The09phoenix 1 Posted March 5, 2016 So I am just gonna be blunt. I have no idea what the problem is. I have been on a FFXIII kick lately and played the first one no problem ( even 1000/1000 GS ) then I had the whole default.xex thing happen. Worked for weeks trying to figure it out. Then I played ffxiii-2 had loads of dlc ( mostly all the out fits but also the arena, casino and Val halla ) and the show up but will never load. So I just play through the game and ignore it. Now I am playing LR -FFXIII and I have a bunch of dlc for this one too but same problem. At first I thought maybe it was because I had the NTSC-U version and my DLC was PAL but I got ahold of a PAL xex for this one and it's doing the same thing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I realize that these dlc are really only a reskin and serve little more than atheistic purpose but would really like them to work.. I want to play as Cloud. Swizzy 2084 Posted March 5, 2016 Make sure they're unlocked (use XM360 or 360 Content Manager for that) then make sure you have the appropriate TU installed (latest should have support for all DLC) once that's done, also check if these DLC's require a XUID patch or not (some do, most don't) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The09phoenix 1 Posted March 5, 2016 I actually thought about that and got a PAL version of the xex and it's still the same issue that the game recognized the dlc and allows me to "purchase" the items but the "sprite" never loads . BTW Swizzy, this is the first time I have ever heard about xuid . how do I check that and fix if necessary. The09phoenix 1 Posted March 5, 2016 Yea your xuid is also only 15 char. Mine is pretty similar. But it's seems it's not an xuid issue but a region issue. I have been reading a lot of forums and from what I can find it seems that the dlc is region locked tighter than a virgin in a whore house on payday.. Now I just have to figure out how to get around that.. It seems I have a region 1 profile and region 2 game/dlc and that is apparently the issue. The TitleID is usually the same for all versions of the same game while the MediaID isn't, it might be that you need to replace more then just the default.xex as each version of the game may have different resources, and if it then tries to load some that don't exist in the version you had from the start, it may crash... it's best to always replace the entire game rather then try to replace just the xex or something... of course, if it's to fix a corruption or similar it's usually enough to replace the xex... as long as it's the same version as you had from the start... Profiles are not region locked, and the part where DLC don't load cross region is due to different versions of the game with differences in the address of where things are actually stored/loaded from etc. (mainly where certain functions/resources are stored) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
