thats your router giving the xbox a different ip. you could assign the xbox a pernament ip on your router settings.

Login to your router as administrator and you can manually assign network addresses to devices.

its not really something you can explain as each brand of router has a different menu system.

The Basic explanation is once assigned to that device then the network will not give that address away even if the device is turned off. Its in effect reserved for your xbox only.

this how least my settings looks like.  from 1 to 10 is range that each device will change ip address  meaning that reaching limit its like gonna permit any new devices to be assigned or joined ? iam not sure at this point.

but ip address's switches mainly from router settings. some routers have temporary ips and some have pernament. not much iam on to this again. but

mainly its easily understandable.

can you post your router model ?

ps. iam using sweex.

you need to give your xbox a static IP.

Right now you have it on automatic so it will changet. Go to network settings on dash and set it to manual. First make note of the default gateway as you will need to set that as well

set your ip to 192.168.1.7 there and it will not change again
