  1. I prefer the hacked files. there is some homebrew from the original xbox I still use.
  2. I will keep messing with it then, as I said, it probably has more to do with me not doing something right then not. either way it is still progress, and I love to see progress. Just tried it again, and it was working fine. weird.
  3. it was after launching the snes9x core, went to roms, list was empty. when I hit b the rom I had selected showed up with the file name, and launched. I dont know if it is like this in all cores, or just this 1. The aurora side of things worked perfectly. I do remember people saying that retroarch had problems with 1.0.0.2 in the menu also on the xbox, so this could be the bug they were talking about.
  4. Didnt realize that gambatte was an original gb and gb color emulator. Thanks for the info. as for the menu, roms werent showing up until I hit the button that loaded them. it was some small stuff like that. maybe I was not understanding what I was doing, or it is a glitch. I didnt really mess with it much though, will play with it more later.
  5. Works much better, roms are actually working from aurora. It could just be me, but I think the contrast or brightness is off in all of the cores I tested, which are the ones I sent you roms for. It is brighter then the original systems were. Other then that it is looking really good. Also if there is any way we can get a save state retriver from the older/other emulators, it is all stored in the profile data. that would be awesome as well. Thank you and keep up the good work, cant wait to see the final release, and if you are looking into porting the PS1 core, the Mupen64 core would be nice also, as I have far more N64 games then ps1 games. There is still some work to be done with the menu system, but other than the contrast/brightness thing, I have no complaints about this. Also should note that vba next went to a black screen when loading gb and gbc games. Dont have any advanced games to test with, but as I recall the system itself played those games just fine. also the controls for prboom are horid. dont know if there is going to be a user interface for that, but I think it should be set up like a modern day FPS(Joysticks, and triggers, not dpad and y button for shooting.) I am sure that can be changed in the menu when it is all said and done though. Thanks for reading, as said keep up the good work.
  6. Not only was my computer stollen, but so was my external hdd, with all the ISO images i had for that stuff, and all of my license keys. I would download it, but, since I dont have my licence that means I would have to support piracy more then I would like. I know I didnt have a licence for the xdk, but that is because microsoft doesnt just give them to anybody, especially someone that just wants to mess with some homebrew apps.
  7. Still waiting on a test build myself. I can install rgloader if nececary, not a big deal.
  8. https://github.com/twinaphex/beetle-psx-libretro link to retroarch psx, it appears to still need ported.
  9. not really, just have to find a way to trick the connection to unity. you could set up a router that forwards everything going to jqe to xboxunity, but the files probably arent on that server.
  10. isnt there already a retroarch core fo the playstation on the 360?
  11. I have to agree, When I originally started this thread, I didnt think it was going to get much attention. So thank you to Swizzy, Maester Rowen, and the retroarch devs for making this a possibility, and taking the time to make the idea a reality. It appears that it was more work then I originally thought it would be, then again, I had no idea what the state of the original source was, or that each individual core would need to be fixed also, and then the original gui program also. But I can say for 2 or 3 poeple working on this in their spare time, while also maintaining aurora's new build is impressive at the same time. keep up the good work, and as I sad if you need any more roms for testing, I will supply them, or if you need some one to test this, just send me a link to the precompiled xex's and instructions.
  12. I thought you and maester rowen worked out most of the bugs in the broken ones. Still cant wait to see this updated version working. I wonder if the libretro devs will add these patches upstream, or if it is going to need to be done over and over with every release. Lets hope not, or we will never see updates. lol. I can see you fixing it once, but having to fix every version, that would be a pain.
  13. If I remember correctly, the xkey has its own wireless card for this, and doesnt get commands from the xbox via uart, or anything, so this would complicate this if for some reason you are in an area without a network connection, it wouldnt work. it is un fortunate, but I dont see this coming.
  14. I did this yesterday, so I will add the updated trainers, I did include a readme, that said to check for updated trainers over at xyzmods. I really put that together more for fresh rgh installs for my customers, but figured I would share my work. I was planning on keeping it updated, or putting out update packs, that would just overwrite the old ones. it is also a good starting place for you guys if you wanted to distribute a pack. Link to updated version. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pcgk4g77sdb2qn2/Aurora_Trainers_1-7-15.rar?dl=0 Note there will always be updates that dont get put in the pack right away, so use this as a starting point, then hit up xyzmods and check for updated trainers. Then all you got to do is overwrite the old versions in the aurora\trainers folder. I will try to keep updated versions going, or at least create update packs, that dont require downloading all the trainers again. Havnt decided yet. This version includes the black ops updated files. Didnt see anything else that was updated since yesterday.
  15. Yeah, It is quite anoying that you guys are releasing them this way, I am currently working on building a package that has all of the trainers included, so my customers dont have to do so much work later, the trainers will be there, and they will have access to updated packages I put together as time goes on. Here is the initial release, it has all of the trainers from XYZMods. It took me quite a while to get everything, so enjoy the easy download. Basic instructions included, did not note that the trainers are tu specific, so it might still be a good idea to read up on them over at xyzmods.com Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/s74absuu02od3au/Aurora_Trainers%201-6-2015.rar?dl=0
  16. From my experience, every coder has difference in the way they write their code. That being said, even if the code is sloppy, as long as it works, that seems like a decent fix to me. lol.
  17. Never hurts to try. lol. Maybe I can get squarepusher to do it, I have my doubts, but who knows.
  18. Any chance of a port of the mupen64 core? or is that something we are going to have to wait on the libretro devs?
  19. I am glad the roms I supplied you are helping get all these issues sorted. And thank you for also creating lua scripts to work with them. I might not get credit for this idea, but thank you for making it a reality. Still dont have a copy of the xdk, due to my stuff getting stollen, any chance you could post a link for the updated stuff, or is it going to be available on unity?
  20. When I use simple 360 nand flasher, I always just put it on the root of a usb drive, and then boot the xbox, and set my default path in a different launch ini on the flashdrive. the xbox checks usb for launch.ini before it checks the hdd.
  21. never had that problem, the hdmi one, sure, but the fsd/aurora crashing, and the plugin being loaded? the closest I got to this was aurora loading and the plugin crashing. Who knows? I dont. lol.
  22. if you are connected to unity, the file manager will tell you what is in the content folder based upon the title ID, it fills in names next to the title id, or you could just delete the game in metro/nxe.
  23. That is unfortunate. Either way, it is still awesome.
  24. That is unfortunate, why cant all the programmers just get along. lol. But seriously, they havnt released a new version in almost a year for the xbox 360, and the community, or you, saywaking(I feel he/she should be included, even though he/she didnt do any of the research to find you the source, or the original developers), and I, all seem slightly interested in reviving the xbox 360 emulator scene, and getting the emulators up with the latest dashboards. As I said, you keep working on it, and I will keep testing it. The only other core I care about would be the mupen64 core, but it would be cool to see all of them on the xbox running natively in the dashboard. by dashboard I mean aurora. and if you can get these cores to work with aurora without salimander, I see no reason not to do the rom cover flow, as if you choose to run a core without pulling up the rom menu, it wont load anything.
