dont have to, but thats my suggestion..) transfer the skin in the skin folder in Freestyle, and try it to see if it stills lags. Sometime some skin's temporary data comes in conflic when pasting skins over other without clearing they're old datas.. but anyway, dosent mean its the same problem as i had before, but it looks the same..it dosent lag a lot, but enough to loose the smoothness of the coverflows.. hope it works for you!..or else i hope someone else will be able to help you because it suck to have a lagging coverflow. On the old xbox classic with XBMC, i used to have lots of theme's lag until i solder more RAMS in it..anyway.. or maybe something in your xbox takes other rescources? did you try listening music at the same time to see if it lags more? if it stays the same lag and not more, then i dont think its the rescources..but if with music on, you see coverflows lagging more, then theres a good chance the skin is taking to much rescources..but why someone else would not?..so there's a big chance i'm wrong in my last possibility.. good luck and come back !
  19. well if on 100% it dosent reach more the 60c and even if it would get a little higher it would not rrod..but then again, its a phat xbox with old thermal paste and the old model of heatsink..i think if you change some little stuff, you could have this temperature at only 80% fan settings..but now it isnt the case and even with an additionnal cooling pad..so i will try to help you drop some heat. first: -did it ever had a rrod before? (or even just some little heating problems like a semi-rrod..) -if it had a rrod before, what fix did you use? -what kind of cooling pad do you have? can you find the same on google and put the link of the image here please.. -did you RGH-it yourself? and for the position: i would say its better to leave it up (cheesh i cant find an english word to what i want to say..to leave the xbox ''debout''..standing...) then to put it laying down, because a lot of aeration holes are underneath and when its laying down, its more diffecult for it to take air. Because even if the aeration holes arent always near the fans or near cpu cpu, the air still comes from there!..so the ventilation is stronger when its standing up.
  20. yah slims will praticly never rrod, i've seen some slim rrod, but its extremely rare. The fan they made with the slims models are directly sitting on the heat sinks (a bit like the old xbox classic but bigger! (..the fan..) ) so yah slims will take lot of heat without even damage, the only thing you wont spare if you leave to much heat, is the thermal paste under the heatsinks, and then if the thermal paste dry's out, the heat will have trouble evacuate the xbox, and in a long terme-time it will heat more.If you sell your old consoles at the moment there's a new one coming out, you should not really care to much about the heat since its a slim, but if you plan of keeping your glitch-slim for long long years, 40% is good with your talismoon. (..but me i would still keep my fans at atleast 60% with a talismoon on a slim lol..)Slim's users should not stress about the heat, microsoft learned a lot by having they're ''rrod reputation'' before.. well i think it cannot cause damage to cooler..i mean, its only chips (not Ruffle chips..cpu/gpu chips..) with heatsinks on them, and the fans take away the heat from the heatsinks..so only thing that can happen is that the heatsink will get to same temperature of the room, wich is not bad!lolThe fan dosent trow cold air, it only take heat away. So i dont see any reason of damaging the chips or motherboard if you leave it high. And in case you come to think about the power it takes if putting higher fan settings all the time, xbox's where meant to give that voltage, dont forget you dont modifie anything physicly in it (well other then jtag..), the only reason the stock fan settings are set low from microsoft, is because of the sound but really because they judged it was un-necassary to put them high all the time, since they get high automaticly when it heat to much(..but when its to late!..). so FSD wont force the fans, it will just put them at a speed they where already designed for, but when you want and the speed you want.
  21. well first, i jsut want to specifie that when i said this, it wasnt to suggest it to anyone...it was because jbp210 posted this homebrew and i noticed that we can edit it since its already packed as a homebrew, but i dont suggest it if you dont have the patience.. but anyway, the background, as you can see, is easy to edit, but the sounds files are compress in a xui that dosent seem to open in xuitool, so so you can use apps that will open unpackageable package (like DragonUnpacker) to decompressed the xui named Background, and in it you find the sounds files and if you cant find the good one to change, well open the default.xex with HxD and find exactly the path from the background sound, etc etc..but maybe someone else will find another way but i dont think anyone would want to hassle with that kind of detail....me, i put the song ''dont fear the reaper'' from ''Blue Oyster Cult'' ....but who the hell careeee!!! XD (and like i said maybe someone have better and easyer way, maybe like editing a new path directing to an xma you would have convert etc etc..but..ahhh anyway its just a f****ng avatar editor app!!...) But if you have to much trouble with that and you really really want to change your avatar editor's background music, i suggest you open another post for it, so that other persons wont get lost when they come here to solve the same problem you had with avatar ! Good Luck
  22. yah i know! ..i wanted that to!.. but yesterday i tryed a couple of thing but anyway...the avatar editor from microsoft is more like an external application that we have to launch to use. and video player is more like integrated to the system.. so i guess thats why the video player cant really be packed and modded on pc, to port it as a homebrew..anyway... i hope TX will re-encode a media player to work in FSD and then, maybe we wont dream of a XBMC360 anymore! .. i mean, who would still dream of having a XBMC on the 360 if FSD had music/ video player, with nice coverflow, and most important for the video player: tons of codecs!! and of course more emulators!..anyway.. would be great to have media players and start building our music and video library, and unlike the old xbox, the 360 haves usb2.0 ports! so would be a + when we transfer medias! (..you can put a usb port in the old xbox, but its not usb2..its the first usb models..slow!..) anyway.
  23. nice! but dont be scared of putting your fans high! like i said a talismoon on 40% fan speed is good and you wont hear the fan a lot, but you can go higher if the sound of the fan isnt to much strong and you will drop some more celsious! ..the more heat you evacuate from your console, the longer it will live! well it really depend on the user.. i mean, for exemple me, when i play games like prototype 2 or skyrim with mods, i put my fans almost at 100% and i drop it back to 80% when i leave those games. Because some mods will make your cpu or gpu to heat faster (not hotter..faster!) so i prefer to prevent in advance and not wait untill it reach the temperature i would set in dashlaunch, before cooling at maximum!.. so to resume: to keep total control!
  24. hum well talismoon whisper fan are great and silent, and i would easyle get about 67c on default, but since those are silent, you should put the settings to about 40% and your console should be living for a hell long time! but then again, i dont know the history of your console so...but i suggest that when you use your heater near you, you should put your xbox's fan setting to 70% ...but anyway check with your temp bar and try different settings! but you really should keep your CPU-GPU under 60c. 74c is to hot for just transfering..
  25. yah well maybe you too misunderstood what i said because i'm french and sometime i dont use the exact words that i want to say in my own words..so i just want to clarifie that i dont think at all that you are dumb, i just wanted to be sure you read carefully all and..well you know, i mean theres a lot of people who comes to forums and dont research first, so its hard to prevent this unless being clear from the start! but thanks to the post you posted after me, you atleast expplained that you did research etc so! that being said, let get back to subject: well actually you can have fsd as default as i always have, you can re-activate updates alert from the settings but dont have too..you juste have to find a way to launch the update..like for exemple starting a disc like xexmenu will definitly launch the update you have on usb. but dosent mather since you manage to get it work anyway lol so anyway come back again if you need help. -peace.
