It shouldn't format the whole drive, but to be sure, make a backup of your games...
Personally i use a internal harddrive, and when i used USBMU i had it on a USB Stick, that way nothing should go wrong
Oooh damn. I cant back it up cause the size is too big. I dont have extra 500gb on me. Dang I didnt think it was gonna be risky. And I thought im already done with this problem. Haha.

Yeah, NXE is the Xbox 360 Dashboard...
You go there, go to the right -> (settings), here you locate "Memory", under Memory you'll find the USB Memory Unity or whatever it says, press Y then tell it to remove it... once you've removed it, press the same button again and create a new one... voila!
But wouldnt that format the whole drive? Cause that same drive contains all my games and the FSD so I cant just remove it. Or is there a separate option to remove the USBMU only?
-
The function in FSD is for devices, not actual files/folders
Just go to NXE, remove the USBMU and re-create it, voila! you've got a "formatted USBMU"
Im sorry but what is NXE? I googled it and it says "new xbox experience"? Do you mean the original dashboard? Wat I can just remove the USBMU? And it will automatically have the content folder? How do I recreate MU?
-
The xbox file system doesnt support hidden files, so there is no setting in FSD to show hidden files.
I would use party buffalo to dump the mu information, then recreate the mu and copy the data back with party buffalo.
By dump you mean extract right? Yes i already extracted the important file which is the GTA V installation. Thats the only thing i wanna retrieve.
Thats my problem. How do you recreate the MU? Cause i already deleted that cursed TU. But on fsd, theres still TWO content folders. One capital C, one is not. And theres a game folder there im not sure what game it is.
Is it possible to reformat just the MU? Or should i just delete the other content folder and everythings back to normal?
-
So the folders that were missing are still there ? if so it maybe due to a setting in fsd where you need to show hidden files & folders
Yes. I can see them on party buffalo. But I can't see the tu I downloaded. But on horizon, I ccan only see the tu. On fsd file mmanager, there are TWO content folders. With the same tu on it.
I don't remember fsd having a "shoiw hidden folder" settings though.
For now I'm ok with starting over again with the usbmu. I just wanna figure out why there are two content folders.
What do you mmean? Its probably determined by the system.
-
Thank God for this! I can see the folders on USBMU before when its all normal! But why is it different on file manager on FSD? In fsd it shows TWO content folders. One is is "Content" and one is "content". But two of them they only contain the TU i transferred using Horizon. You can use your Windows PC & Party Buffelo Drive Explorer, to get full access on XTAF Devices on PCs.

I think you didn't make fat32 partition ,, first thing is you need to format your external hdd via gui format tool for fat32
Second thing is you need format via Console for usbmu(I don't knw what's this exact name) it's contain 32GB
So u hav got 32GB for usbmu balance space for usb1
Note :you can see USBMU via horizon and fsd file manager
Note2:
Your windows shows only usb1 (fat32 partition)
Here u can keep your games

Im sure its already formatted. Its my first time trasnferring a TU using horizon on that external HDD. I usually just put DLCs and TUs on a usb thumbdrive.
Im not sure why the other folders would get deleted. I am SO mad right now.
-
I transferred a TU using horizon in my external HDD (where my fsd and my games are). When i access USBMU on file manager of FSD, there are two content folders and the only game id there is the TU i transferred. All the other folders are gone.
Also, how do you access USBMU using a PC anyway? I can only see it on the filemanager of FSD.
Edit: GREAT! Turns out all the data on the USBMU is gone cause when i run GTAV, its not working cause it got deleted on the Content folder! God I hate Alien Isolation this game is the worst game to install.

Run the installer/configurator and press RB until you find a bunch of buttons, one of which says "Unload", highlight it and press A
Ok i unload the dashlaunch. Then quit. It directs to the original xbox dashboard. So i go to xbox guide to go to FSD... But it just hangs there on the guide. Its stuck.
I was thinking I would go to xexmenu cause i can run it on the xbox dashboard... but i remember that alien isnt on the list on xexmenu.
-
What happens if you unload Dashlaunch? does that cause the game to work?
How do you unload the Dashlaunch? Do i just remove the usb thumbdrive where the dashlaunch is?
-
the latest version is 3.12, if you run the 3.12 installer, and it doesnt ask you to update it, then you are using the latest dash launch.
Ok it asked me to update. Turns out im not on the latest.
Thats it? i just clicked ok and its on the latest already? Ok great but when i started the game (alien isolation), it still crashed! Damn i hate this game.
-
The FSD installer doesn't have the latest DL, but older DL versions don't support the latest kernel unless it's one of them patched ones which probably doesn't fully work...
So youre saying my dl is not the latest? Cause i think i directly downloaded the zip file on the latest thread. It didnt come with the fsd tutorial i followed.

Dashlaunch is found in the NAND once installed...To check version you can use the Dashlaunch installer, or Simple 360 NAND Flasher 1.4b for instanceYour edit is incorrect, Dashlaunch consists of 2 major parts;1. There's "lhelper.xex" and "launch.xex" which are included in your nand, this handles booting stuff like FSD directly when booting the console, it also have alot of other features (as you can see in the launch.ini file)2. There's the installer/configurator which is the graphical program you use to edit settings and/or install/upgrade DashlaunchThe way to upgrade dashlaunch is just download the latest Dashlaunch package and run the installer, but... generally, when you want to upgrade dashlaunch you also want to upgrade your kernel, they pretty much go hand-in-hand, so... read a tutorial for updating your kernel, download the latest version of the NAND Builder and you usually get the latest dashlaunch aswell (xeBuild itself doesn't include dashlaunch unless you unpack those files, but if you use xeBuild GUI, JRunner, AutoGG etc. you'll have it included)
So basically, when I run dashlaunch few mmonths ago, it got installed to the nand? I just realized that imm already on the latest dashlaunch cause I installed fsd back in feb I think so its the latest. Nah Its hard to update the kernel on my own. Maybe ill do it once I'm ready.
I don't wanna go that far just to discover that alien isolation will still crash on me.
-
Til now, i still dont know what dashlaunch does. I think I encountered dashlaunch before when i fresh installed FSD.
But now, I wanna see the version of it so I can upgrade it. But i cant see any tuts to upgrade dashlaunch.
They said dashlaunch is just in the FSD folder.. mine is not there. Maybe because i installed dashlaunch via a usb thumbdrive?
edit: what i understand on dashlaunch is... its not a part of your xbox.. Like it only lets you edit the launch.ini file based on the gui of the program. thats it. so i think i only opened it using a usb drive and deleted dashlaunch after installing FSD.
So technically, its not part of the console?

I tri
2 things;
Try to disable contpatch (contpatch=false)
Why are you using devprof? do you have a devkit profile? if not; disable it!I tried to move a new disc 1 to the content folder. still crashes.
-
Never encountered someone from my own country on link before..
-
That'd be cool cause i dont wanna turn on my pc to see whos playing. And my phone isnt even showing the xbox unity site properly unlike the old interface which was better by the way.

I just disabled it using notepad.. Thats the correct way right? I also unchecked the screenshot feature of fsd.. I continued my progress... so far so good.. Then when it come to that one cutscene.. it crashes..

http://shrib.com/launchiniShow me your launch.ini so i can determine what else is a potential problem... or just unload dashlaunch and try to run it...
Thats my launch ini
-
You need to etheir download the installer and remove them from there (and saving the new configuration) or edit the launch.ini with your computer...
Ill just edit the launch ini on my pc.
Ok if it doesnt work.. what else can I do?
-
You disable them by removing all lines starting with plugin#= where # is a number between 1 and 5, followed by rebooting your console...
And yes, launch.ini is a textfile...
Where can i see dashlaunch? And I remove these lines on my console or on my pc?
-
Disable any and all Dashlaunch plugins, maybe show me/us your launch.ini...
How do you disable thsoe plugins? And waiit, dashlaunch has plugins? The launch ini is the text file right? Ill show it when i get home.
-
Well, try deleting all game files from Alien Isolation and reinstall it.. maybe it will solve your problem.
I hope it does. Thanks. What else can I do?
-
It was working flawlessly but when i continued my progress but when it was loading, it crashes.I thought maybe because the disc 1 files are in separate drives. So i downloaded the first file which i accidentally deleted. It still crashed when i continue. Someone said that maybe m game save is corrupt. So i started a new one.. But then it crashed after the 2nd cutscene.. which i already got beyond that part on the first run..What can be the issue here? My dashboard is in 16547 and the minimum is 16537 for the game.
USBMU content folders suddenly gone after transferring a TU using Horizon.
