lm assuming you want my launch.ini strangely it has very little in it compared to what l usually see posted unless it has something to do with the update tho l did see 2 *.ini files with launch in their title so l will post both. heres what the launch.ini contains and heres what the other file titled info_launch.ini tho l will note if the second file is just an example (l wasnt sure) then where else could dashlaunch information be saved. reason l ask is that all prior settings l made still seemed to be saved from the previous version for example l turned on the live block function.

annoyingly my xbox has started freezing while playing games, the first time it happened was while playing bullet witch, prior to the freeze my wired controller kept disconnecting the game glitched when l died and upon trying to return to the dash it froze and the controller lights went out. l dont believe there is a break in the while tho as the controller was recently replaced due to just that issue however the controller does seem pretty loose in the port tho it was the first time it happened, however l started playing the new metal gear solid game went past the cut scenes and played about 5mins into the game tho while l didnt get any controller disconnections the game suddenly froze the controller lights went off and l had to restart the xbox. lve no clue why the last 2 games caused this issue as to my knowledge heatwise the console never left the never went beyond above approximately 45c, the games are all extracted to the xbox hard drive and the only difference between the games is one asked me to install (the second one to mentioned) which l accepted stupidly so there might be another version of it installed likely in god format which l will have to check. the one other thing l can tell you is that recently l upgraded the dash which required me to update to the latest dashlaunch so l could use the update method over lan which to my knowledge went fine as l updated to play Thief which required the latest dashboard and l played the game from start to finish with no issue whatsoever after the update, castelevanias only issue was one that allegedly is pretty common where l kept on getting an undefined error (l played that after the update as well according to google). the dash update method l used was posted elsewhere using xebuild which contained the update files which required me to run a *.bat file however from what l see it only runs the command to update the xbox that would normally have been used for going through the command line (l was just being lazy as l couldnt get jrunner to work on my OS (kept on bitching that it was a 16bit program trying to run on an incompatible 64bit OS (Win7). this issue is confusing me, lm wondering if its controller related if its disconnecting so fast the console is picking it up as a problem. l dont think its a RROD issue tho l couldnt tell if it was due to the LEDs being modded (ld ask the original modder but lve not seen him round for a few weeks, and lve been playing on it fine for the last six months) temps always seem reasonable, the only other thing l can say is l have been using retrobyte trainers for inf ammo cheats and the required TU updates. on a final note of interest, lve no clue about the wiring and while lm easily able to flash phat consoles l dislike opening up to take pictures of the wiring however l can tell you that the board is a Jasper (512mb version l believe) and that l believe the heatsink was taken off the falcon that died that l originally had as it was a better heatsink than the stock one. any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

the update did work, and my dash is now on 16547. l had a similar issue with saints row (the last one) except that was the opposite.. it would only run with a TU selected.

l managed to update with xebuild, someone uploaded the command line version but pre-set with a *.bat file so all the data was there. tho l still had problem with the game (Thief) until l realised that it was the TU that was causing the reboots, l didnt even know it was selected, l dont even remember downloading it.

finally managed to update using another program but FSD reboots every time l try and load theif (the new game l purchased) it gets further than it did before the update but l still cant actually play the game.

lm having issues, for some reason l cant run the update or client mode read function. l keep on getting errors regarding my 64bit of. the notification window says "specified executable is not a valid application for this OS platform", and the error that pops up when l press update off the update mode tab pretty much shows the following attached error. am trying to update my dash so l can play a new game.

the problem is even when turned off via its still active when the original trigger is pressed frin a cold boot (even if l changed the buttons on a previous boot), and if l unload the plugin which does disable it completely l loose other parts of the plugin that l need like the ability to use the file browser from the guide button for example.

wouldnt help, when l boot up again for another gaming session the keys revert to back+start even if they are set different l have to go back in and set it again to make sure it doesnt affect things when l start trainer using start+back as a trigger.

l want to completely disable the ability to screen cap.. or at least make it so the triggers dont revert.basically lm known to use the occasional trainer from time to time, the original triggers for screen caps seemed to be back+start which l did change to random buttons lm likely to never press at the same time.. problem is regardless of what it shows when l turn on the xbox for example LB+RB starting a game with a trainer that uses back+start as a trigger will always result in screen caps even if l untick the box that activates the screencaps triggers/plugin. so l end up having to go and change the buttons every time l plan to use a trainer otherwise it always results in screencaps.is there a way to completely disable that part of the plugin without loosing other parts as l noticed quite a few options were disabled when l disabled the plugin that contained the screen cap options.suffice to say ld like to know of a way that would permanently disable the feature without loosing other parts l use because changing triggers (even if they show as my last set ones) revert every boot and unticking the box that controls said options doesnt help either as it always seems to be active.

lve set parental controls to block everything that notes anything to do with xbox live and live account creation, also ran dashlaunch to check settings and it seems it had live blocking set as a standard option already when l originally installed FSD.

accidentally replied to wrong topic lol, regardless how do l open up dashlaunch? l have fsd installed to the xbox hard drive lm told l should be able to open it from the fsd folder but lm not sure where l open it from.that being said the only thing l did when installing fsd was configure where the launch.ini was placed is live block and update blocking enabled by default?

l just had an interesting thought, l manage my own router etc.. given a full list of live urls and or IPs xbox live uses for updates and such l could ban the IPs/domains themselves completely from being accessed completely which would theoretically block updates completely from being downloaded, if so a definitive list would be quite an interesting find.

you can run dashlaunch without the setup disk? just curious where do l find the app as it would save me going through the FSD setups.

so my assumption is that in order to download updates you need a live account? by blocking live creation you block updates as well? just curious.as for dashlaunch, l assume such settings are automatically set to block access to live services and update downloading would save me going through the setups again unless there is an easier way to access dashlaunch without going through the whole setup process again. (l guess the easy way would be editing it through the launch.ini? in which case ld need to familiarise myself with editing those values, tho to be honest lm not really an online gamer l just thought it would be fun on occasion to play through FSDs system link since ld have the option to with the wireless dongle l acquired.

any chance you could let me know which options in the parental options l should use?

was just curious, lve been given a usb wireless dongle for an xbox which means l dont have to connect my xbox via crossover to download updates for FSD or to use the system link to play online, however l do know that with rgh/jtag consoles that uploading xbox updates will cause problems.so basically is there a way to make sure that if l leave the usb wireless dongle will not download microsoft updates and cause problems for my rgh'd console if l leave the dongle connected?

just want a quick verification.. after having my console repaired l just wanted to verify how to install FSD3 using a different method than the ISO version.. this time my drive hasnt been flashed (l could do it but there isnt much point cracking it open unless l have to).l do have a previous install from a few weeks back on my xbox hard drive, if it doesnt pick it up (replaced the falcon board with a jasper one due to storm damage), then my assumption would be that l would need to run the installer again. seeing as l might just not bother flashing the drive straight off l assume the method for installation (running of the installer) would be along the lines of the below linkhttp://www.homebrew-connection.org/how-to-install-xexmenu-or-fsd-installer-on-a-usb-key/

just an update, the person l got it from says its completely kaput.. even went as far as saying its extremely strange.. from what l do know the issue is likely power related which would make more sense considering we recently had a pretty intensive thunderstorm the day before l decided l wanted to play on it. really appreciate all the modder has done to help me. tho now lm back to needing a new xbox :/problem is have l just lost my money? as it leaves me £150 out of pocket (ddsdavey took my money and ran and the second xbox that l did get suffered weather damage).

yeah he has been amazing so far, even put up with my silly questions tho lm told its unlikely it needs reballing as the console was still sealed in its original packaging which was a lucky find, will have to wait and see tho hopefully l'll have some updates tomorrow or over the weekend, all goes well lm contemplating offering to help with the postage back given lve got some extra funds to do that with :/

lol, thats ok. in fact you already know who l purchased from (l go by Auroken on Team-Xecuter, if l remember correctly you offered me a slim, which l should prolly have taken you up on lol as lm told falcons are error prone tho zephyrs are worse). either way lm hoping the problem is fixable.. main reason for this thread and the few others l made at various modding forums was to acquire a little more knowledge and see if there was something l may have missed and could try. but l believe l covered all the bases :/

heh would cost a bomb to send to Canada from the uk XD, actually the modder lm dealing with no is pretty good.. tho he doesnt do reballing, in fact this console has no history at all lm the first one to use it l was told and l must admit it looks brand new as l was told it had never been used before he modded it.while slightly annoying that it starting messing me around right when l wanted to play AC3 at least the modder l purchased off was more than willing to look at it for me, so sending it back will hopefully know whats wrong with it shortly.regardless l did buy a console a few weeks prior and was shafted by the seller who took my money and never sent the xbox, something did sorta tell me that the price was too good to be true, so l was £53 out of pocket due to the ass Ddsdavey (l have his email address as well) so l decided to deal with the guys at team-xecuter instead of through gumtree :/

not touched the nand, everything was done for me apart from FSD installation, either way l managed to get hold of the modder who sold me the console.. tho l didnt want to waste more money lm sending it back to him so he can hopefully repair it.. tho lm guessing it might need to be reballed which l guess would be nice since it will possibly fix other eventual issues associated with RRODs.

l am aware of that fact, however usually there would be other lights around the power led flashing also the controller which is wired wont start up the console any more. and while this would be my first rhg/jtagged console wouldnt my tv pick up the xbox even if its just a black screen? loading time however up till l last used it were under a minute.

basically l went to play on the xbox earlier and when l turned it on like l usually do (with my controller) it powered up but the there was no lights on the controller, furthermore the usual lights that circle the power button didnt show either, l just had the solid green light in the centre.now lve tried my previous xbox which still works fine (which is only flashed rather than hardware modded), however l did try a spare power brick, the lights show fine on it (orange when turned off green when turned on).lve also tried my old xbox on the HDMI cable which worked fine in addition l also tried the older scart cables which worked fine on my older xbox but got no picture out of my modded one. l cant think what else to try as the thing just wont boot as l get no red rings either.its annoying as lve only played on it like twice and lve only had the xbox for like 2 weeks from the modder (which l have contacted, tho awaiting reply.. just thought ld check to see if l missed any of the bases to check).
