Total Uninstall of Game, including TU!

Recommended Posts

Greetings to you all,

I have two Jtag Xbox's . Using external HDD's for the games. I have GTAV installed on the first, No problem,

I bought my 2nd Xbox, sent it away to get Jtagged, on return, I added a mirror image of the 1st Xbox HDD to the 2nd Xbox's HDD, which included GTAV. However, the previous owner of the 2nd machine had installed GTAV using his DVD disc, which I do not have, Now when I want to play GTAV of the jtag, I am told an TU is needed. I manually downloaded the TU (17), latest version, updated.  But then the game goes to the screen that tells me that the XBOX needs to perform an update to get the game to run and goes back to the original XBOX screen, out of FSD.

I am thinking that there are traces of the original game from the previous owner and reckon if I could remove all traces of the original installation then I can just use my origina GOD image of GTAV from the 1st Xbox?

Hope this makes sense.... Please send advise....

  cheers

All you have to do is delete dlc/tu and gamesaves... now you should be able to play the game as-is

Thanks for your prompt response, where will I find those particular folders? On the hd1 or on the external hd.

Adding.....

"This game has been updated to an incompatible version....an update is required",

Then the screen flickers to.....

" A system update is available from xbox. If you decline...."

To which I always so NO....

Go to NXE and delete them from there ;)

I was trying to use the file manager on FSD, but have no idea where to find these folders... ( newbie , hangs head in shame)

Press the guide button (big X in the middle), press Y, hold RB while you accept... voila! you're not in NXE... now go to the settings menu (--->) and find "Memory", here you'll find all game related items... delete all stuff related to GTA V (except for the 4 install files) and voila! you should now have just the game... and, now try to play the game...

Ok! Got into the "Storage" navigated to Games&Apps folder, scrolled down to GTAV and deleted a 70meg file.....

Feeling pretty chuffed with myself, rebooted.... and the went to GTAV in FSD and got the exact same message, incompatible version game update...blah!Blah, so now I went to FSD File manager, deleted the entire game from the folder, went to the Storage using NXE --> Games&Apps---> GTAV had reappeared, so deleted that also...

Now went back to my other Jtag Xbox that has a working version of GTAV and am busy copying that entire folder onto a flash to copy over onto the 2nd Xbox...

I shall report back......
