  2. Method 3: use swizzy's asset editor to pull the covers, and plug em in fsd using gabmadama or wtf ever it is.. hahaha the person could've picked a better name tho..

GAme DAtaBAse MAnager... Gadabama, pretty clever actually. You can also just upload them to FSD using the web interface, since Gadabama can be a bit of a chore to setup.

  3. i've searched most of the day for different things about this xbox360 not just here but the whole internet.

funny you post that that was exactly what i asked on another post.  feel dumb asking this in two different posts might get hit with a warning but since you brought it up

so if i delete a game path in aurora that game path for the same game will still be there in fsd3 though?

but if i download a TU in aurora that TU will now be present in fsd3

In either, I believe TU's need to be scanned to show up. My understanding is that both Aurora and FSD copy TU's to their own directory, I might be mistaken though.

  4. i want to upgrade but i'm just afraid i'd  mess up everything and i really don't have the time to spend searching and searching as to why this doesn't  do that and why this doesn't do that....

Well, there's no reason to get rid of anything you already have. Just installing Aurora doesn't mean FSD won't work anymore, although you might find it gets used less after Aurora  .  I still have FSD installed, as well as XEXMenu etc.

But anyways, that's why there's a whole forum here to support you. If you have any questions, ask away... Most questions have already been answered on this site though, it's just a matter of searching/researching.

  5. When i boot xbox, i want it to start with MS dash, then choose from MY GAMES or RECENT GAMES Aurora. Now i can choose Freestyle or Xexmenu. Both of these, i have in code9999 folder, so i guess Aurora should be there too.

So question is, what should i do, to be able to choose Aurora or Freestyle from MS Dash.

Look for a program called Quickboot (2.1? me thinks) Then you can make a shortcut that you can install to CODE9999 folder.

  6. Hi, I have similar problem, I want add sound beep to coverflow movement, for now i've done some modifications for a skin like arcade machine, with minimal options for the normal users, but, i want add this pretty sound when the user change game selection o the coverflow .... any ideas? ... xuitool and xdk are ok for me ... regards

Felida has made transition sounds before with XYZGen skin, I think everything but coverflow movement and camera angles has sound. But i'm not aware of any transition sound for coverflow yet, if it's even possible. You might need to try to do it yourself if that's what you're after. Maybe take apart an FSD skin and see if there is something to be learned there, as they used to use sounds for coverflow.

  7. ok so i have a copy of red dead redemption on my hard drive its split into the folders disk one and dsik 2 how ever theres no install disk as both folders have a default xex any ideas how i ftp these folders to my internal hard drive so that aurora dash will see the game and allow me to play it

below i atached pix of the situation i need to ftp these folders to my games folder so aurora will see them as a game

I would imagine it's the same as any other install. FTP into Games folder and create a single folder called Red Dead Redemption, or how ever you feel like spelling it, then Put disk1 and disk2 folders inside that. Make sure that you set the correct scan depth and scan for new titles afterwards. Is there a specific problem you're having with FTP? Have you tried something and it's not working??

  8. Actually, Dashlaunch comes in 2 parts which are generally part of the NAND at build time (launch.xex and lhelper.xex) these are what really is dashlaunch, the configurator/installer is what many call "Dashlaunch" tho because that's what they see, lhelper/launch.xex don't present themselves visually, unless you look in flash:\ on the console...

True dashlaunch is more than just any one file, I didn't figure any of the other files would be very useful without instruction from launch.ini though. Didn't mean to make it sound like launch.ini was the only thing DL installed, lolz.

  9. What if I replace the NXE/Metro Dash XEX with the XEX from Aurora?

Maybe redirected to the HDD with the files?

Even if that worked, what would be the point? Launching Aurora without dashlaunch seems silly in this case, you still have to disable the freestyle plugin to use local system link.

There is a reason XeBuilds include a launch.ini, so your flash partition has one. Then even if you accidentally delete the one in your hdd/usb you are still protected. I just don't see a reason to have a JTAG/RGH without dashlaunch.

  10. Hello All!

I have copied Aurora 0.5b into my xbox hdd. However I do not want to use Dashlaunch since I would like to connect via system link to my brother's xbox in the same room.

Basically even with a router without internet connection we are able to connect and see games in the lobby via the Xbox's native system link and so we do not need Dashlaunch and the "system link" via Unity and the "LiNK" features.

However we both love the Aurora 0.5b launcher but are struggling to have it launch on boot without Dashlaunch or without digging into XEX or FSD file system... hence the question...

"Is it possible to use Aurora 0.5b without Dashlaunch"

It will be sad to see that we will have to give up on Aurora if using Dashlaunch is compulsory in order to set it (Aurora) to launch on the Xbox(s) booting everytime. Why is Aurora dependent on Dashlaunch?

I hope my use case scenario makes sense to all.

    Thanks in advance  :)

I don't believe the problem here is with dashlaunch... If I remember correctly, you need to disable the Freestyle plugin in Aurora for local system link games. Otherwise it always tries to connect over the internet to LiNK.

Without dashlaunch (launch.ini actually, dashlaunch is the configurator), you will only boot to NXE... and will get your console banned by M$ (due to no liveblock).

  11. I disabled liveblock but still not getting anything other than the covers. I am trying to get the synopsis for Xbox classics. is this possible? if not how can i do it manually? Help would be appreciated. I am using aurora 0.5b. Any suggestions?

You won't get synopsis for Xbox Classics because Xbox.com only lists Xbox 360 and Xbox One games... and some backwards compatible titles like Ninja Gaiden Black. The only way for now is to edit the db yourself. If you install sqlitebrowser, you can FTP in to your 360 and open up Aurora's database found in Hdd1/Aurora/Data/Databases/content.db. I made a post about it here and even a pretty little picture of it here. I have scraped Synopsis/Descriptions from places like GameFAQs, Gamespot, Metacritic, etc. etc.

You can also use the Aurora Asset Editor tool to upload banners, backgrounds and screenshots that are missing in Xbox Classic games... I've done all of them for my classic games.

I think swizzy said there may be another way to do it in Aurora 0.6b, but don't quote me on that.

I would honestly like to see all assets hosted from Unity, including changing Marketplace Rating to Unity Rating etc. But, that's just me.

  12. So I originally made Spread a while ago but decided to revisit it to fix things and add new stuff. V2 is the same original look but now includes all extra views which I had never finished. I also based a couple of views off of Rising Phoenix. Spread was originally designed to go with the S.H.I.E.L.D skin by Sm0k3 Tr4c3r, but feel free to try it out on your favorite skin as well.

Unzip and install to Aurora/Media/Layouts/<file goes here>

Enable by pressing "B" then tab over to Theme and Select Cover Layout

    Spread V2 by Quattrogam3r.zip

  13. Besides, this brought me a feature idea to aurora for noobs, maybe Aurora should Create Standard Folders with Path in first installation or try to find for certain folder patterns like Xbox360 so Aurora automatically sets a correct Path to that. I dunno, maybe nice to have if you look for extra bonus features for userfriendliness.

That might be problematic since (I think) Aurora runs best on internal and many/most people store their games on the external. Maybe if it was an option during setup, like:

    1. Select this if your games will be installed on internal hdd
    2. Select this if your games will be installed on USB0
    3. Select this if you would like to manually set the path

Then maybe Aurora could create those paths for either of the first two options, or you could manually enter them in if you have a custom path. Might be more hassle than it's worth though, since most people's games are already installed where they want them. Also, since there's no installer for Aurora yet, it would have to be a config option, or a utility script in 0.6b (or later). Good idea though.

  14. Yeah got shot a few times through walls & once by a projectile that appeared to go round a corner & got me,i'd seen the player in front a number of feet & fire the weapon, the projectile had a trail so i moved down an alleyway (there is now a wall between that player & myself) a few feet & the dam thing followed & appeared to turn around the corner as tho it had some sort of lockon

Haha, reminds me of a 1984 Tom Selleck movie called Runaway where they shoot smart bullets... Yeah, thats Gene Simmons from Kiss firing the gun.
