saywaking 289 Posted December 4, 2014 We love dashlaunch. We use dashlaunch. And updating dashlaunch is also some work. For changing settings you have to start dashlaunch from your gamelist, if it's hidden you have to display it or launch it with filemanager or even use ftp and a text editor. Dashlaunch consists of two pieces. The installation into the nand/flash and the launch.ini with the settings. Aurora is Homebrew. Dashlaunch is Homebrew. And they only make sense when people are using both. Well that is the original purpose. Aurora could be an API for Dashlaunch. We can have the possibility to change the settings from launch.ini with aurora. We only need Aurora for this. What i look forward into is modularizing the Aurora Plugins. We could have next to DLC and custom ModDB also an official Homebrew DataBase powered by Unity. We could select from our Unity Store/Database not only TUs but also homebrew that are updated with automatic installation. We could have a dashlaunch updater. There is so big potential in this. What do you guys think? Is it good to have the possibility to set launch.ini settings with Aurora? Is it good to have a community driven DataBase with TUs, Backgrounds, Skins, DLCs, Homebrew with Access from Aurora and Unity? Aurora is the next big thing...

Swizzy 2084 Posted December 4, 2014 Of course we only mean legal and free stuff TUs are also DLC No they're not, DLC is stuff you purchase from XBL, TU's are things you're prompted to download in order to start the game, there's a difference... Besides, DLC you have to accept licenses and shit to download, TU's... nothing... just a popup saying "you can't play on xbl without this installed, do you want to install it now?" gavin_darkglider 1562 Posted December 4, 2014 If you are thinking about a built in unity store, it would be nice if you could download official aurora trainers from it also. Also, a built in text editor would be nice. Not that it is really needed anymore, but it was a nice feature that was in the original xbox dashboard replacements, that I have yet to figure out why it was never implemented on the 360. Then again most of those dashboards used XML for their menu structures, and these days the only real text file is launch.ini
Swizzy 2084 Posted December 4, 2014 The reason nobody has implemented a textfile editor for Xbox 360 is probably that... there's just launch.ini that's really useful to edit... and... for that, it's easier to just use the Dashlaunch installer, or doing it on the PC it's simply not worth the work to build such a thing
