first, thank you for the fast reply so i guess there is nothing we can do its such a shame that system link as a wonderfull service is being destroyed by greedy people from the outside and by cheaters from the inside.. what the f*** is wrong with people??

usually system link had issues only at weekends, but lately its disconnecting all the time. its not only my problem, since it is happening to everyone i know. for example you get disconnected from a room at random and you have waaay higher chance if you press on system link and search for rooms. i dont know why its happening since there dont seem to be more players online than usual. is link having issues? is there anything we can do to help?

suprashake and morpheous if you have a stable connection you are more than welcome to join us at black ops 2 . i dont play much now, because of holidays (will play today), but after new year i will probably play every day. we usually play every day from 7pm-11pm CET.

this is the problem. we also did not want to use passworded rooms, because we want new players and players with good connection, to be able to join. but because players with really bad connection were constantly joining (room leader was unable to play, because he had to kick all the time), we were forced to lock up the room. cheaters are not a big deal, because you can kick and block few cheaters (people who are cheating in a non-obvious way are a problem, but since it is impossible to prevent cheating there is no point talking about that), but people with bad connection (either from south america or their sister is watching youtube) are comming in masses and it was just frustrating to kick all lagy teleporters. i asked if we could change the ping patch limit from "disabled" to 300ms, so that if u get ping higher than 300ms, you would disconnect from the host, but i did not get an answer.

So is it possible to just change ping limit number? Why dont we do that? And set it to 300ms or something? If someone has more than 300ms ping to the host than he will drag down the connection and lag. Its better for everyone that he goes to a different host. And setting it to 300 is really so no one can complain. If this would be implemented even hosting in public room would be fun.

is there a way to change the ping patch limit? instead of disabling it for example if we would be able to change the value from 30ms to 250ms? if i understand correctly the host constantly pings everyone that is connected to his game and if the player has a higher ping than 30ms he gets disconnected. so why cant we just change the value to 250 instead of disabling it?

i also hate cheaters. but really there is nothing you can do. as has been said they probably have more than 1 account and they can make as manny as they want. when nova will be released there will be an voting option in public rooms. when you see someone cheat you can vote for him to get kicked and than other people in the room will get the notification to vote. and if he gets x amounth of votes than he will be kicked for 2 hours i think. and aslo if you are a good player, people will just say you are cheating which is retarded. the way that we solved the problem was to make a private room with a password. gaming on system link has never been soooo much fun. only people we know have the password so only they can join. if you want to enjoj a lag and cheater free game than come to Black ops 2. we are mostly from europe so arround 7pm CET we start (if you are from brazil than dont bother, because the ping is waaay to high...).

with 10/1 i could only join games but when i get my new connection i will be able to host. and yes i am using limiter now, because there are 2 other people that are using the connection, so i defined min 5mbps download and 0,7mbps upload for xbox and the highest priority so that i had enough bandwidth at all times. but now i dont know how much should i reserve for xbox.. guess i will have to try different settings. was just wondering if someone knows the values.

than what is max upload and download that i would need to host? i will get 25/5 connection and i dont know how much should i give to xbox with bandwidth limiter. and i am sure there is max upload and download that you need for hosting and i was just wondering if someone knows the value. i think for upload it is bellow 4mbps.

Does someone know what is the max download and upload speed that xbox 360 can handle? or even better how much upload and download is more than enough so that you can host in black ops 2? i use bandwidth limiter so that my xbox constantly has enough internet and highest priority, but i dont want to hog connection above what is needed.

instead of making a kick system, maybe we could make "trusted person" where there would be a list of all link players that have played in last 7 days (so that it would not show people that dont play anymore) and you can vote for someone that you trust or give him minus points. and if a person reaches lets say 30 trust votes, he gets the abillity to kick in public rooms. i know atleast 10-20 people that have never missues leadership and kick only dirt bags. or we could do trusted person and vote to kick. than we could clean out all the obvious cheaters.

holding guide button is an excelent idea! why is the person that is voted to get kicked get a vote? in my oppinion the one that is voted to get kicked, shouldent get to vote and for someone to be kicked atleast 4 people have to vote to kick him AND the ratio has to be atleast 66%. i play atleast 25h per week and i do think that 2 people to vote to kick someone will be missused sooooooo much. i think even 4 is low. but i see another problem. lets say there is a room that counts 32 people. but in that room there are 4 partys, each with 8 players. than someone votes to kick someone just because he doesnt like him or he is better or ........ and than everyone in the room gets the notification for voting. and than some random players from other party vote to kick just because they think it is funny. and i do know this will happen a lot. its not that i care about this since i play in public rooms less than 2h a week, i just want to help make nova a better place. and it all comes down to the fact that there is almost 0 punishment for cheaters. if the ban would be 3days, and if they get you one more time than you would get 7 days i think that people would cheat way less in public rooms.

oh i see this makes sense. but when i make a request to kick someone will it be displayed as a pop up to others or will it be displayed as a notification? because if it is displayed as a pop up in the middle of the game i can see it being missused a lot to annoy people. but if it will be displayed as a notification i dont think that people will bother to go under rooms/people/keep, which means if i make a request to kick, people will have lets say 3 or 5 min to respond and 2 of my friends press kick as well because we dont want to play with a guy and others dont bother to press keep because they dont care if that guy gets kicked that this system will not work. there has to be a minimum participants rule, where atleast 5 or 6 people have to vote to kick AND also 66% of votes need to be for kicking that person. i really love how you guys are trying so hard to make system link a better place, so i want to atleast help with ideas.

how will this work since a room has max 32 players but for example bo2 has 18max people in a party. lets say that 17 vote for someone being a cheater, this will be less than the required 51% to kick him. as far as i know nova is not able to determine how many and which people are in which party, it can only see which people are in which room. also i do not like how most people are so soft on cheater, i mean 30min kick is a laugh. it should be 3+ days in my oppinion. everyone knows that cheating is not allowed and if you brake the rules you should be punished. and a nother thing is that those who cheat really obviously are a problem only in public rooms. in my oppinion those who cheat really good and you are not sure if they are cheating are a bigger problem. because u dont want to label someone as a cheater if you are not 100% sure and this brings a lot of disstrust among the best players. and also loads of time ur being blamed as cheater or known as a cheater and kicked out of rooms if you play really good. voting system that will require a lot of people will not be used in my oppinion, but voting system that requires less people will be missused a lot so i do not see a point in implementing it. also if the cheater will be banned for only 30min its hardly worth it. also if i am correct if you do get banned you can just sign inn with a different profile and your good to go. but again as i stated before cheating is not the biggest problem. i think that the router settings or even a bad router are causing most trouble on system link. because multiple devices are connected to the home network and are updating randomly and also other familly members downloading or watching youtube and hogging the connection. for example for some people you need 2-3x more bullets to kill him. so even if such a person is not using cheats he actually has 2-3x more health which is a huuuuuuge advantage. other weird thing that happens when u play against people with bad router settings is they can kill you atleast 2x faster. you shoot at them and then you watch the killcam and it shoows you didnt even shoot and they kill you. the worst part is that the cnnection bars on cod show only some aspects of the connection quality and someone with 2 bars can sometimes be easyer to kill than someone on 3 bars. or not. i waaaaaay rather play against someone with no recoil, than against someone with weird connection.... i do know that there is nothing we can do to fix this issue, but atleast give us the option to block wifi users in private rooms. idk if aurora can see if you are on wifi or not, but if it can please make an option when creating a room you can check a box that says block wifi user from entering. most of people on wifi are on wifi because they enjoj having an advantage.

i am from europe (slovenia) and yes the link works really great again, just at weekend it is disconnecting a bit. oh also rooms are not loading a lot, but when you do come in a room everything works. its really strange that it does disconnect at weekends, because there are not more people online than usual.

we are using a room with password now and its a lot better. but still cheat protection would be amazing. at least for those few cod games that 95% of link players play. public rooms are unplayable because there is atleast 1 or 2 cheaters per room (1-2 who cheat soooo obvious and probably x people that can hide it really good). but cheating is not the biggest problem on link. its the shit router settings that people have. they dont even bother to google a bit and atleast set bandwidth limiter. and than they complain that it is laging... (sorry for being off topic but just want to say that system link is really stable latelly . it is occasionally still throwing people out of rooms at weekends but its waaaaay better that it was so thanks a lot)

everything is working on my xbox for a long time now, so i was not sure if there is tutorial section and since i am on vacation the wifi is really bad and i didnt check before i wrote. but there are loads of people on bo2 that are on tu0 or dont have dlc. i also heard that people had huge problems with compatibility packs in advanced warfare so i guess they do not know of the tutorial section. this is why i suggested that it would be nice if it would be promoted more.

We would need tutorial section or something like that where we would be able to post tutorials on how to apply dlc, compatibility packs, router settings....... And also we would have to promote the tutorial section, so that everyone would know where to go when they have system link problems. Maybe it exist but i dont know about it. If it does we need to promote it. For example when you open up rooms list on the bottom where it says tu 15 is available (even tho tu 18 is out for more than 1 year) it should say if you have trouble with dlc,.... Go to .....

1) in bo2 when connection is just a bit bad the voice lags really bad (most of players play bo2) 2) agree. There are public rooms for that. But if i make i private room i shoul have the option to block anyone i like from entering 3) just replied to your comments, because they were selfish and people like you who think they can drag anyone else down just because they want to play make me angry and destroy otherwise great system link And about the troll. I agree. You always have public rooms to play when your on vacation. Things that are frustrating on link are: - when its disconnecting - cheater - people with bad connection Really funny how most of the problems acure because players are just selfish bastards that only think about themselves. I know about several people that play on wifi because they dont want to spent 3min to set up wired connection. And also i know people that cheat and just dont care. We would not need a block button at all if people would not think only about their ass but would consider what is best for the community and how we all can have better experience together. Since this is not the case we have to block or make it so that we force them to use wired connection.

My connection is not that good. I cant even host if there are more than 12 people. I have 10/1 connection which atleat in europe is average at best. But i have done all i could to make the best out of what i have. I flashed tomato on my router, i drilled a whole in the ceiling so that i can have wired connection, i set up priorities and limited some other devices. I spent a lot of time on google so that i figured out how to set up everything so that i will not drag down others. And than people like you who are bored at vacation and want to play, no matter if all others will lag or people who dont even bother to go on google and look up how to correctly setup their router join the game and mess up the connection. And than jou say i am selfish And another thing is you want to search for players that speak english so that you can talk with them? The first thing that stops working when 2 or more people with bad connection joins is voice. So whats the point in finding people that speak english if you will not be able to talk to them during gameplay? And about your idea.. Why would i care what language someone speaks? If he has a decent connection he is more than welcome to join.

Then dont play those few days and rather hang out with family and friends, rather than dragging everyones connection down jist because you want to play.

1.) I know you are not on vacation. 2.) I am on vacation and i didnt bring my xbox because the wifi here is really bad and i would drag everyone else down. I guess i am really selfish. I play hearthstone while on vacation. 3.) And yes we block probably more than 45% of link players because of the connection, but not because we want to but because the game was unplayable with those people. So either we block 50% of link players so that the other 50% pkayers with decent connection can play or we let anyone join and the game is unplayable for 100% of people. What would you do? 4.) If the block option would not exist we would not be able to make open private rooms. There are people with really bad connection that were constantly connecting to our game and the room leader was unable to play since he had to kick all the time. And also some people cheat all the time. Why should we allow them to play with us? Yes we are bad people because we block cheaters. Everyone knows that cheating is not allowed so they should take responsibility and consequences of their action. And besides even if we block cheaters you still can make a private room and they can play with you I do not understand you dustin.. We want to have an open private room because anyone with decent connection (and no cheats) is welcome to join us.
