saywaking 289 Posted December 25, 2014 Hi The TU function "clear all" cache and content for TUs. I want to know how the TU system works? Does Aurora has own TU Database? I see it applies updates. But what else? Does it copy the update but where? Does it affect to other TUs when we clear all?
Swizzy 2084 Posted December 25, 2014 The way the TU system in Aurora works is that it copies each TU it downloads/finds to the Data directory, one folder for each TU... you'll understand if you browse there... It also adds the information to the DB so it doesn't have to parse it out every time it needs to find a specific one... When you use the function to clear TU's it essentially runs a scan in the directories you'd normally find TU's and makes a list of TU's to delete (all it finds) then it deletes them one by one... When you then start a game and have a TU "Enabled" it'll copy it to the correct location again (apply/activate it) however, in recent versions it checks if it's already there before copying... if it's there, it'll not apply again (copy again) but if it's not there... it'll copy... The TU's stored in Aurora's data folder are never touched once they've been put there, unless of course you manually delete them using the filemanager or FTP server...

Or when we delete from the coverflow/TU Manager, otherwise it would be trash or the intention for deletion would not be accomplished.

That to, sorry forgot about that... but, basically... it doesn't delete/modify the files unless you tell it to by using the TU/File Manager and/or FTP
saywaking 289 Posted December 26, 2014 What when we downloaded but not enabled the update? Will it be enabled while gamestart because i read "applying updates..."
Swizzy 2084 Posted December 26, 2014 What when we downloaded but not enabled the update? Will it be enabled while gamestart because i read "applying updates..." It always runs that stage, it doesn't matter if there's any updates to apply or not... They're only applied (copied) when you have them enabled...
