  1. ... most stock drives in newer consoles are locked, so they cant be flashed at all without some sort of hardware hack. eg. Sputnik switch, kamikazi,..., etc. The best advice anyone can give is find out what drive your console has, and check the jungle flasher tutorial.

    In your opinion, yes.

In my opinion, if it's a slim box and the person has never flashed a drive before, they can achieve what they want with ftp. And not risk losing their drive or having to waste money on hardware. When the end result is the same. Especially considering it's already rgh-ed. My personal box is a Jtag, and has some form of firmware on there, I don't even know anymore. But, the truth is I haven't actually used my drive for ANYTHING since 2009. Unless the person has a huge archive of already backed-up discs, I fail to see where the risk is enough to justify the reward.

edit: They don't flash the drive with ftp. They transfer their backups. But after reading his original post, he straight up asked for jungleflasher. I'm sorry I attempted to discourse some common sense and discourage him from giving Team Xecuter more money.

  2. Make sure your 192.168.137.13 is your xbox and not your laptop. IT appears to be your laptop presently, you need to forward the ports to your xbox Ip address, and should reserve that IP for your xbox only, so you don't have to adjust it per boot.

  3. titleid = hexidecimal to me, I use to keep them extracted in the game folder, titled by the name of the game. Some of my games would only boot from GOD. So I switched to GOD a few years ago; and I tried raising the scan depth. 4 should have been enough to do it. LOl two should have been too. 00000000000 was the start file. Unless someone else posts the same problem, i realize how insane this sounds. So I made this video of my bedroom in need of a maid. Surely it's on my end; to be just one game, too. (AFK) But what it is.... beyond me at this time.

Sill uploading, so give it a few. I'd skip the first minute, and somewhere in the fifth I was pretty bored. Maybe you'll throw up, probably won't. :(

Edit: Reconverting the game, and rebooting have solved my issue.

  4. Aurora won't display my GOD of Skyrim. Grrrr the one game I actually play on my box. Displays and plays fine in the other dashes. Other games are appearing and playing. I'd attempt to start it manually, but GOD means I'm not sifting through the hexidecimal folders to find it. I checked with all the filters on/off, show hidden files, blah blah blah, back to fxmenu I go.

  5. Yes it's possible. Especially when you consider the 8yr old still has more power than most smartphones. Nothing released for the public to date, that I know of. So, no. Spam the MIT students, I'll bet you $50 at least one has already written their own API for it.

MS- won't be doing one (I don't work for them), they may cave in to demand and share the first public release with retail units.

  6. Insanity's cliff notes:

This is how you enable an option, that we haven't got the balls to do, on our $179 system. Which we paid $500 for. But We'll follow up in 2-3 years when they only cost us $200. Because we're to lazy to register with MS as an Indie Developer

That's what I gathered from his talking. :)

MS announced a long time ago they were giving devkit abilities to all retail kits. If you do do this, you should probably take the time to register. (Free by the way, which really surprises me, since the greedy bastards charged $25,000 per kit on the last console.)

  7. Since the skin creator's box died (or so I think I read once), and klarkito works at my pace, I grew impatient. You can now use the TUMGR again. I did a bit in settings too, attempting to replace Xlink Kai crap with Link. But decided I'd rather be rubbing one out. Therefore, all I really did is break the settings. :)

If you use this I'd set everything up in Default, I know if you click on system settings you'll see they're not assigned properly and clicking on fan settings in system settings or Xlink Kai and you'll find a skin freeze, and have to reload fsd with the guide. Other than that be sure to place the arial.ttf the original author had with his dl, into the media/fonts folder, or the words won't align properly. (I didn't include it, maybe jpizzle would be nice enough to in the site dl, if he even does that, after all I'm NOT the author, and the author did originally request people not do, what I just did.)

  8. My best guess-

if it's only happening with bo2, probably a mismatched region code in the dlc. Some boxes freeze when they encounter errors, some don't and display the error. Probably has to do with how you told fsd to handle crap in dashlaunch.

I had this problem with an rgh box, and one of the map packs. Turns out I had a different id of bo2 on the rgh, than my jtag. And it would fatal crash/freeze. Copied it's version of BO2 to my Jtag, boom wrong region popped up.

  9. So does the start button do anything in Diablo 3?

I'm curious, as nothing ever happens when I press it. In game or not. During loading while it's displaying press start. notta.... I have to press a, to get the screen that asks me for which memory source to save with. The button works fine. All though I have that button remapper app saved somewhere, I've never used it. I'm content with default controls.

  10. problem is.... the people on this site, already have one. If you want one to sell on this site, you have to do something crazy to them or sell them at a loss.

  11. A hardware dump should expose all present bad blocks, if your comparisons show some too, try to manually remap them and see what happens. If any of them are in the first 50 though, don't listen to me. If memory serves you really shouldn't remap bad blocks if your flashing method remaps them automatically. First 40 or,50 blocks would be xell, and you'ld lose the ability to boot it and recover the console should something bad happen. Something bad always happens around me. :)

PS- Yeah I think a nandx is a hardware reader. IDK I used MartinC's tut and made my own before the Jtag hack was around. Never had to pay attention to the wars of "our reader is better than yours".

  12. The older the kernel version, the less games you'll be able to play. I.E. to play GTA 5 you have to be on the newest dash, or at least that's what I'm gathering from others postings. It's always been like this, and always will be for majority of the future games. That's the only reason we get off our asses and update our boxes.

By going into your system settings on NXE, you'll be able to determine your console's present kernel.

    system settings -> console settings -> system info = Dashboard - 2.0.?????.0

AutoGG will be able to update the kernel for sure, it may be able to include other apps too, depends on if blackcats gave it the ability to do that. I don't use it. But it's one of the easiest ways for beginners.

Whatever you do, before applying any new image be sure to save two copies of your existing nand dump and a txt file with your cpu key.

Did the guy you purchase the console from give you any kind of dump files, backup files, etc...?

To run the latest versions of FSD, you have no choice but to update the kernel, unless you are already past I think it was 14197. or around that ballpark. But yes if you take your time and read the autogg tutorial and how to understand it's GUI. You should learn everything you need to know about your console, worst case scenario (assuming you save your cpu key and a copy of your present nand) it'll do it for you automatically, not display any console specific info such as your patches in use. It'll update the console and you learn nothing. But you'll be updated so who gives a shit. I think I remember why I never gave that app a chance, the english translation was horrific. Maybe try Jrunner. But I don't think Jrunner can dump through your lan. So you might need to google an app that can dump your nand via the console side. Flash360 sounds right for that job, or maybe it was 360flash. Ahh as the night gets longer I get drunker :)

PS- Google is your friend. http://www.homebrew-connection.org/files/xbox/nand_flasher/dl_Simple_360_NAND_Flasher_v1.2.rar

launch.ini is always in the root of which ever memory source you are booting from. I.E. harddrive, usb hd, usb thumbdrive. These many apps come with files called readme.txt (usually) they're called that, because the devs actually want you to READ them and learn how to use them, or tell you about what's changed.

That pretty much ends my helping you.

honestly man... quoting a statement and asking a question that's already answered in it.... I can't help you anymore while remaining nice.... I understand you're scared/paranoid to take that leap, but it must be done. This is one of the reasons I stopped setting people's boxes that came to me. I found the easier I made it for them the more they harassed me in the future. sorry and good luck. YEah I'm an asshole. :)
