    Hi. I have an XBOX 360 JTAG console that can also play copied disc games. I have never updated my console's kernel before.

    My kernel version is 2.0.16537.0

    Will this tutorial be the right one for me to successfully update my console's kernel and the avatars? Will there be any additional steps for me to follow?

    Help will be greatly appreciated. I am rather scared updating the kernel for the first time  :blushing:

    Transfer F3 folder to your hdd andthen open your dashlaunch set default path to default.xex(in your f3 folder) and save it nw launch file was created in your hdd nw u can use custom dashboard ,,enjoy

    I want to use Aurora, not freestyle. Aurora looks way better than the freestyle dashboard

    I downloaded quite a few XBOX Classic games. Will test them all out and see what works and what does not :D

    Hi

    I have a JTAG XBOX 360 with the Freestyle 3 Dash. I installed Need For Speed Underground 2 for the XBOX Classic on it and it shows up under XBOX classic games, but the videos lag and every now and then the game lags as well. Is there a proper homebrew emulator I can use on my JTAG 360 to play XBOX Classic games properly?

    For the DVD to play games you've written to a DVD+R DL with your own burner there is only 1 mod available these days (different versions of it tho) and it's called iXtreme, there was another method before (NME chips) but, it's useless now a days (it doesn't work with the newer games)

    The F3 Installer ISO only updates F3, but it doesn't update your actual dashboard/kernel (the xbox 360 dashboard) right now you don't have to update, but in the future you will, when games stop working (new games) or you want to use Title Updates you'll need to update your kernel...

    If you're not going to play anything newer then you are currently doing, and not having any particular issues there is no need to update ;)

    If you don't have a Xbox 360 Slim (4GB Corona, a.k.a. MMC Corona) xeBuild GUI will identify pretty much all parameters for you as to what you need for it to work (however, you might need the nofcrt patch aswell which it is unable to detect at this time)

    I have downloaded a few title updates so far and they are working and the latest game I installed from a disc is Watch Dogs which had no problem.

    I have an XBOX 360S console. Unsure of it's original size as the seller did not tell me or give me packaging. When he bought it, a 320GB HDD was installed. Is updating the kernel simple? Will I be able to fix it myself should I mess it up? :)

    You should enable Beta updates in FSD settings and update your F3...

    I am stupid with this stuff, but is there any benefit or need to update to a newer kernel? Reason why I ask is I have no idea which mods exactly were done to this console and neither does the guy who sold it to me. I know a JTAG was done, but unsure which mod was done to allow it to play copied discs.

     

    I managed to update the dashboard though by using the F3 installer ISO image from here: http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/2090-f3-rev-775/page-12

    Also, I see the console can't use it's wireless to connect to the internet, or I am just too dumb to find it  :blushing:  My router is isolated downstairs with no cables running upstairs. I tried sharing my PC's internet with it by connecting my PC via wireless and the console to the PC via cable and it gave an IP on the console but would not download any covers or pick up title updates for games I know for a fact does have updates. I restarted the console, but got the same result

    Hello everyone

    I am new here with a few questions to ask  :D

    I purchased an XBOX 360 with the Freestyle 3 dashboard today and I am a total noob with this stuff.

    From what the seller told me, all I know is it can play copied discs, games from USB drives and games from the internal drive. Further I have no clue what is going on here  :blushing:

     

    Firstly, how do I update the dashboard when there is updates and where do I find these? Is there a specific way for each console?

     

    Secondly, can this console connect to the internet with the Freestyle 3 dashboard without anything messing up? I read that connecting to the internet can mess up the JTAG on some consoles.

     

    I don't know if this information is relevant to any of my questions, but the dash version is 3.0 Rev58, the kernel version is 2.0.16537.0 and the skin version is 3.0 Rev63
