F3 "System Link Patched" HTTP Interface on WiFi?

Recommended Posts

The title is a little hard to write regarding this question.

So, I apologise for any confusion.

I recently revived an old 'Elite' console I accidentally killed via flashing a blank NAND to is a few years ago.

Since then I've been using a 'stock' XBox 360 S (Limited Halo 4 Edition).

I recently acquired a Nand-X and CoolRunner Lite, to attempt the RGH on my 'S' console.

Only that didn't go so well, as I couldn't get the console to start. So, I returned the NAND to stock and left it as normal.

But, to try and gain something from the financial and time consuming venture, I decided to see if I could do anything with my old 'Elite'.

Which, worked like a charm.

Anyway, I've been away from the JTAG scene for a while and it's all new and exciting to me again.

FSD3 is amazing.

I remember it being a basic yet functional alternative dash, back when JTAG was still a 'new' thing.

I'm really liking the progress on it.

Well, it's the new features I'm here to ask about.

Loosing official Smart Glass support was kind of a bit of a disappointment initially, but I dealt with it as the features I have access to now far outweigh the loss.

But, discovering the HTTP access to FSD was interesting.

Now, my console is connected to my Mac via Ethernet.

And my Mac is set up to share it's WiFi connection to my console.

This is how I've got my XBox accessing the internet features for FSD. (primarily for game cover downloads)

I don't use WiFi on my XBox as I gave my WiFi adapter away long ago, back when I original killed my Elite console. And as the 'S' consoles have it built in, I never saw the need for it.

Now the HTTP interface has some nice remote features, especially the "Launch" button on the game lists.

And I thought that would be a great feature to be able to use on my iPad.

The primary reason I had Smart Glass on my iPad was for the launching of games remotely, in a less-advert-filled menu.

But, as my Console is connected to my network by 'piggybacking' through my Mac, putting in my XBox's IP address into my iPad doesn't work.

So, I'd like to know if there is any way of accessing the HTTP interface from my iPad.

My setup is as thus:

Internet --ADSL--> Router --WiFi--> Mac --Ethernet--> XBox 360

                                          --WiFi--> iPad

  • Router - Connected directly to the Internet though ADSL, everything connected to it via WiFi. (Ethernet not possible due to location.)
  • Mac - Connected to Router via WiFi. 'Sharing' Internet access to Ethernet.
  • iPad - Connected to Router via WiFi.
  • XBox 360 - Connected to Mac via Ethernet, connected to Internet via 'Sharing'.

What I want to do is use my iPad, which is connected to the WiFi, to access the HTTP interface on my XBox 360.

(Sorry if the colours are distracting, I thought it would help reference things better.)

If this isn't possible, it's okay.

It's not like I'm loosing out on anything major.

I was just curious if I could do it.

Sisee, out.

In windows there's a way to make a "bridge" between the Wifi and Ethernet, you probably need something similar for your Mac...

Just having internet sharing doesn't solve the problem, however... if you bridge the connections your computer will become a switch connected to wifi and having only 1 ethernet port xD

Thanks for the reply.

I think this is beyond the technology I have to be honnest.

I think as my Mac is the only thing that can see my consoles Ethernet IP, in this current setup it's not possible for me to connect 'throught' my Mac', bypassing its own WiFi IP.

It was just a thought.

Nothing ventured, nothing lost.

Have you tried googling a little on what i mentioned?i found these this morning when googling, i don't have a macintosh machine myself... but... i googled on the same keywords again "mac bridge wifi to ethernet" which is a suggestion by google as you type "mac bridge wifi"http://www.mulle-kybernetik.com/weblog/2013/01/bridging_a_wireless_and_an_eth.htmlhttp://maybeageek.wordpress.com/2013/01/30/bridging-ethernet-interfaces-under-os-x/I'm sure that if you search for a little bit you'll learn exactly how to do it with a mac... it's much easier with windows it seems ;) [ in windows you simply select the devices to bridge then right click and select "bridge" and it'll take care of everything for you... however, you can't allow internet sharing while having the bridge... but... that doesn't matter as when you bridge it'll be connected directly to your router and thus have internet access anyways]
