Saves and profiles wiped from 4gb slim

Recommended Posts

on fsd 735

All my saves and profiles are randomly wiped from the internal flash memory of my 4gb slim.

Now I've been using a usb stick instead for a while and all is fine.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I'm just going to stick to not having anything on my internal flash memory.

I use the internal flash (4gb) for save games, avatar items, themes and gamerpics only. Never had this problem.

Maybe you've got your house on an Indian graveyard lol ;) Flash units do tend to ware out but I never had this kind of problem before. A faulty MU maybe?

Yeah I was thinking faulty but isnt the dash on that same chip? One would think if it was playing up the whole xbox would be broken.

The Dashboard has it's own place that doesn't depend on other memory devices. I have a 4 Gb model with a 500 GB HDD. When I was installing a new fan I simply removed the 4 Gb chip so that it doesn't ask me where my save is everytime I play a game cause it's annoying. Everything works as it were a 250 Gb model :)

Interesting

What version is your slim?

Mine is a corona v2. Is your memory unit a plug in pcb? I don't think mine is if i remember correctly.

It's a Trinity if I remember correctly. What do you mean by "plug in pcb"?

Can I install the FSD ON THIS 4 GB XBOX INTERNAL MEMORY?

You can but it's not recommended since it wears off over time. Plus FSD runs slower on it compared to a HDD.

Is it a plug in unit or a chip soldered to the main board. From what I can find the dash is on the same chip on the corona v2.

Have a look here. Corona Identification

I think there was a chip underneath the MU but I don't quite remember because it was a long time ago since I removed it. Mine wasn't soldered (the 4Gb chip), i just plugged it out.
