  1. Here's some screenshots :) i've posted them on my other thread aswell.
The 2 first are the new design of the home menu with the settings menu integrated with home, and kinect activated.
The third one is one of the gameviews i've made (Iconview) which still needs some fine tuning.

  2. Yo man, glad to see you're back!

I used wmv9 with a bitrate around 5k and sound made in wmv 9.2, anyway not important found away around it :)Atm i'm creating the animations first in After Effects then i render them as a PNG sequence and voila, no more ram wasting, tho aloooot of making clicking single frames when creating the xur's for best look, tho i must say it's worth it.

I still got a few wmv9 animations in the background but aslong as I don't add too many it's ok

  3. The new skin PlayBox One is coming along nicely, tho alot left to do. I've redone alot of stuff.

With this new build i'm building you'll be able to add you own wallpapers, i've done some new animations which almost take no ram at all so they will be running over the wallpapers so they look more dynamic with glow and particle effects. Kinect have been totaly remade and animated, also added a quickscan since many wanted it :) Here's 3 sneak peaks at the new build.

  4. skin progressing slowly but surely, i've now added a ''quickscan'' on startscreen so you can quickly scan your hdd's without the need to go through all the options (by pressing start)

    New animations for kinect

Merged options menu with Home so you can quickly access them by pressing paddown, also the menus will have both vertical and horizontal directions.

I will add some screenshots later for those who are interested :)PS: I've also solved the ram problem i had before with all the animations, no more lagg yey! Also with this skin you'll be able to choose your own backgrounds and i'm making a few special animation effects (which btw is taking forever to make) which will make all the backgrounds, even those you guys choose to put in, look animated.

It's thanks to these special animations i've been able to reduce the skins size by over 50% as well. tho also making it longer to create, i have to redo some animations i've done before to make the skin work better.

  5. Glad you guys like it so far! Will definitely look into that aelchris, it will either come with an alternate version with kinect instead of emulator like my other skin or something else, i have some interesting ideas i want to try out not sure if they will work.

  6. I've been working for a skin some time now, and what i've noticed is that the FSD does not close once previously opened xur-files.

For example, once a skin has been loaded and you go to another tab like menu.xur, both the main.xur and the menu.xur will run at the same time.

First i thought that the Xbox minimized the xur's but efter some experimenting i noticed that it actually start a new one everytime, even if one of the same sort of xur still exist and opened in the background. So if you start main.xur and go to menu.xur and then back to main.xur, you will have 2 main and 1 menu running in the background (the ram goes through the roof).

This is a huge problem, atleast for those with huge game libraries or for a skin with alot of animations (it eats all the ram).

So my question is do anyone know a way, if there is one, to terminate or at least put a xur on hold (pause) so they don't crash the xbox due to way too many animations running.

I've tried making my animations getting paused after a certain of time but it did not solve this problem. The Xbox will still crash after the exact same amount of opened windows as with looping animations.

Maybe i've done something wrong along the way, maybe i've missed something, thanks for answers!

  7. Hi guys, it's been a while. As some of you might know i've been working on a new skin for a long while now, it's been interesting and i've learned alot of new stuffs you can do with the XUI tools, anyway i thought i should post a little preview of what i've done so far.

The skins name is PlayBox One, some of you might notice it's a twist of Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and that's exactly my plan.
This skin will be a mix of the new consoles UI's, mostly the PS4.
This skin is taking a VERY long time to make since i'm creating an entirely unique skin with alot of animations!
Every background and some icons/symbols will be animated, settings will be completely remade etc etc.

I hope you guys like my idea, and post if you got any thoughts or suggestions that might improve this skin, both technically and cosmetic.

    And here's the preview:

  8. Thanks everyone for your likes and comments :) means alot!Been playing around with the Xbox One logo and voila,  here's another boot animation i've done but this time with the Xbox One logo.

Been also playing around some with After effects and making some animated backgrounds for the new skin which i've no idea yet in which direction i'm going yet, but i've not given up on the project :) it's just really going slow since it's summer and it has been awesome weather here in Sweden!

  9. I agree with you moses_373, putting in more than enough ram would be a cheap way to ensure smooth gaming for many years, although the Xbox do not use the ram the same way a computer does, for example ingame the Xbox can use almost all the 8GB ram which a computer can not since it need atleast 2GB ram to keep windows on (not counting the other apps and stuff you might have on).

They say it uses a lighter version of operative system which i hope means it does not suck too much ram away from the actuall gameplay, if that is the case i'm sure 8GB ram will go a long way :) Just look at the games we're able to play on the Xbox 360 atm which only have ~ 500Mb ram for gameplay.

  10. Skrivbordet has now been updated to 1.4 (Both the Standard and Kinect version), with the update i've:Updated to latest FSD 3.0.735

Added animations on splashscreen & coverflow view instead of static pictures.RB&LB bugg fixed in menu (caused a loop)Fixed spelling error (Kinect games > Emulators and vice versa)Fixed trainer (I think, don't use it myself)Remade some minor stuff to make things look better, for example clock, IP etc on main menu.

You might sometimes notice a slight lagg in the animation on splashscreen, it's nothing wrong it's just that the amazing 512Mb ram which the xbox has not always make things look supersmooth during loads.I'm still trying out new stuff to add, for example aelchris idea about RB as content search button, not sure if it's possible but if it is i'll add it later on :)

I've not decided on which new skin I want to create, been multi tasking with skins since i can't make up my mind. I'm working on a sci fy and also a total remake of the original Xdesk which i thought would look awesome with alot of animations.Though as i've said, can't decide so will see which of them look more awesome later.

Oh and as usual, please report buggs if you find any :) I think i got everything that came with the new FSD update.

    Enjoy!

  11. Been away doing some business, but now i'm back and i've done a preview for you guys that will come with the new Skrivbordet 1.4 :)

I'm mainly going to update Skrivbordet to the latest FSD version, but i'll also add a few new things. And as i've said before i've been experimenting with animations and stuff for future FSD skins, i've successfully after ALOT of trial and error added animations to the skin!

Though I do not want to add too much animations to Skrivbordet since it's meant to be simple (old fashion), so what i've done is a new splashscreen which looks really clean.

    Here's a

The new skin i'm wokring on will use alot more animations (as much as the Xbox can handle atleast :) 512Mb ram ain't much).

Will release 1.4 as soon as it's done.

  12. Here's another new SillyRobotsBoot (4) Posted Image Hope you guys like it.

I'm also working on a new FSD skin, remaking my Skrivbordet to a ''modern'' version. A combo of the XDesk and Crysis UI.
It's a long way from finished, still working on the backgrounds and interface in photoshop.
Working on some new animations as well to make the skin feel more ''alive'', though i've not had any time testing it out yet.

Anyway that's a short update, enjoy the boot animation!
