All consoles are pc's in a box.. lol.. just depends on the coding language, and the hardware specs, that makes em different.. since ps4/xb1 use x86 architecture this time around, they are more closer to pc's.. hence why m$ can do the play anywhere titles, because the games dont have to be converted lol..

But yeah atari, nes, snes, playstation, gameboy's, sega, all of their consoles are pc's lol..

I agree with you to some degree, the cpu is usually the interesting part & usually sony / microsoft make consoles with far ahead technology. In other words, you get a respected machine for multimedia.  It doesnt make sense to own an xbox, ps4 and a pc considering all the console games are going to run on PC, what a waste of money and space.

I believe the initial price point of the ps3 is the cause of all this madness combined with how hard "Coding" on powerPc is.

  2. My brother's ps4 was collecting dust in my room for a year, this console generation is rubbish. However, there are few promising titles coming in 2017 (Horizon, Last of Us, God of war, etc) mostly exclusive to say the least.

I think ps5 will be released in 2018 to compete with scorpio. The only true "next gen" console is wii u; the others are simply pc in a branded box.

I hope Sony/Microshaft switch to IBM

Have you ever considered it was the wrong timing file for the chip type? there are RGH1.2 files for the Ace/DGX and there are timing files for the Coolrunner. They use different xilinx chips, on the chip, so require a different timing file. If RGH1.2 doesnt work, try switching for an ACE chip, and do S-RGH. There are always other options.

Im goining to use the alternative points today (for both PLL and CPU RST) and report back, for some reason Im not receiving notification anymore on this site.

Some of your soldering looks sub par. Chances are that has something to do with it. Also, are you sure you are flashing the right timing files to your coolrunner? There are files for the ace, which would not work on a regular coolrunner, as it uses a different xilinx chip.

Cuz I had to reroute the wires more than 5 times if not more. In addition to that, I didnt clean it with alcohol.

I have RGHed many consoles, this one is a pain in the ass.

what kind of issues? Screen shot please.

  6. Greetings,

I'm facing a problem as illustrated in the video link below (trying to boot xell), I tried both CLK points (the on top and the bottom of the board) with no luck. Ive followed all the common practices, etc trimming the wires and wire paths. At last, I flashed back the original nand dump, it gives RROD (0022) in 3-4 seconds when both CPU_RST or CLK are connected to the glitcher. Otherwise, it boots normally when either one of them is disconnected from the glitch board.
    Here is my wiring:htt

    Glitch/Nand Reader Product(s) used:  J-R Programmer, CR3 Rev C (Clone I believe)
    Console Type: Jasper
    NAND size: 512Mb
    Dashboard version: 1715
    CB version: 6754
Screenshot of NAND details from J-Runner/Xebuild GUI: nothing special there, retail nand.
    J-Runner/Xebuild Gui log:
    updflash.bin log (if applicable):

Im currently using this clk point

    Description of problem:

Failing to get into xell, console boots fine when CLK or CPU_RST is disconnected from the glitch chip.

Was the console working before you started: Y

Do you get a green debug light appear on the RGH chip every 4-5 seconds: Y

How long is the light on for each time:

    3-4 times per second.

    Video link:

for some reason, Im getting two video windows even though I placed one video link.

about to install the app... wld let u know if i am able to play the game on my jtag. thanks again

if you have a jtagged/RGH/ or whatever hacked console running a modified latest dashboard as of now, then yes your xbox will run all games as of now.

i don't think it actually attempts to use the DVD, but, it initialize SATA which initiates communication with the DVD

I have a modified the latest muppen and it works on hitachi, not sure if this is relevant to your message.

The latest code for both are on https://github.com/libxenon and https://github.com/free60

I have a script posted somewhere on here that should install/compile the latest version of every lib required to compile all the libxenon homebrew on github including the toolchain...

The issue is in the toolchain, breaking changes to the driver for HDD/DVD communication... i'm fairly certain it would work in mupen64 if you just get libxenon working again...

For the record, the red screen means there was a fatal exception, usually caused by a bad pointer ;)

    Sent from my SM-G903F

Why you would need dvd communication anyways if you are running mupen64? Im not a dev or experienced programmer but I remember to get the latest muppen to work on hitachi drive.

I would also suggest removing the resistor on the top side CPU_RST point, and bridging the points. Then use the point on the header by the CPU for CPU_RST. Also, try putting the coolrunner on the cpu heatsync, so you can keep the wires as short as possible.

    Tried that already.

Well, i'm the rude one ;) i'm more used to people wanting to sell me xboxes etc. Or having me fix and sending back... since i don't live nearby and shipping being generally expensive to send a xbox to sweden i'm curious as to why, obviously if you simply want to know what you did wrong (if there is something you can do differently in the future to prevent the issue) you can just send me pics of your install, or remind me to send you pics of mine...

thanks for your kind words, aside from your obtaining your soul, I was interested to know what's causing the issue, I had a huge debate in two of the modding forum and the conclusion was simply "its a stubborn" jasper. I should note Ive installed RGH successfully on many machine all scuessful with 3 glitch cycles at max (first cycle usually the case)

    P.S

I have 90% DHL freight discount on all outgoing items for real -.-"

Jasper isn't "unglitchable", infact... RGH 1.0 is super stable on Jasper if you install it the correct way, i used a 68nF cap between GND and CPU_PLL_BYPASS and had boot times that were faster then retail quite frequently on Jasper ;)

I do have the board, it glitches once and I do have the CPU key. As I said in rare cases few Jasper are "stubborn" as they call it.

I can can send it to you along with the DVD pcb and a glitch chip for free. You can mod it and sell it for over 150$

if you fail however, Satan would grant me your soul.

  13. Gavin, told you, I only had one unglitchable jasper, in my last attempt I sent t to a workshop but the console doesn't glitch, I still have the board and I can send it to you. I myself have installed glitch chips on few consoles to be frank. In addition to that, some modders suggested to use the alternative points to achieve glitching.

I cant see why R-Jtag is an option to go for nowadays, by simply adding 100  nf capacitor to the glitcher you can instant boot times on most Jaspers.

The reason I'm ditching R-Jtag is the current given documentation by the makers suggest the use of CR4 knowing that they forgot to program the chip to work on phat consoles during the manufacturing process.

Okay, seems I had fewer consoles than I thought. I have one Jasper on 7371, and another on 12625. Let me know if you're interested in either or both, and I'll send you all the details and pictures. Gavin is right, with a minor expense for a glitch chip and some basic soldering skills, the higher dashboards are easily modded. The only thing the JTAGs have going for them is insta-boot and you can get the diodes/resistors at any local electronics shop.

Ok kindly pm me your best price for the consoles

My R-JTAG boots in 2 glitch cycles, 4 at most, that is 20 seconds longer, than a regular jtag boot time..... And I have the demon installed, so I can still use live, and not have to worry about getting banned. it is a win win scenario.

R-jtag is a rip off by team excited, the new cr4 xl chip doesn't glitch fatties anymore.

Rgh1.2 is solid and can be done with many glitch chip.

    Mid recommend ace
