  1. This kept me thinking... can a custom background also be animated?

    Nand-X Drivers

Well... I've never soldered anything before. I know how it works but I haven't had any practice. Maybe one day I'll look into it!

Hmmmm... I wish I could rgh an xbox myself.
  4. Also, do you have your game paths set correctly in the "manage game path" menu?
  5. That's exactly what my problem was! I had a 500Gb and switched to a 1Tb. I tried using FSD, but it wouldn't work the way it was supposed to. Luckily for me, there was Aurora. And what an awesome thing is that! Come to the Aurora side, you won't regret it!
  6. Don't think you can replay a mission from a 100% save file. You should just replay the down in the docks mission, but set it to the lowest difficulty level.
  7. Mith here, reporting back: I'm happy to say that clearing the cache folder worked! The duration of the splash screen is now reduced to 7 seconds! I'm really grateful for all your support MaesterRowen, JPizzle and Swizzy. And I'm also thankful for this new release of Aurora. If there is anything I can help you guys with in the future, let me know!
  8. Hi JPizzle, thx for your quick answer! I have some minor questions regarding this: 1. What happens when I clear my cache folder? --> Will this delete all title updates? Do I have to redownload all title updates for all my games? 2. Is it ok to clear the system cache via the NXE dash in Device Options?
  9. I saw the Aurora 0.3b video on the home page and now I know what the normal loading procedure would look like. Therefore, I would like to specify my previous problem: it is in fact the scanning of the Cache folder that takes 15 seconds or so on its own, while in your video this step is executed almost immediately. Any idea what can be done about this? Should I alter my Cache somehow? Thanks in advance MaesterRowen!
  10. I'm really glad you'll look into this! It sounds reasonable that the TUscan is slowing everything down. I'll keep it to 0.3b for now. It's working as it should, and it's probably still better than FSD. We'll see. Thx!
  11. Reporting back: With the fresh install of Aurora 0.3b the first time I booted took 1 minute and 26 seconds for "Backing up title updates...". I get that. However, I have to redownload all title updates and artwork, which is probably why the boot time after that first try was decreased to about only 19 seconds (instead of the 27 seconds from yesterday). Also, I don't have the time to redownload title updates for each individual title. So... it's pretty crap. Luckily I kept the of Aurora 0.3b that updated from 0.2b, and everything is still there, but the splash screen loading time is still 27 seconds. EDIT: Is it possible to use 0.3b but without the feature of preloading covers, like it was in 0.2b?
  12. Right! It's on my to-do list for tomorrow. You'll hear from me then.
  13. I timed it again and it was 27 seconds from the start of the splash screen to the moment the splash screen disappears. My drive shouldn't be slow, as I purchased a new WD Ultra Passport only last month. I shall try a new install, but I won't get my hopes up. EDIT: Btw, thanks for the effort guys!
  14. I only have one device hooked up: Usb0. From the 160 titles, about 40 are XBLA games in the content folder of the internal Hdd1.
  15. Roughly around 160 titles need to be loaded. "Reading titles from database..." is quick, "Scanning Xbox 360\System\HDD1\Cache and Content" is the slow part.
  16. I tried that myself. It doesn't work. At the title screen, the scanning still happens.
  17. Same as above Edit: Let me be the first to make a remark. I have a large library and it takes 30 seconds for Aurora to scan all content and load the coverflow view, whereas the previous version took only 3 seconds to load. Is this a bug? The update information said 0.3b was intented for large libraries... I think I'm going back to 0.2b for now. Edit 2: Darn, being back in 0.2b, I need to manage my game paths again. Grr... and always that "please update"-prompt. So... going back to 0.3b --> main question: Is there any way to speed up the boot process in the title screen?

    Game Limit

I'd like to add that FSD3 is working slower when you have a large library of games. Aurora will fix that problem for you. Also, in the future 0.3b update, Aurora will be optimized for large libraries (so they say).
  19. Perhaps you just have a lousy internet connection? Maybe try connecting with an ethernet cable instead of wifi?
  20. I was sceptical, but it looks great. It's a new way of playing the game.
  21. Perhaps your dashboard version has something to do with you not being able to run the latest games? You should check it.
  22. You guys shure know how to keep us waiting! I'm eagerly checking every day. What will you be using the WebUI for? With F3, I used it only to add custom covers. If you want custom covers in Aurora, you just have to click the 'Push to Xbox' button on xboxunity.net. I'm just saying.
  23. I would've opted for that too. There must be some software available to divide a hard drive into several partitions. Good luck.
  24. Start over again and make sure you have all the necessary files copied to your internal HDD. Launch dashlaunch and set the aurora default.xex as default launch dash.
  25. Hi SD, you did the right thing getting a RGH. I have the same slim 250Gb. The tutorial that gonzo posted should help you a long way. After your dashboard update, you should first install xexmenu, then dashlaunch, then FSD and/or Aurora. FSD is the standard dash atm, but Aurora is catching up quickly. Start with FSD, it has all the necessary features, then, if you grow tired of it, you can just install Aurora. It's not more than copy paste some files. Good luck with everything!
