UDP Fails with LiNK. Router issue??

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

This is my first post...I have spent many late nights scrolling through forums reading about this issue, I am now at the point where I am wondering if it is just my router.

I'm really sorry if this is the wrong forum.

So... I have dash version: 3.0b Rev775

Kernel Version: 2.0.16537.0

I have followed many tutorials.  I have my ports forwarded and have tried numerous different port numbers (normally returning to 3074 and 3075), I have tried adding them as one rule, and also individual rules for both TCP and UDP.  TCP passes on both ports everytime, on the rare occasion UDP passes on the data port but 95% of the time UDP fails on both data and broadcast ports.

My router is a Technicolor TG589vn V2 VDSL/ADSL supplied by my ISP.  I have tried it both with upnp enabled and disabled at the router and in LiNK.  I have also tried it by assiging an IP to my console and DHCP.  I did also try using DMZ.

JQE360 Auth passes as does Devlink disabled and Ping Patch enabled.

I have tried to use the system link but I always get the 'unable to join session' error.

I'm kinda at the point where I accept what I didn't want to all along, the router I have is just a cheap and nasty unit that ISP's love.

When I check my router event log it shows the following message after I run the test in LiNK:

Posted Image Jan 29 23:48:34 FIREWALL rule : Protocol: TCP Src ip: 188.165.241.137 Src port: 43716 Dst ip: 192.168.1.97 Dst port: 3074 Chain: forward_host_service Rule Id: 3 Action: accept Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image Jan 29 23:48:33 FIREWALL rule : Protocol: TCP Src ip: 188.165.241.137 Src port: 56110 Dst ip: 192.168.1.97 Dst port: 88 Chain: forward_host_service Rule Id: 1 Action: accept

Does this mean anything?

Does anyone have any suggestions or can point out something I may have overlooked.

Thanks heaps

Routers can cause issues but the only way to be 100% sure if its the router is maybe borrow a friends router or take your xbox to a friends and try it there :)

The ports on my xbox/router are set to 1000 and 1001, and I have port forwarding enabled for that, so make sure you have that setup too
