Swizzy 2084 Posted November 11, 2014 There is a solution, burned DVDs (4,7Gb) to read with full speed?? (RGH+Original drive) THX! There's nothing you can do to increase the read speed... it should be running at full speed already afaik...
xbox360user 3 Posted November 11, 2014 Origonal xbox disk read = Full speed Traditional written DVD5 (data disk) = 3,5 ~ 4Mb/sec read speed Somebody said other site....burned DVD5 not available security sectors, therefore only 4Mb/sec max. read speed. This is true ?
Dr.Gonzo 392 Posted November 11, 2014 In the past there was a iXtreme multispeed firmware (1.6), where you could adjust the speed from your DVD Drive. The second possibility was to use the iXtreme BHS Speed Changer. With him, you could set the Speed of the DVD Drive within the DVD firmware.

This is true ? If it's true, then it's all in the dvd firmware, and there's nothing you can do to solve it from the console's point of view, you'd have to replace the DVD Firmware, etheir way... i don't think there is such a big difference in speeds between DVD5 and DVD9 when it's between Pressed (original) and Burnt media... BL4K3Y 96 Posted November 11, 2014 An XBOX 360 DVD-ROM reads at 12x speed as far as I know, but older firmwares had the option to change the read speed (ix1.6 - ix1.61 if I recall). However, an older firmware will not boot XGD3 originals or backups, so this isn't really an option. A hard drive will have much quicker load times than reading from a disc and since you have an RGH console, you have the option to install games to a hard drive and play without the discs.
