  1. try outputting as WMV9 if possible, that should make it compatible without the media update :)

Man, this is driving me F'n crazy... I downloaded another program FreeMake and tried just about every stupid thing I could think of.. I exported video in 3 different programs that claim to save to xbox compatible video and none will play,

I haven't tried WMV9 yet (at least I don't think, but may have, I'll try it tho in case I didn't)

WMV8 gives a stupid 69-C00DF804 which doesn't bring jack up on the Error status codes part of Xbox website.. Nice of them to give you a code that they have no info on :/

I even formatted the HD on the xbox and then reformatted it in windows in Fat32 which someone elsewhere said fixed it for them, still didn't help me

  2. Ok, rather than try and figure out the Libxenon code to get XMplayer or Xell to let me record it to DVD, I decided to troubleshoot the problem with the 360's media player, now I used 2 different programs Any Video Converter & my personal favorite video editor iSkysoft Video Editor and in both programs they have export presets for Xbox 360 which is supposed to convert the video to Xbox 360 compatible video settings (which I'll list below.) however both programs output a video that gives this error on the 360's dash.

    Unplayable Content

Can't play this content because it contains

audio or video with an unsupported

codec. For more info go to

    www.xbox.com/support.

    Status code: 80-C00DF242

Now I already checked to see if the media update is present and it is.

The output of the iSkysoft program is:

    iskysoft360.jpg

And the Any Video Converter settings is:

    AVC360.jpg

Since I'm having problems playing both videos, I'm thinking its probably a problem with the media update on the 360

  3. So, you get the same results with XMPlayer and XeLL? do you get the same while in the 360 dash?

Yes on XMPlayer and Xell. No on 360 Dash, I played a old DVD (that was burnt as a DVD video disc) I had that was in rough shape and decided to copy it and was able to with the 360 Dash. Unfortunately the dash is not wanting to play this particular video file, just gives errors. I'm thinking of using cam studio and making a video and saving it and trying to play that through 360 dash, to see if it will play a video other than what I'm trying to play.

  4. Edit: also, it might be xmplayer.. have you tried using the default media player?? As avi is supported..

You might be onto something there, Now if I looked and found that I have the media update installed yet it still does not play this particular video, it may be the settings the video was created with. But I did try Any Video Converter which I've used many times in the past, it has Xbox 360 Video presets, I used that and the damn video still didn't play on the video player, however it does play on XMPlayer, but my DVD Recorder gives the E25 protection error.. BUT!!!! I tried to start the recording before I played the video and found out, that the protection is there on the damn XMPlayer menu, so its XMPlayer itself that is blocking it.. My question now, is Why the FCK would a homebrew media player enforce this kind of protection??...lol, also what to do about it.. :)

EDIT: I should add, I'm very grateful for every programmer that develops homebrew for modded consoles and whatnot, and my comment about why homebrew would have the protection is not attacking anyone..lol, I just don't understand if it was intentional or by accident that this is occurring with the program, by all means, I'm not trying to offend the developer of XMPlayer

  5. For rgh's.. youll need the media update.. this is done thru xbl on reg systems.. but yeah.. i had a link somewhere on here.. just google it.. and see if that fixes the problem..

    Edit: https://mega.nz/#F!jBADVTAI!wAh4r8Ssh2es_RhdqrIFQg

There, just dont worry about the tu's in there lol.. also included is the ipod update (there is 3 media files)

Edit 2: also, bitrates and stuff like that, that arent supported, handbreak can convert em.. this is of course that you need to

Edit 3: use 360 content manager to ftp the media update.. i forget where they go hahaha

    Edit 4 (sry lol): http://digiex.net/downloads/download-center-2-0/xbox-360-content/libxenon-homebrew-jtag-reset-glitch-content/3143-xbox-360-optional-media-update-download.html

That tells you specific place to install

    thanks

edit: didn't fix it, still wont play on regular dash video player. I checked and I already had the media update, I deleted it and reuploaded the file just to be sure my original update file wasn't corrupted or something, but still didn't help.

  6. And ill say this again.. maybe its xmplayer causing the issue?? Only copy protection on digital media is cenova or w.e.. lol.. i seriously think that is what is causing this issue.. xmplayer isnt exactly perfect lol.. but op would just need to get the media update to test the same avi throught the default media player..

Edit: and you can also google.. vhs's could give false reports due to the film degrading.. but this type of protection error.. wouldnt come from a digital file.. his recorder is throwing the error, hence why I'm thinking its xmplayer..

Are you referring to the Xbox's Video player on the stock dash? If you are, it gave me error codes, I looked them up and they stated possible unsupported file formats, I tried WMV AVI and MP4 neither played through dashboard video player.. That's why I looked for a homebrew video player and found XMPlayer.

I used QuattroGam3r's suggestion and ran the video through HB, just haven't got it on the USB stick to try it yet. I'll try in a couple hours.

  7. Why would you even want to do this? isn't it easier to just use a PC with PC software to burn the AVI to a DVD?

My VCR/DVD Player/Recorder burns DVD's better than my PC's drive does, I think there is a problem with my DVD burner in the laptop, that's the reason I don't use it..

Run it through handbrake first. Should remove anything in your way.

    Thanks

  8. I'm trying to play a AVI through my Xbox 360 using XMplayer, its working as far as that, But output is using A/V cables to Input on DVD recorder, its giving me a E 25 (copy protected) and wont record. Is there a way to bypass macrovision on the AVI file, so the video going to the DVD recorder will record?

I didn't even know they could have macrovision in anything other than VHS.. I googled XMplayer and macrovision but nothing helpful came up, I did find something involving libxenon and macrovision but didn't get into reading it much.

  9. Ha, nice buddy! Glad you got it figured out. So when you were pushing the reset button before, it was literally doing nothing? You remained "in game?" Well, may your console and ED64plus continue to work as expected!

Yeah, it did nothing at all, did not reset, I thought about putting an actual game cartridge in and trying to reset with that to see if it was the ED64 causing the problem, but I guess I don't need too now. I have a second console that only had a red light and done nothing at all, I could swap that reset switch if I needed too. I hope it continues to work properly for a long time, its a nice device to have, I was tired of playing the games on PC emulators.

  10. You wont believe this, Actually it does work, there is something weird with the reset button, you have to press it at an angle, I guess it was just wore out and not pressing quite right from the top, I got it to reset, then went and checked for saves and it was saving.. So glad it works like its supposed to... XD

  11. I own an everdrive 64 V2.5 by Krikkz. You are most likely experiencing issues because the product that you have is a cheap Chinese knockoff. You are correct in thinking that resetting will save your games, depending on the version you have. The new ED64 V3.0 will save without having to hit the reset button. But I doubt there is any support for your knockoff product. My guess is that it just doesnt work. You can make a post in the forum set up for the everdrive 64. Not sure if I am aloud to link to it or not. But folks there might be of more help.

I've been to Krikkz forum and they do have a forum for the clones, but I haven't asked about the ED64Plus, I may sign up there and see if they are any help. With your experience with the EverDrive, like in QuattroGam3r's response, does the reset button take you to the OS?

Never used one so I can't be too much help other than offer my google-fu. I read a thread that talked about it briefly and mentioned save issues on certain games. It's from '07 but maybe it can help with your issue.

I updated the first post. Looks like the ED64 Plus (at least with my hardware constellation) has problems with games who are using FLASH or EEPROM 64kb as savetype.

You can start and play these games with no problem, but the RESET-Button is NOT taking you back to the OS. And this is necessary to save your gamesave. If this problem can't be solved by changing the hardware constellation (N64 itself, Boot-Cart) or by software (maybe update?), then the following games can (maybe) be played, but you can't save your gamesave:

Games who are using EEPROM 64 kb:

    Banjo-Tooie

    Conker's Bad Fur Day

    Cruis'n World

    Donkey Kong 64

    Excitebike 64

    Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside

    Mario Party 3

    Mario Tennis

    Perfect Dark

    Ridge Racer 64

    Star Wars Episode 1 Racer

    Yoshi's Story

    Games whou are using FLASH:

    Command & Conquer

    Jet Force Gemini Kiosk

    Jet Force Gemini

    Ken Griffey Jr's Slugfest

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, The

    Megaman 64

NBA Courtside 2 featuring Kobe Bryant

    Paper Mario

    Pokémon Puzzle League

    Pokémon Snap

    Pokémon Stadium

    Pokémon Stadium 2

    Starcraft 64

    Tigger's Honey Hunt

    WWF: No Mercy

I've tried 2 games not on that list 1 being Super Mario 64 and the other being Resident Evil 2 neither of those saved.

  12. I recently bought a ED64 Plus, which for anyone who doesn't know is a N64 Cart Rom Emulator of sorts that allows you to play ROM's on the original N64 hardware, I looked online as well as in the manual and it says to save a game you have to hit the reset button on the console to save the game to SD card before you power off, but when I hit reset it doesn't appear to do anything, I power it off and reboot and browse for a save and it says there are no files. Anyone else have a ED64 Plus (not the official EverDrive 64, some people confuse the two, but its an unofficial clone).

  13. Make sure your consoles date is set to today (or atleast this year) then you should be able to login properly...

Thanks for the reply Swizzy, I don't know why I didn't get an email notifying me of your reply.. The date on my console is right I believe, I'll check to be certain, but it didn't happen until after I used the GTA5 trainer, could the trainer have currupt the GTA save?

EDIT: The Clock is set right

  14. I'm really not even sure where to post this, I'm using a GTA5 trainer from XYZmods, and now I cannot load the regular GTA save file whether I use the trainer or not, it tells me to login to be able to load/save and receive acheivments or whatever it says, then it tells me I can't connect to LIVE and asks me if I want to troubleshoot connection, I hit B and it asks me to login again, its like a loop of shit!..lol
