  1. somethings not right with the scan paths...will investigate and see what's what..... I think i need to have a tidy up on that hard drive as well as it's partially my fault, I have a couple of the games listed twice.... doh!
  2. on further investigation of a "Game" folder and the structure pretty much looks like FSD. could this be what's creating duplicates?
  3. Thanks, just the one path Irishdave mate. OK, I have went into delete and I chose a game that's displayed twice, and the path if i go to delete is the same for both of them. so for example, "are you sure you want to completely delete Metro 2033?" everything in path USB:new games5451084200007000 will be deleted. then if i back out and go to the next one it's exactly the same. "are you sure you want to completely delete Metro 2033?" everything in path USB:new games5451084200007000 will be deleted. What you think? I wouldn't be able to go through them all there's way too many, just something that's bothered me for ages.... corrupt database file or something...fresh install of FSD ?
  4. Guys, you might be able to help me now. I have loads of duplicate games listed under XBLA, it's been like that for ages. I only have one version of the game on the attached HDD and the game paths are set just to the root of the drive/USB - There's a couple of duplicate games under xbox 360 games but not as many as XBLA. I've downloaded and been looking at GaDaBaMa, and as you can see i have duplicates.... What can I do to get rid of them.... Thanks
  5. Seems a bit odd... well if your sure your on system 16537 then just create a folder called dashlaunch and copy 3.09 across to that and then run the default xex and follow the onscreen prompts and then follow what I said in #227 for you avatars. download system update 16537 and rename it to $$ytemUpdate and then go to stock dashboard and put your usb key in the machine it should then tell you that security updates are available blah blah and just let it update.
  6. oh just you posted that you had dashlaunch 3.07 in your thread. So how did you update... you used xebuild GUI or did you do it another way...... When your in dashlaunch then you save your ini by hitting right bumper and then scroll down to your hdd and then hit X it'll then tell you that you have saved your ini file.
  7. try renaming the file to $$ystemUpdate and not $$ystemupdate. (Capital U) there's a new dashlaunch out, 3.09 think is the latest. load dashlaunch and check under "behavior" that noupdater is enabled to look for updates @ $$ystemUpdate. (remember to save your ini file) As for the machine and your red light with the attached HDD. bit of a strange one that.....when did this happen? after you patched xell with your new nand...?
  8. it's just a theory so i'm not 100%, I've never had FSD installed from a USB drive you see, but if you think about it, when your machine is sleeping and then you turn it on the the USB attached drive needs time to spin up, if it's 5000 RPM or 7500 RPM, and then that's what got me thinking that FSD might not be able to load in time for it to boot on your first go...... just a stab in the dark with this one but someone might be able to help further.... yeah stick it on the attached drive and dashlaunch and all that even better get a small SSD for the one that's attached..ha....wooosh! Have fun.
  9. n00b... lol in FSD go to setup > settings > system settings > overscan
  10. I have a 300 gig attached to the machine for FSD and I have a 2TB via USB with all my games on, depends on your setup etc. you could just plug them both into your pc and copy all the contents from the old drive to the new drive. xebuild is for creating nands and that mate. Just make sure the new hard drive is formatted FAT32
  11. yeah would seem it's just the way of the walk matey..... >>>http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/2397-slow-boot-with-usb-hdd-attached/
  12. there are some sort options that you can do, like "just added" and "last played" and "user rating" etc. you can also do your favorites as well.. might help for now...
  13. general rule of thumb is to install FSD on the attached HDD, maybe your USB one isn't kicking in, in time to load FSD, then when you power off and back up the hard drive might be up to it's rpm.
  14. I was just about to post that you need to go into dashlaunch and set your paths in there for the machine to boot into FSD As for the games not showing then increase the "paths in FSD" to a scan depth of 4 or 5, it will take a little longer to scan as it's going 5 folders deep...if some of your games are deep within folders and the path depth is only 2 then it will not be searching deep enough for the default xex of the games. let me know how you get on. after you've changed the "depth of the paths" run a manual scan...
  15. fsd won't pick them up though will it if there not attached on boot.. ?
  16. Sounds like your getting there, has your mrs just allowed you to play with the TV (lololol) There was a post about slow boot times have a read here http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/2397-slow-boot-with-usb-hdd-attached/ Not sure if it's related but you could try and disable scan on boot in FSD settings, it might help as it's not scanning for new games when you start it up.. Go on get, dashlaunch installed ! you know you wanna!
  17. it must be there somewhere as you have a default launch.ini You could just create a new folder and call it dashlaunch, put the new "dashlaunch" in there and then run the xex by using xex menu or it might be picked up in your FSD all depends on what scan paths you have etc. but yes it will then prompt you to do what ever is needed, the launch.ini that you see runs on system start up you see which is created by you when you run "dashlaunch/installer" remember when your in dashlaunch to save your ini file after changing your settings etc. couple of words of warning though.... *** Before updating F3 make sure you go back to the default skin or F3 will freeze after it updates *** *** Delete all custom skins *** You could download the Installer.iso, burn it and then run it..... or follow the video and do it that way... or copy/ftp it across. Before you update FSD have you got many game images etc. it might be worth backing them up if so as shown in the video...
  18. Sounds like your nearly there then, if he created a update.bin file for you and you have updated your "xell" and have the official update from xbox.com then this will have sorted your avatars and stuff like that. xell = to dump the cpu key and dvd key and view the fusesets to build a hacked freeboot image, A Xenon Linux loader, it allows you to glitch the machine and run images etc. Dashlaunch, this runs before FSD when you power on the machine and you can change all matter of things in here, like what happens when you switch the machine on, you can make FSD load, there's loads of options in there that you can play with. it stops the machine from connecting to "live", taking updates etc. but will allow cover downloading if you have it set up correctly. There's lots of things that you can do in the settings of "dashlaunch" and it's always a good idea to keep it updated. You can set "paths" on booting, or holding down particular buttons etc. all depending on what you want your machine to do. There's also "behavior" "network" "timers" "plugins" for you to play with. just remember that when you change an option to save the "launch.ini" file on the HDD are your settings won't take place when the machine is started. (Launch.ini is a small text file that tells the xbox to do certain stuff) FSD speaks for it's self, it's an awesome piece of programming as you know so hats of to the team don't know where we'd be without the guys that made it... So back to your question, if you have updated your "xell" which by the sounds of it you have and your on 16537 dash then do you know how to FTP into the machine.? it's easy, run FSD or xex menu and then log into the ip address, use something like flashFXP (an FTP program for your PC) log into your machine and you'll see your hard drives etc. Then simply download the new FSD and dashlaunch and unzip them if they are zipped and copy them over to the respectful folders and then run xex menu and locate the folders and run the default xex within dashlaunch so for example, copy over the new "dashlaunch" and then run it and follow the onscreen prompts. There's also an "autoinstaller" I don't have a disk drive in my machine you see so I've always used FTP. here for example is my jtag.
  19. you don't want it connecting to the internet, it'll be blocked in "Dashlaunch" and also under security settings or parental, it should be blocked from creating a live account and also connecting to "live" how ever with these settings then you can still use link.JQE360 to play with other people online (as long as the games have system link then you'll be good to go) and download your covers and stuff. As for updating then there's an awesome automatic updater that will do it all for you, created by the team here, awesome work Or if you like then you can update the machine the old way. have a read of this if you have your nand and CPU key http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/2205-xebuild-108-update-tutorial/page-12 Once you have updated your xell to 16537 dashboard, then you can run xex menu, this is just so you can get the IP address, then what I do is connect using an FTP program something like "flashfxp" then I copy over the new FSD and also dashlaunch, and then run the xex of dashlaunch and follow the on screen prompts. Once you have this all updated then you can install the official system update by renaming the update to $$ystemUpdate and putting it in the machine when it's switched on, after you have updated your xell of course, the official system update will then sort your avatars out. Few ways for you to do it mate. If you enable "beta" updates in FSD then i think it would then let you know that there's an update out for FSD and download and install. So there's three stages to your upgrade. xell, FSD and Dashlaunch. Give us a shout if you need a hand were all here to help and you'll be up and running with your new dash in no time. Cheers
  20. what about "disable scan on startup" enabled..... should help as it's not scanning for new content on launching the dash.
  21. if you guys can get to xell and download your CPU key and "nand" then have a little read of this it might help you...let me know how you get on. (this is the old way but might revive your machines) http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/2205-xebuild-108-update-tutorial/page-12
  22. excellent glad to help.... guess you'll need the system update after this
