  8. Here are some of the features you get with this mod: FULLY ADJUSTABLE RAPID FIRE FULLY ADJUSTABLE BURST FIRE CUSTOMISABLE DROP SHOT CUSTOMISABLE JUMP SHOT QUICK SCOPE FAST RELOAD GOW PERFECT ACTIVE RELOAD BATTLEFIELD AUTO SPOTTING JITTER MIMIC AUTO AIM AUTO AKIMBO TOOLS & MATERIALS THAT YOU WILL REQUIRE: Torx T8 screwdriver or small flat head if you don’t have a T8 Wire strippers Hot glue gun Soldering iron Lead free solder MATERIALS Kynar wire 14 Pin Rapid fire mod chip Tactile switch Controller Identification Before you get started you need to make sure that you have the correct controller type for this installation. Our XBOX FUSION Chip requires a CG or CG2 PCB inside your controller. This chip CANNOT be installed into a matrix style controller. The images below show the board from inside the battery compartment so no need to open the controller fully. GETTING STARTED The first thing that we need to do is open the controller. The controller is held together by 7 retaining screws (below) Remove all 7 screws and remove the back of the shell. Lift the PCB out of the shell and place the shell to one side. Now flip the PCB so that the thumbsticks are facing upwards. Remove the thumbsticks by pulling upwards to make sure they don’t get damaged during the installation. There are 2 PCB variations that we can use with this mod chip, the CG and CG2 boards and the connections for both types are exactly the same. The PIC chip in the following illustrations is shown with the legs pointing upwards in the dead bug position and notch underneath to the right. There are various versions of the CG1/2 circuit board so yours may look slightly different to the one below but as long as it is a CG all connections will be in the same place as on the diagram below. CG1 / CG2 INSTALL R3 RIGHT STICK CONNECTION The connections for the chip are as follows: NOW TO FIX THE CHIP IN POSITION: Use a small spot of hot glue and press the chip down into the position shown below with the legs facing up and the notch underneath to the right so the chip is in the dead bug position. CONNECT THE WIRES: Now follow the colour codes on the previous wiring diagrams that corresponds to your controllers PCB and connect each wire one at a time to the chip first then the corresponding point on the PCB as shown in the diagram. Make sure to follow the wire colours shown on the diagram so you connect the correct pins of the chip to the correct parts of the PCB. For the connections to the A,B,X,Y and BACK buttons you will need to scrape away the black carbon ink from the contact pad to reveal the copper underneath as shown in the photo below by the red arrow. Then solder your wire direct to the copper. Remember to keep your solder small and neat as your button will be pressing down on top of the pad when you put it back together. The red circle highlights the connection point for the RB connection also. CONNECTING THE TACT SWITCH: The tactile switch in your kit will resemble the one pictured (below). There are two pairs of legs, and each pair shares one side of the switch. You only need to use one pair from one side of the switch. You will need to drill a hole in the bottom of the controller casing to push the pole part of the switch. We have tried various locations, and you may have a preferred location yourself, but we have found that the one in the picture below is the best. Drill the casing in your preferred location. The hole should be marginally larger than the pole of the switch to allow it to be depressed freely. From the inside of the controller casing, glue the switch in position along the outer edges (using the hot glue gun) so that the switch pole protrudes from the outside of the casing. Once dry ensure that it can be depressed correctly otherwise you will be unable to switch modes. Once the switch is in place and the glue has set, attach the wire from the PIC chip to one leg on the tactile switch. Attach another short length of Kynar from the other leg on the tactile switch to GROUND pin on the chip as shown on the previous wiring diagrams. The last thing to do is create a bit of room for the chip so we need to remove a small piece of plastic highlighted below. Either cut or melt it out using snips or the tip of the soldering iron. ALL DONE! All the connections are now complete, so you need to put the controller back together. Ensure that you do not trap any wires whilst doing so. Route your wires so that they are neat and tidy and will not get trapped or cover any of the button contacts when you put the shell back together. It helps to use spots of hot melt glue to keep the wires in place and avoid pulling on any solder joints. To reassemble, simply reverse the process that you used to open the controller. Once it's all back together refer to the operating instructions for your new rapid fire controller.
