  1. Aurora always comes with localization's other than english. Has since the beginning. it is also the last stage of the testing process, as the localization xml with all of the new stuff that needs to be localized cant be written until we know what we are writing for. Then we have to solve any issues in the XUI that may arise, due to a localization, if that happens. If you only have one localization, you might miss the bugs before release, so when other make the localizations, there could be unintended visual issues because of it.

  2. When we launch is not important, If it is ready to launch is what matters. I have left notes on progress throughout this thread to try and make people happy. If people would just be patient, then there wouldnt be a problem. I have explained why it is taking so long. I have also said, you should see it within the next month. The rest of the stuff wont be appearant until the localization team does their thing, and they have been waiting on us to finish our thing, and we have to wait on the programmers to finish their thing, and then send our notes back, and they have to do their thing again..... it isnt as easy to get the people with the time and know how together at the same time, because we have lives, and live all over the world.

As for brief launch? The launch will be very brief, when it happens. You will get a notice in aurora, it will take less than 5 minutes to download, then it will update. I dont think it can get any more brief.

Also, no one said you were a slut or a whore...... If you are, congrats, we dont really care. I said you need to be patient, because no one likes someone who acts like a whining bitch(in fewer words). All I see in all of your posts is whining about time tables. I have 2 kids I deal with every day, they are 4 and 6, and this is what I expect from them. If you are old enough to respond to this thread, then you should be old enough to A. Wait patiently, like everyone else, B.Spell Gavin right, C. Not try to convince the users of our product that it isnt going to be updated because it hasnt been released on your time tables.

By doing these things, you waste my time replying to you, and trying to keep the community at bay, because they see your negative post, then think there is something to it, when you dont know what you are talking about. This is time I could be using to finish up the testing needed, so you can get this. So, if you want to get technical, you can add yourself to the blame for why it is taking so long. At least from a certain point of view.

That being said, I have already closed most of the bugs, so it should be ready for the localization team, when ever the devs track them all down again.

the aurora with garvin speaks has few bugs to be corrected but these bugs will take another two or three years to be solved oo the launch for this month is correct because unfortunately this is a total relaxation really the project is almost m its total abandonment by team of developers hangs out with this complete project

I find that hard to believe, as I am testing the first release candidate now. Seems to be pretty smooth, and bug free, because we took our time, and tracked that shit down, and spent a year working it all out.... That being said, once the testing is done, then it get passed off to the localization people, so the language packs can be created. So, depending on how long it takes me to close out the last of these bug reports, and how long it takes the localization team to finish their work, you should see 0.7b before the end of the month, like I said. Then again, if you want to keep being a whining bitch, I will put off closing these bugs until june, and everyone can wait, because you want to talk like you know something. Keep it up, and you wont be posting here anymore. Simple as that, you have been warned.

I’m happy to wait for the release and i know I will enjoy 0.7b a long time and same goes for 0.8 when Netbios is ready :0

I think you mean NetIso not netbios(Microsoft networking protocol, similar to DNS)

Sorry guys, but after one year of following this thread I am out!! For me it looks like an never ending april fool... :-)

That is what everyone was saying when 0.6b took a year and a half to be released, after the previous build were every couple of months. Giving up now, is like quitting the game when you are in the room next to the final boss, because the credits will come after that..... It is coming, I am sorry you are impatient. It isnt like 0.6b is that bad...... Maybe if this is how the community feels, we shouldnt release it at all when it is done.

I believe that finishing a project for a console that is already obsolete long ago would be a waste of time because as I speak it is already with many negative points many people no longer have the console or already sold my person as a programmer I would already have completed the project a long time ago indifferent to having family children work only a jerk even if it was good to wait for good will already two and a half years for a project that would only last six months to be completed you are already testing bugs for years and maybe it never goes out paper will wait to leave the ps7 successor of xbox one x to launch missing some adjustments now tolulu will pass another two years or three maybe so already had to have released this to the public a while ago

The Xbox 360 is far from dead. There are still tons of people who still have RGH/JTAG boxes, and dont have the next gen systems. The fact you think you would have finished the project along time ago is laughable at best. For those who have never programmed before, let alone programmed for a big endian processor like the PPC64 in the 360, keep your mouth shut, because you have no idea what goes into a project like this. Parts of it work with the API in the Xbox360 XDK, other parts have to be written in assembly, such as taking over the HUD with the plugin, because microsoft never intended for people to do this. So when you learn to program in Visual C++, Assembly with  a PPC Processor, and work around the stripped down version of DirectX 9.0c that the xbox 360 depends on, then you can tell every one what a badass programmer you are, and how fast you feel it should take to finish a project as intense as Aurora. Truth is, it takes time to work out the bugs, and sometimes, fixing a small problem in one spot could change something else completly, and cause new bugs. On top of that, other then most of the new features, we are also pushing out the first version of nova with this build, which fixes alot of the bugs in the FSPlugin, and we are still trying to work out a few small bugs there, so we can get the rest of the new stuff like NetIso, and LinkV2 complete. The first version of the new webui also comes with that. You have no idea how much has gone into this build alone. On my computer alone, I have 15 different versions of 0.7b. If you want it so bad, I will PM you the copy that  crashes the moment you hit a button.  Then you can say you have 0.7b, but will still be stuck in the same boat as everyone else running 0.6b, because you cant use 0.7b. Lets just put it this way, you seem to think we arent working on it, but 0.6b was released at r1238, and the current test build is r1554. That means that between 0.6b and 0.7b currently there have been 316 versions of 0.7b, and it still isnt ready for the public quite yet. That being said, this comes to the either put up or shut up, and stop complaining, because you really have no idea what you are talking about.

Hi when can we download aurora 0.7? It's been a long time since this release and did not download ?????:hocky:

????? It might have been a while since this thread was started, but this isnt a release thread, but a teaser thread. Once the team is ready to release, which is planned for sometime this month, you will know, as Aurora will ask you if you want to update.

I personally waited for this release from a long time

You and everyone else in this thread. Dont feel special, we arent with holding it just from you. It isnt quite ready yet. You will know when it is, because you will be able to download it. If people want to keep complaining about waiting, then we dont have to release it at all. For what it is worth, if you dont like waiting, do something for the scene, like write your own custom dashboard, and maybe you will be found useful enough to be a tester, or developer for aurora, in which case, you can get all of the test builds with the rest of the testers. Dont ask to be a tester though, or you will never be considered to test.

in part and true that the latest versions of aurora are released after too much time, and all this long time less and less people will enjoy aurora, but I am one of those people who owns both xbox one and x360 and I can say that use and play only to x360 for the potential that offers the jtag, and this project of aurora strengthens me to stay with the 360, if then it will come out 'some changes on xbox one then I can' abandon the 360

While people are bitching about time frames, lets put this in perspective. Most of the coding on Aurora is done by 1 person. Currently there are only  like 10 people who are part of team phoenix. Now, when you put this in perspective, our members are all over the world, and do this for fun. It is difficult when the main programmer has a life, and so does everyone else. So while there might be 3 test builds in a month, or day, depending, lately, we have had 2 builds to test in 3 months.  For what it is worth, the only current thing causing crashes is that we implemented a new feature to check TU downloads hashes against the server, and if the connection is lost, then aurora gets a fatal exception. Other than that, Nova's WebUI v1 is complete, and working, and there are a couple of small bugs in nova, that ported over from FSPlugin, like having to reload the plugin to get new screenshot buttons to work, if setting plugin wide, and not on a per game basis(Another new feature of Aurora 0.7b, Along with per game dashlaunch settings.) Long story short, as far as new features go, 0.7b is like a completed mona lisa, vs an andy worhal painting of soup cans, on a bad acid trip. lol. Have faith, the wait has been worth it. as I said, there are only like 2 major bugs that need working out, which shouldnt take long. The rest of the stuff is localization stuff for 0.7b, and some stuff for the updater, which cant be tested until 0.7b goes online.

until finally good news for the launch of aurora 0.7b will be very welcome yet this is even at the time of being launched since it is a project that comes from 2016

What? Aurora has been around longer than that. Hell, the idea of nova, was announced in like 2014, and aurora was on like 0.3 or 0.4 at the time. So, I am not sure what you are saying here..... And I am not going to guarantee a release this month, just saying that last I heard, which was recently, was that the developers wanted to try and release it this month.

  11. NetISO only works with SVOD(GOD), and ISO formats currently. dont worry though, you can still use ConnectX, which will continue to be supported..... unless someone ports a better SMB client to the xbox 360, in which case that might get included, and connectx removed. doubtful though.

  12. My guess is the problem is in the launcher(default.xex), on the disc, which I would assume points to the DVD handle the kernel produces, instead of the game handle. So once that launcher loads, it looks for the actual games on the disc in the drive. This isnt a huge issue on a retail console if you copy the game to the hdd in god format, because you still need the disc in the drive to play the game. On an RGH console the disc doesnt need to be in the drive to play a game ripped with NXE. Truth is though, that the launcher is like a microsoft approved extreemly stripped down version of xexmenu, or aurora, in the idea that it will launch other xex/svod container files. In every other way it is different. Since that is the case, you dont need the launcher, just copy the XBLA folders to then content folder and call it a day.

Anyway knowing that there is work ongoing on a better network solution for those of us (which are i guess not so numerous) currently using connectx to not be bothered by some external hard drive or  copying internal each and every game is a very good thing to hear.

Thanks again for your free work

Your Welcome, but I deserve none of the credit on this one. First an Formost, c0z was the one who came up with and coded the original NetISO plugin for dashlaunch(Not publically released), and MaesterRowen took that code, and included it into Nova, and wrote the Phoenix NetISO server for the computer side of things. As far as Team Phoenix goes, I am just a tester, and moderator. Other than finding some major bugs, and knowing things before most other people, because I have connections in the inner circle, I havnt really done much as far as development goes. That being said, the NetIso stuff was orignally planned for this release, so the base code is in nova and aurora for it now, but due to some of the bugs we encountered with it, and the time frame it will take to fix them, it was put to a vote in the community, and the community chose to for go NetISO for now, for a quicker release of 0.7b, which even then still has taken a bit longer than we had planned. That being said, the current plan is to have 0.7b released sometime this month. We are in the process of buttoning up the final bugs, now that the WebUI v.1 for nova is ready.  There may be some upgrades to that in 0.8+, as I hear that there are some things that got pushed back there as well, and a few things that the devs feel could be done better. What we have appears to work, so the release should be soon. Just waiting on feedback from the other testers, and one more fatal exception to fix, that I know of, and it should be ready for the public....... All of that being said, just because it should be ready soon, doesnt mean that we dont have lives, but from what I hear, the plan is to push it out this month sometime, but dont get too excited, as things dont always go to plan. lol.

  14. I see no reason why creating an iso file out of the extracted images wouldnt work. GOD/SVOD works as is. And in future versions it might support extracted games, even though it wasnt technically designed for that. It shouldnt be too hard to modify the server, which should be opensource, to work with extracted ISO files. It is all kind of a moot point, as NetISO has been put on hold until 0.8+, as 0.7b has taken longer to be finished. Due to the complexity of some of the new features, and Nova testing, it has taken longer then we anticipated to complete 0.7b

@gavin_darkglider: I don't think people are asking for an update on ConnectX, more or less they are asking for a proper (from scratch) implementation of CIFS/NFS mounting within Aurora. Does this also need to be byte-patched to work with the retail kernel?

No, it wouldnt need byte patching to work with Aurora. It would be even harder to write a plugin around the SMB/CIFS standards, and then make it compatible with all the standard changes. You would have to port the whole client side of Samba to the XDK, then have to debug the shit out of it. It isnt an easy task, and it isnt going to be done by Team Phoenix. Especially since they are trying to get away from it with NetISO, which is more like Daemon Tools for the Xbox, than anything else. The client side creates a virtual drive, that then takes the actual drives handle in the kernel when you mount an ISO to it. So, in a way it is more like putting a disc in the console than anything.

I do use connectx too as i have 2 modded xbox (1 in living room 1 in the room) but both are connected with rj45 and my xpenology NAS as well.

Most of the games do work upon LAN for me but the speed is about 4MB/sec (32 Mb) so i get some lag sometimes. Some games just go directly to black screen and i have to copy them internally (south park, shadow of the mordor,..). I have no idea if it is linked to the speed performance issue but if it is I also would love to see an improvement to 11MB or so which is the 100 Mb theoritically available.

ConnectX will never be updated to run faster. It is out of our control, as it is a plugin from an actual devkit, that has been byte patched to work with a retail kernel. Aurora/FSD load, and run the functions in the XEX/DLL. We understand it is slow, but never fear, we are working on a new solution called NetISO, that will be included in Nova, when it is ready. From my testing, using ethernet, it is super fast, but it also requires that your games be in ISO/SVOD format(Currently)

SMB root fast share 360 in explorer windows for shortcut via desktop, for modding -test resources very good solution, you can edit - mod file for test not even copying the resource on the PC, open with HEX, mod like flags and save, and start executable on 360. Root shared like DISK on PC via LAN no ftp..   No freeze check size etc like via ftp... fast for working.  SMB speed on FSD 11.3 mb/s copy  < > !

I have been working for several years on SMB in FSD3 and have not found the best solution yet.
Xbdm plug share root good on all time, but copy very long. (and it looks like there is verification after the end of copying) speed slowly on big files. Minus - Not editiong  file in real time, need copy on pc and back moding on console...

Yes, i now, about the problem with different sizes and copying over the source in SMB. But this is the only one + that FSD has before the Aurora personally for me. SMB acces need for moding test resources, So far, we have to constantly work in the FSD2-3  and jump to aurora...

Saved in aurora ConnectX (mod file on PC and fast run on 360) but some games very slow loading, or not working... What is also not happy

For ordinary users, this plug-in not needed.

They have enough FTP access etc

Sorry for eng if so...  this is my story)

I think you are confusing the SMB plugin with ConnectX. The SMB Plugin is a server plugin, so you can access your xbox hard drive via SMB Shares. ConnectX connects to SMB shares, but is really slow and dated on the SMB standard, as the plugin is older than Windows Vista. lol.

For the rest of you, here is a quick update..... I think we are close to release..... The Nova WebUI is finally being tested, and is quite a bit nicer than the one included with FSD, if you ask me. Since that was the last major thing, it should be soon.....

I Hope SMB plugin will be added in this Release, for speed working with files nothing more is require. ;)

xbdm plug "not counting" neigborhood works slowly "and there are pitfalls with him"

It wont be included in this release, as it isnt high on our priority list to make it work. Use FTP, it is a much more accepted protocol for file transfer, and is less likely to corrupt your data than the current implementation of the SMB plugin, that is not publicly available for Aurora, or the SMB plugin for FSD.

  17. An xex code compiled for the xbox. To create your own XEX, you have to know how to write code in Visual C++, Know your way around the DirectX 9.0C API(Application Programming Interface), and have a copy of the XDK. It also wouldnt hurt to have  RGLoader on your xbox instead of freeboot, which makes debugging much easier. But since you are asking how to make an XEX, I seriously doubt that you would have the required programming skill needed to actually make something awesome like Aurora, or FSD. I would shoot for a replacment XEX loader, much easier to code, and then go from there.

It's been a long time since I've checked out this page. Version 0.7 still not out? LOL! People still crying for a release date? Still just as annoying. People, you have to understand that it won't come any faster just by asking. Those that ask are like children in a car "Are we there yet?" LOL! Seriously though, it'll come out. Possibly another few months from now. (Maybe) Just do something else in the meantime. It'll come out when it comes out. I have to wait too, you don't hear me crying. Besides, they said it's basically done, they're just doing bug testing and what not. I'd rather it not have any problems than get it early.

Sorry for the wait..... The testers havnt gotten a new build to test in over a month. Most of the bugs have been worked out, since we patched out NetISO, in this build. The major holdup is the WebUI for Nova. There was a lot of updates to the FSPlugin, and it was rebranded as Nova. The since Aurora supports LUA, I think one of the new features they are working on for the WebUI, is a LUA editor, and a bunch of other stuff. As of this point, I am fairly sure that is what is holding up the release. Then again, the dev scene has been fairly quiet, so I dont know what has been going on in the last month or so, as I havnt been around much...... Been working on other projects, and life...... lol.

  19. I dont think you need it to connect, it should convert it on the pc, and dump it to a folder. Then you take that folder, and copy it to the root of the drive. As I said though, it will ruin the DB for the music that is already on the xbox, so you should back up that folder on the xbox hdd first. If it requires a connection, then you might need to be on FSD. I honestly couldnt tell you anymore, since the last time I played with that app was in like 2013, and it hasnt been updated since 2010.

  20. Which means you need the xbox to see it as native music, or music that has been ripped to the xbox. There is a poorly written app that kind of works, but it replaces all of the music, because the author never wrote code to append songs to the DB that the 360 looks at. Which means every time you use it, it erases the music already on the xbox. Here, try X360 Music Organizer. http://www.360-hq.com/download-file-307.html   It has issues, but it will let you add music without burning it to a cd, but it will over write any music you may have on your hdd, when you copy the generated folder over.
