  1. If there was a half like button, I would press it, as it is only bad if you dont intend to dual nat. As to the answer for most people in my experience:

As a computer tech, I can say I have fixed these bad setups in peoples homes before, some do it so they can keep different systems on different subnets, and others do it not knowing the implications, because they want to extend wifi, or think it will act as a switch without configuration. Professionally, those are the main reasons I see for this, but more than likely, it is because people are trying to extend wifi, in my experience. That being said, some routers have an option to turn it into a wifi access point only(Essentially disables DHCP,DNS,Upnp) so that this problem doesnt happen. Long story short, most people dont understand routing/NAT, and think every thing is plug and play. Which in a routers normal capacity, as a router it usually is. There are also the others that dont realize their modem is also a router, or the people who dont trust the security of the router from the ISP. In all fairness, I still see ISPs(Comcast/Century Link) that still give out routers that are vulnerable to the PixieDust attack, so I can say that these concerns are valid. In fact some comcast routers have a shared default pin for WPS, and the router is also vulnerable to reaver/pixiedust.

Here is a link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uJE5YYSP-wHUu5-smIMTmJNu84XAviw-yyTmHyVGmT0/edit#gid=0 of routers with known vulnerabilities. This will assume you know the router you are attacking, but getting information like that is actually really easy. I can usually pull all of the information for the router right out of the air(Brand, Model, serial number, and even sometimes firmware version) without the wifi password. The real fun kicks in once you breach the wifi though. Evil laugh..... ;)

hahahaha you a evil maniac xD well I already solved the problem, deactivating DHCP on my Modem Router and that's all, It was double NATing being why Aurora couldn't connect to the ports.

  2. Did you connected your Router to the Modem Router, to Wan or Lan Port to the Modem router ?

If your Modem Router has a Wan Port, you should connect your router to the Wan Port of your Modem Router, because the Router Part of your Modem get bypassed. Its the same you would connected your stuff directly to a modem. It makes your configuration a lot more easier.

Uhm... the Modem Router has a Lan port, I connected the lan cable to the lan port of the Modem Router to the Wan port of the Router.

Exactly, double NAT (double routered as you call it) will cause it to fail to function as the router reports the wrong IP (internal IP given by the modem)

Cool, I'm glad tha I'm not so lost xD

  3. You can either remove the Router and use the built-in crap in your modem, or disable the built-in crap in the modem and use your router, it only causes problems having 2 routers like that (for the average user - you...)

Yeah, failing again. It's the DHCP of the Modem Router. When it was disabled, Aurora successfully tried the ports. Now that its enabled, it doesn't. 'Cuz I'm being doubled routered (?).

I will disable the DHCP on the Modem Router. Thanks for all the replies and help Darkglider and Swizzy.

  4. Your "Modem Router" is a replacement for a Modem + Router you had in the past, correct? or are you now using your "Modem Router" + Router?

If you're in the later case, ("Modem Router" + Router) you're effectively disabling the router part of the "Modem Router", making it a Modem only... (which would explain the entire situation...)

Is a replacement for a Modem, and a I am using the Modem router + router. I just reseted it, gonna test LiNK again to see if it was the DHCP on the Modem Router.

  5. Assuming you are using the same ISP as before, this sounds like a mis-configuration of some sort. First I would start by disabling Upnp, for testing purposes, then set up the MAC in the router so the system always recieves the same IP. I find this more reliable then static IP address, as most people dont configure their DHCP range, then set the address to what ever was assigned to the console when using DHCP. As this address is still in the pool, if the xbox is off, and another device connects to the router, it can get the IP you set for the xbox, and cause conflicts. When you have all of that setup, forward the ports to the address that is set aside for the xbox. Also, make sure you are typing in the address in the port forwarding propperly, as 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 are on 2 completly different subnets, on a class C network(255.255.255.0) vs class B(255.255.0.0) or class A(255.0.0.0) which they would be on the same subnet. I have seen people make mistakes such as this, and spend hours trying to figure out why it didnt work. All home routers are configured for Class C(Maximum 254 devices per subnet(255 is broadcast)) by default.

Can you see the hacker in me coming out to play? ;)

If all else fails, feel free to PM me, and I will teamview in and see if I can fix your problem remotely.

hahaha xD well thanks, but I fixed it myself, the answer was to deactivate DHCP setting in my modem router. that was all xD now I can join the link parties :3

  6. By definition, old modem, presumably with its own routeing capabilities, setup for this. Now we are talking about a seperate router, and that means it needs to be reconfigured. Also if you are still running the old modem before this router, you will need to set up port forwarding on both devices. the first being from the xbox to the router, then forward the ports from the router to the modem. Think as each router as its own seperate network. If this is the case, I would suggest turning off all DNS/DHCP settings on the router, and then plugging in the ethernet cord into one of the ports for a computer. Then you will only need the configuation on the modem, as the second router would essentially become a switch. If there is only one router in this set up, disregard this information, as it will make no difference to you.

I... didn't explained right (?) Let me start again. I had a Modem, it died, and a router. Then I bought a modem router (it was better and cheaper than the old modem). with the old modem, SL worked, but now that I'm using the modem router, it doesn't. Both the modem router and the router are tp-link.

  7. In the long run, I would suggest a static IP, or adding the xbox mac to the list of preassigned addresses on the router. Basically the same as a static IP, but the DHCP server will never let the lease expire, so the xbox will always get assigned the same address. Also, if using UPNP, the ports might still fail, but the service will still work, at least if you are not the one hosting the game.

Already my Xbox had its mac and ip preassigned since the old modem.

  8. You did mean a dns fault ?

Link, Realmodscene, Xbox Unty, are running on the same Server. If you get a connection to realmodscene, you should get also a connection to link, if the ports are opened.

    yeah, but it wasn't.

I have had routers that wouldnt forward certain ports. Try changing the ports(Both on router and Xbox) to something else. also make sure you are forwarding ports on both tcp and udp.

Okey, going to try it now.

  9. 1: textures need to be re-done.. scaled down to 512x512 as that is the only resolution the 360 "can" handle without issues..

2: dlc or in the data folder.. doesnt really matter.. just depends on what your setup is, meaning if you have extracted version the dlc isnt needed, but if using GoD version, then DLC is a must as you can't easily mod the files in the god container.

3: skse isnt possible on 360 i dont think.. as there are several threads on other forums specifically stating this.. just "google skse on RGH" or something similar

Thanks for you reply. I didn´t think anyone would reply. Well, I am going to redone the textures to 512 then. So, skse is a no go... mmh. I am actually using a Extracted version of the game, so I have de DATA folder with the other folders inside. I don't need to remake any other thing? just the textures?

  10. So... I was thinking; I have been porting some mods to my xbox... but  I have this quistion: the mods that needs skse or mcm (SKyUI for example, Frostfall, etc) how do I make them work in my x360 skyrim?

    • another question: Is there a way to install mods like in the pc? Just simply copying the .bsa, .esp files to DATA without making a con "dlc" file?
    • Or, Instead of that, making a .bsa file with the textures folder inside, and then compile it in a con dlc file, so textures actually works? (can't make Quality Maps work, Idk if any other textures mod with folder "textures" are not workin', nor Winter is Coming - Cloaks)

    1. I've tried this http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/1600-how-to-convertport-pc-skyrim-mods-to-work-on-a-jtagrgh/
    2. And this https://www.xboxchaos.com/topic/2935-how-to-repack-texturesbsa/?page=1
    3. Currently going to try this http://www.game-tuts.com/community/f116/tutorial-modded-textures-meshes-retail-xbox360-via-iso-124847/

  11. Sort off, you could technically modify the game data, or such and make it load the resources you added to the game...

Okey okey, I'm very new to this, just started 6 hours ago xD. So, how could I do that? and other thing: instead of doing the "copy and paste the textures, meshes, etc mod folder to the data folder, wouldn't be better to repack all to a bsa and then pack that bsa to the con dlc file?. or what is the best way? Just looking for the best way to mod bethesda skyrim/fnv/f3

  12. Just a stupid question, I have been porting some mods to my xbox... but  I have this interrogant... the mods that needs skse (SKyUI for example, Frostfall) how do I make them work?

another question: Is there a way to install mods like in the pc? Just simply copying the files to DATA without making a con "dlc" file?
