F3 long boot & game load time

Hi!

I'm using F3 3.0.483 and DashLaunch 3.0.6. F3 is on internal HDD. Dashboard 14699.

F3 is loading a longer time than should, 30 secons text 'Finalizing skin environment..' is shown. And console is not totally freeze during this, I can press 'Guide' button or enter on FTP.

When I load game (or homebrew like XeXmenu) with F3, I also wait 30 seconds before game starts loading (no black screen on smth, just freeze the picture). No matter the device type where game is (internal hdd or usb hdd).

Original dashboard loads game without this delay.

Han you help me in this?

Also, why don't you tell us more

How many games on your HDD
What USB ports are you using (front, back, inside?)
How many usb does your hard drive require, does it have an external power supply?
When did this first occur, and what did you do differently?
What Layout on FSD are you using, classic, etc..

Thats better...

One change you should do...

hddalive = falsetohddalive = true

Why: This can cause HDD timeouts when playing games. When you game, it loads a map and it will be in your xbox cache, it will load the next map when required, if your hard drive falls a sleep, you'll get "Unreadable disc"

1. 61 games, 48 arcades

2. 2 front ports (my USB HDD uses both)

3. 2 usb (2nd for extended power), no external ac power

4. I transferred from FSD2 (used it a year) to F3 around month ago, and weak ago started to notice this. I can't connect this issue with something certain. Just added some games and DLCs to HDD.

Use the back usb. usb at the front is like usb 1.1, they share the same system bus amonst other things at the front of the xbox

The USB at the back have its own dedicated USB bus (for slims anyway, not 100% sure for Phat)

FSD should run ok from a USB HDD, but try running it off the back USB ports and let me know.

You shouldn't have issues with the classic layout, its what I use too.

Are your games also trying to download a tonne of covers?

No, all game covers are already loaded (5 for each). Also 'scan content at startup' is off at F3 settings.

Changed to back usb, nothing changed.

Maybe I can try to clear F3 cache or smth? (Without clearing my settings)

Have you avatar/kinect support on it too?

Maybe try upping your kernal to 15574+ with avatar support. It shouldn't matter but I've never came across anyone on your kernal using FSD3

When I power on my xbox, I get the FSD init/ screen for about 20-30 seconds, I know FSD2 it booted quick, I prefer F3 for indie games support.

But as for your games taking 30 seconds to load, thats weird. Are your games converted to GoD, or do you just upload all the files.. Your hard drive could have way toooo many files for the console to index off a usb.

Don't use kinect. I have avatar.

All games are converted to god, I always avoid small files.

Can I try to remove cache or reinstall F3 but keeping my settings?

You can install FSD onto another folder say "Freestyle3" instead of your FSD3 and change that in your launch.ini, see how a new install will do, and keep your old FSD as a backup if it made no difference. I
