Need Help, Run Shenmue 2 on JTAG

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Couple years ago my Friend gave me a Shenmue 2 Disk in DVD9. i played it on XBOX360 Elite 120 Gig (no jtag) without any problem.

right now i have X360 JTAG Slim 250 Gig. the console can Read the Disc but cant Run it. Says "Try Downloading Again..."

So i decided to extract the Disk, but errors occurs (with ISO2GOD ,XBOX360 ISO Extract and Qwix101)

at last i extract it with FreeStyle DVD Extract.

This is some of Disk contect :

Executing the Default.xbe will shows "Try Downloading Again..." Error.

well, thats all  can anybody help me to Run this Lovely Game ?

It's probably a bad reader in your console (the laser might be worn out?)

Try putting this disc in your computer, make it into an iso and extract it using exiso or something...

What exactly gives you this error?

My guess is that you were using the wrong mode for IMGBurn ;)

No, i am not kidding you...

A burnt disc should be readable using IMGBurn back to an iso...

Confucius says a 7.30gb container is still 7.30gb whether there's anything inside it or not :p

They also make good coasters for drinks...  or ghetto ice skates for the kids...

Seriously though, i've had disc's go bad before, after all they are polycarbonate (made from crude oil) and humidity and high temps can shorten their life. But they are supposed to last for decades.

BTW, I have only ever used cxboxtool for ripping original xbox games on the pc. I'm assuming this is an original xbox game, not a 360 game. I thought exiso was for 360 games... IDK. But if you do get a good rip on PC or xbox, then the next question is, do you have the backwards compatibility files installed??

exiso supports both Xbox and Xbox 360 iso's, i'm not sure what the structure is of the DVD9 versions of Xbox games, if i'm sent one such iso i can probably make it work with my own extractor, given a bit of time...

CXBOX Tool  says : "Shenmue II.iso does not seem like a XISO-File"

aslo chek the Disc (not iso) with AbgX360. Result : "ERROR: Media isn't recognized as an Xbox 360 game!"

i played this Disc on my Non JTAG XBOX360 Elite 120Gig. Just like the other X360 Games. put the Disc and Run

the problem is i dont really know this is an XBOX Original game or XBOX360 Game!!!

if you look at the first post picture, the Disc contain the "Default.xbe" file. i guess XBE is an XBOX Original executable file. and XEX for XBOX360.

so if this is an XBOX360 Game why contain XBE, and if an Xbox original why run normaly on XBOX360 Elite !!!

Xbox 360 supports some Xbox games, but you have to have the Xbox Backwards Compatibility update installed in order to do so, and yes, XBE is Xbox games and not Xbox 360 games...

It's a iXtreme specific version of the game... (made by your friend) this is why the ISO don't work with exiso (it's not a normal Xbox ISO)
