There is a boot animation tool released afew months back on reddit. It only works with big block nands i guess should work with 4gb corona aswell. It turn video's into .xex

Oo wow thats neat 🤙 shame I only have one console it would work with 😔

  2. Good day,

I know most people have moved on from the 360 scene and for me its quite saddening as I still truly enjoy messing around with 360’s.

I have an idea but I dont have the necessary skill or time to learn this type of coding/programming.

Currently there are 2 options to change your boot animation, and each comes with their own downsides, and I was hoping someone out there could assist.

Option1: 360haven is basically dead, but it hosted a custom boot animation option called “bootanim”. What makes this interesting is the fact that you can launch any xex after boot without the need of Dashlaunch. But the problem is that there is no option to delay the boot animation like fakeanim does.

Option2: fakeanim is a wonderful tool, but the only way to launch an xex after boot is by using Dashlaunch. This is convenient as you can just default eg Aurora to launch right after boot, but with that you loose basic dash functionality like changing network settings etc.

Option 2 can probably circumvented by holding a specific button to change the load option, but my idea is to combine the fakeanim delay option with the convenience of bootanim loading any xex afterwards. You can load Aurora right from boot but still have easy access to the original dash and functionality.

    Hope I didn’t miss anything basic ;)

Anyone want to weigh in their opinion?

AND this is where you get some knowledge.. after dash 17349.. there is no fatx usb anymore.. you simply use a fat32 usb drive, with a content folder(just like internal).. you can place xexmenu "live" version.. and it will play from stock dash.. dashlaunch.ini can be placed inside the nand mate.. so it can never be lost

Yes. I always save the Dashlaunch settings on the nand.

Like I said. Just wanted to eliminate a physical usb so Aurora, Xexmenu (yes I use live) and the Dashlaunch xex is “permanently” on the console.

If someone unplugs the USB or Ext HDD Aurora and others will still be available.

  4. Thanks man.

Yeah it seems I’m fighting a losing battle over here.

Im aware of the USB limits and the possibility of using USB Memory Stick to achieve this. My intention was to solder the MU (of which I have a few 256mb versions, seeming to have sufficient space for Aurora, Covers, Profiles and some save games) internally for the sole purpose of running Aurora and keeping both it and Dashlaunch “permanently” available, avoiding the possibility of removing either Aurora, Dashlaunch or Xexmenu accidentally, and thus rendering an external HDD useless as games are not launched via Dashboard.

This is a scenario I have to consider especially when I’m giving a console to a friend with no knowledge of the scene or any other similar situations.

If Phat HDD housings were more readily available or the process of soldering and positioning internal SATA and power were much less of an effort, I wouldn’t have this conundrum.

But thank you for the reply

  5. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I see I’m able to launch Aurora using Dashlaunch, but I would prefer to create a GOD/Demo shortcut for Aurora instead.

And most importantly pointing towards the install on the Memory Unit (Not USB, the phat MU’s).

    Think that is doable?

  6. Good day folks,

Hope you all are doing well.

I cant seem to find related information, and I have a feeling it is possible.

I would like to know how one would go about spoofing a Memory Card/Unit (abbreviated as MU0 / MU1) as a Physical HDD.

The reason behind this is that I would like my Aurora to be stored on a Memory Unit as I have no Internal HDD and for the life of me I cant get the shortcuts to run Aurora from the MU. I have tried using Shortcut 360 and Quickboot, even modifying some parameters manually, to no avail.

    Would this be possible?

    Many thanks :)

  7. Swizzy, please excuse my ranting. I desoldered the CPU_RST wire and viola

No idea why, it did not touch any other parts of the frame/board or resistors or caps, but the moment it was off, boom!

  8. Soory Swizzy, none here.

Just read up on 0022. Maybe just my luck that it bummed out the moment I worked on it? Overheated perhaps?

The fans do change pitch up and down persistently for a few seconds and then RROD. The same type of change in pitch when glitching, just not as high and low, and much quicker

  9. Sorry Swizzy, no spilled solder anywhere. I anyways dont use that much solder ??

But I must apologize, the error is 0022 not 0010. Whether running Xell image or disconnected RJTAG with stock nand, still 0022

  10. ?

    Hey guys..

What a bad day. My previous 360 Phat (Fffffalcon board) bummed out on my, so I bought another working board for a few bucks.

After I removed the complete R-JTAG with all QSB's and reinstalled it into the new Jasper board, I couldn't get it to glitch (POST79 LOAD_XAM each time although XELL should not get to 79).

Some time later I decided to wire the AUD_CLAMP manually using the 2 x 1N4148 diodes and an optional resistor method, as the little QSB suffer previous damage.

As soon as I did that I started getting RRODs each time I try to boot XELL. I triple check everything and found that I accidentally soldered the AUD_CLAMP wire to Q2N3 instead of Q2N1 ?

Do you guys think I fried it? Gettin 0022 RROD with each try AND with the whole R-JTAG disconnected ?☹️?

EDIT: Error 0022 not 0010 sorry

  11. so when you highlight it still shows Freestyle?

If there are different scenes/states for highlighting, then you will have to change that state also.

BTW: im doubt this would be the right section for the topic. The plugin is still a part of freestyle. nvm

    No,

When one selects the old "Freestyle Home" options (which on a retail console would read "Xbox Home"), a popup window visualizes itself requesting confirmation of one's action. This popup windows title would be the one I am reffering to.

Although this is a FSD plugin, it is still for use withing Aurora

  12. Even from my limited experience I found that M$ isnt keen on publicizing the inner workings of their hardware, which is understandable, as it is proprietary.

The only way one could ever build the perfect emulation/backward compatibility would be to know not how a piece of software runs, but rather how it utilizes the hardware it was purposely build to run on.

Once one has the knowledge of that, it will be possible to recreate the needed utilization within a different hardware scenario..

I believe M$ themselves are a bit baffled with the current Xbox One / 360 compatibility possibility, as the hardware is completely different and new compared to previous gen, and even though 10 years old, the high technicality and "speciality" of it made it no easier for themselves..

So my vote would be a negative, as the focus currently lies on next gen, and I believe they would rather utilize the man hours to ensure the future of the current console, aiming to compete with the former..

  13. So, this is how it works:

xeBuild have 4 "hacked" build modes:

jtag <--- first hack to fully support homebrew on Xbox 360 (along with games) also "R-JTAG" or "R-JTAG+" with the appropriate SMC [R-JTAG just needs to have -o patchsmc]

    glitch <--- RGH 1.x

glitch2 <--- RGH 2.x (also RGH2+ with the appropriate SMC)

glitch2m <--- RGH 2.x (also RGH2+ with the appropriate SMC) this is a hybrid between JTAG and RGH in that it emulates the fuses like JTAG does and can thus work on consoles that have fuses that are f*cked...

For winbond coronas you just add -i 13182 when using glitch2m as this ini specifies a secondary patchset for those consoles

    Thanks Swizzy,

Yes, I have previously used XeBuild to build an R-Jtag image with great success, I just needed to confirm as it seemed like the CR4 works a bit different.

Many thanks though, sure someone else might also want to know this [emoji6]

  14. No they changed the verbage RGH1=GLITCH RGH2=GLITCH2 GLITCH2M is still the same. I agree this site here is awesome with people willing to help instead of flame you right away

Ah yeah, wanted to say something about the glitch2m as well.. But good to know..

I would have most likely recieved a response such as "Why dont you just use jrunner, it has everything, and it uses Xebuild so theres no difference, and stop poking around.." from other places (not naming te much now)...

  15. Good day everyone,

    Hope all is well..

With some g00glin and tampering I modified some stuff to make Aurora a little bit more "home" like for myself.

I changed the Guide Button Menu (Blades?) to show "Aurora Home" instead of "Freestyle Home" with a fancy icon and all, but I seem to struggle with the popup window when selecting my newely changed "Aurora Home"..

On the popup window, the title still shows "Freestyle", and I would kinda like to modify that as well... Just for the experience..

Someone perhaps know where I should look?

    Maaany thanks ;)

  16. Thank you for your comments guys, but as I said, I have found some tutorials for the specific games, and still can't understand the steps correctly.

I need help with COD AW and BF4. You said the crew is useless without live so nvm about it.

With COD AW you need to extract both disc 1 and 2.

On disc one, you need to copy the 41560914 folder found in the extracted disc one to xbox hdd/content/{lots of 0's}..

The whole disc 2 must be copied to any location (such as hdd/games/aw/)... Just remember to run the default.xex from extracted disc 2 otherwise it will most likely not work..

Just my 2 cents on my experience..

Converting Disc 1 into a GOD container did not work for me, thus the extract

  17. Ah hah... Many multiple thanks! See, around here people are not scared to share their knowledge..

I always thought the ini files had the magic, but never looked to the smc.bin..

I might be wrong, but isnt the glitch2 for something else (special winbond or something)?

  18. Good day everyone,

    Hope all is well.

I would like to find out how one can go about building a Nand for RGH2+ using XeBuild (Or XeBuild GUI).

Previously, on my JTAG I was able to use the patches in the .ini's from JRunner, but now I cannot seem to find the applicable ini, also, there is no option for RGH2+..

Anybody perhaps know what trick one must pull to build a Nand with the correct stuff?

    Many thanks ;)
