hihi 0 Posted August 13, 2013 Hi everyone, Let's say I want to update from FSD3 older revision to a newer one manually without using the built in update function. Is it as simple as delete the old FSD folder, and put the new one in? To keep the database, simply bring over the data folder. All done? In the data folder, there is XlinkKaiData folder. Since it is replaced by link, that folder can be deleted right? Another question is, will the built in update function remove all obsolete folder? Or it is similar to what is done by manual update? Thanks.
irishdave 236 Posted August 13, 2013 why not just do a clean install, and re-download the artwork, wouldn't take that long as for the xlinkjaidata folder, your best to leave it in place until a fsd rev has it removed. FSD will still have some old unused code that will require that folder.
BL4K3Y 96 Posted August 13, 2013 An FSD2 database won't work with F3 as far as I know (assuming you are updating from FSD2 to F3). A clean install/download would be your best option.
hihi 0 Posted August 14, 2013 I am updating from older revision of FSD3 to a newer one. Anyway, it's true, no point of making it complicated, I'll just start a fresh installation
