alteregotist 0 Posted April 12, 2014 Hi all, Just wondering could anyone help. I have a rgh xbox 360 slim with latest freestyle dash on it. up until yesterday i was using a 1 tb external drive for backups, movies, homebrew etc. Everything worked 100% but was running out of space. I was given a present of a 2tb segate external drive (big sales on all segate external drives over here at the moment). Anyway... i formatted the 2tb drive to fat 32 and transferred all the contents of the original 1tb on to the new 2tb drive. everything copied across successfully and there were no errors at all. I plugged in the new 2tb drive to the xbox 360 and managed parhs etc. and set everything up again as necessary. now any time i go into games and select a game it gives the error..... (x) game error The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again. For more help, visit www.xbox.com/support. i originally tought the drive might be corrupted or the data was corrupted but i just tried extracting one of my many xbox 360 games to the external drive now and when i attempt to play it get the same error. The fsd is recognisng there are games in games section and displaying them all. Before the transfer there was no problem with any backups etc. but now it doesnt not seem to be working for anything. Is there a known problem with 2tb drives and should i revert back to the old drive again or is it just something silly ive overlooked. Just wondering has anyone experienced this before and is there a handy way around it or can anyone help. Al.
alteregotist 0 Posted April 12, 2014 sorry i should have said when the above error is displayed it boots me out of fsd and into the original xbox dash. i have to press xbox button on controller and select freestyle home to get back into fsd. irishdave 236 Posted April 12, 2014 My guess is you forgot to install the avatar/kinect data that would be one thing that didn't copy over as its in a separate partition.
Swizzy 2084 Posted April 12, 2014 My guess is you forgot to install the avatar/kinect data that would be one thing that didn't copy over as its in a separate partition. Not with external harddrives... External harddrives have a hidden folder named "Xbox 360" which contains that information, for some reason i doubt that's the reason... the most likely reason is that he messed up something with F3 and needs a freshinstall or that some game data didn't copy properly...
