Teejo 0 Posted January 30, 2016 So I made a huge mess with my xbox 360, I had the oldest aurora and used xexmenu to just copy and paste the newest aurora. What I had to do to launch it properly was to manually go into content manager and run the aurora.xex. So Im wondering if someone could please give me a guide on how to delete everything aurora related (no games) and freshly install it again. btw when I start up my xbox it opens the old aurora and nothing works there. I currently cant even open the file manager because it doesnt even shows up in the xbox botton. It wont even show up the temperatures. thanks alot

Teejo 0 Posted January 30, 2016 Sure... http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/6611-fable-3-with-all-dlcs/?p=56247 Let me know what part of that you have trouble with. did that and it worked at first, but when I turned off my 360 it booted back in the old aurora. Also if you press the xbox botton on your controller you see theres a few options there like file manage, temperatures, etc. Well that doesnt show up in mine anymore. I was playing fable this morning and when I tried to get back to aurora .5 it didnt showed up anymore.
QuattroGam3r 508 Posted January 30, 2016 Sounds like you either have another launch.ini or you didn't point dashlaunch correctly. Can you post your launch.ini (using spoiler tags) and let me know the exact path of your Aurora install. Also check your hdd, usb and flash for a second launch.ini. Should only need to check the root of each.

QuattroGam3r 508 Posted January 30, 2016 FTP in or use a file manager to check the three locations I just mentioned. If you don't know how to ftp in then just use a file manager in Dashlaunch, FSD or XEXMenu and just copy it to a flash drive and put it on your PC. Then you can open it with a standard text editor and copy/paste it here inside spoiler tags (third icon from top left in the reply window)

My aurora directory is Xbox360/System/Hdd1/Aurora do I copy both to my pc? ; launch.xex V3.0 config file ; parsed by simpleIni http://code.jellycan.com/simpleini/ ; currently supported devices and paths: ; internal hard disk Hdd:\ ; usb memory stick Usb:\ ; memory unit Mu:\ ; USB memory unit UsbMu:\ ; big block NAND mu FlashMu:\ ; internal slim 4G mu IntMu:\ ; internal corona 4g mu MmcMu:\ ; CD/DVD Dvd:\ (not recommended to use this one) ; buttons can point to any xex, or any CON with default.xex in it on any of the above devices ; note that Right Bumper is ALWAYS default to return NXE ; if you want to assign an additional one, use the path Sfc:\dash.xex ie: ; BUT_A = Sfc:\dash.xex ; all comments and fields in this file are optional, you can remove anything you don't need ; sorry for any double negatives ; njoy, cOz ; example entry ; Default = Hdd:\FreeStyle\default.xex [Paths] BUT_A = BUT_B = BUT_X = BUT_Y = Start = Back = LBump = RThumb = LThumb = ; Default is what loads when you hold no buttons ; leave this blank if you want NXE as default Default = Hdd:\Aurora\Aurora.xex ; at boot time, default can be overridden based on how the console is turned on ; if you start with wired/wireless/IR guide button, this item if existing will be used instead of default ; note that the Guide item is ALWAYS overridden by option: remotenxe = true Guide = ; if you power on with the button on the front of the console (or the power button on a remote if remotenxe is not set to true) ; this item will be used instead of default Power = ; if set, going to system settings from HUD will run this app, override with Right Bumper Configapp = ; if set, this will be run as a title before any other option occurs, does not get circumvented by held buttons or default ; guide/power opts are processed after this; intended for a short video player to allow replacing bootanim Fakeanim = ; by default this only dumps to UART, setting a file here will cause unhandled exception info to be dumped ; as text to a file. if not present default is FALSE fatalreboot = true ; setting this to true will cause the box to reboot (soft reboot) the way it was intended to ; on jtag ONLY set this to true if using blackaddr's reboot fix for SMC, else on reboot you will get E71 and corrupted dash/video/etc settings ; if not present default is TRUE safereboot = false ; when set to true, it is possible to hold RB when launching a game to have the region that the game gets from xam spoofed ; if not present this is set to FALSE regionspoof = false ; if not present this is set to TRUE noupdater = false ; when set to true, dash launch will put all debug strings out to uart ; if not present this is set to FALSE debugout = false ; when set to false, dash launch will not attempt to handle last chance unhandled exceptions ; My aurora directory is Xbox360/System/Hdd1/Aurora do I copy both to my pc? That's what I figured. So open Dashlaunch again and make sure the changes are set for your default dash under paths, then go back to the save/load screen and make sure you save it in hdd:1. You will probably notice a checkmark next to the one that is currently loaded, that one is the one that's most likely wrong. edit: One is overriding the other and going to FSD check your PM

The xbox button on my controller still isnt showing the temperatures, and giving me the file manager option and all that . Its shows as if it was a normal xbox
QuattroGam3r 508 Posted January 31, 2016 Somehow your Freestyle plugin isn't loading then. Make sure it's set to load on launch in Aurora... make sure it's even there in Aurora/Plugins.Also make sure to do a full reboot You can check what plugins/modules are loaded by pressing back button while on Aurora's main screen.

Im such a dumbass , finally all fixed, my xbox now starts up with aurora .5 and everything is now working, I had the plugins unloaded. But thats alot for all your help man I really appreciate it! You can check what plugins/modules are loaded by pressing back button while on Aurora's main screen. It's the FSD Plugin that's responsible for ALL visual HUD changes, Dashlaunch have a feature that if you press and hold the guide button it'll popup a messagebox showing you all the temperatures... but... that's not the same as this Also, you don't have to do anything to the one in Flash:\, it should probably just be ignored as any writes to flash have a chance to corrupt it (the chance is fairly small, but should be avoided if possible)... a launch.ini on HDD1:\ will override anything in Flash, a launch.ini on USB#:\ will override anything on any other device, you can see which one is read first in the readme

Oh well, now i know. Thanks Swizzy. Yeah, I knew USB would override, but wasn't sure if flash was read before hdd or visa versa. I checked the readme and info_launch.ini, but probably skimmed over it too fast, lolz. In that case it sounds like he was writing changes to flash before, but it was reading from hdd1 when launching. I'll make sure not to recommend writing to flash in the future, makes troubleshooting easier anyways now that I know the ini read order.
