  1. The problem was the wire between the kinect sensor and the Xbox360, probably a bad connection  or so, I changed the cable to the backside of the box and now the update is running, should it be in the back???

It always worked in the front connector.

Thanks for all the help!!!! Great forum overhere and a lot of patience all the way!!!!

Thanks again and now I can finaly play I think!!!  I tested all and finetuned my kinect it is supurb.

Si next time  the xbox must be disconected from the power for several minutes ( in my case it was a totall day ) then reconect and the update starts and then ofcourse your kinect must be connected with the right wire or on the back as in my case.

    I am very greatfull!

  2. Okay, I bought a new stick today just to try but strange  enough I started tonight with my old stick in and yes there it cam the update!

My avatars are back but my kinect still n eeds an update wich does not come????

I tried with the folders you named in your post on my new stick but all it keeps telling is that it needs an update strange enough all of a sudden in dutch??

I am almost there but pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff the way is hard and long. Any suggestions??

  3. when FSD boots up then press the middle button and go to system settings, this will take you to stock dashboard...then put the USB stick that you formatted (FAT32) into the machine.... you have un-rared it haven't you....and it's still not a zip file (Sorry got to ask..!)

make sure you have spelt it exactly as $$ystemUpdate (capital U)

I only can go to the stock dashboard with the filemanager/flash/default.xex and then I put in the usbstick. It says there is a new harddrive/usbstick and further nothing.

I also have installed dashlaunch ( lates from here )

I do not know what is wrong with it.

I have unzipped the file ofcourse and renamed it exactly like you write it

  4. OK, so you have updated your xell and you have updated your dashlaunch, so download the official system update 16537 and rename the folder to $$ystemUpdate and then put that in your machine and see if that updates....do it in your metro dashboard not FSD.

Okay I downloaded the official systemupdate, I checked again for my current dashboard ( 2.0.16537.0 ) and tried to startup with holding RB to get in the metro dashboard.

i do not get in the metro dashboard it just starts on to freestyle?? then i go to filemanager then to flash and ther I start the dashboars so i am in metro I think.

The usbstick in the machine with the renamed file but no luck? also not with a original kinect game in the the drive . So maybe I should flash again??

or do you have a better solution?

  5. so you created a nand with 16537 and have a freshly formated FAT32 USB stick with it on... and you're booting into xell (using eject) what colour is your xell.....black or blue, this is quite an old post now, I would presume you haven't updated your kernel...what stock dashboard are you on..

Was your answer ment for me?

I think I quoted the wrong post, I ment I have a problem with my avatars and kinetic since the last update I did with rawflash 4 after I had the booting problem.

I think you helped me very good that time

So now I have again a problem but not as serious as the booting problem.

My kinect will not work because it needs an update. My dash is the latest 16537 and I made a fresh fat 32  stick with the update on it.

i tried it in freestyle and in metro but both no succes.

My xell is an older one it is black

  6. Which JTAG/RGH kernel is your console currently running?I'm sure DashLaunch now prevents you from applying a system update newer than the current kernel version.

I tried every possible way to update my console with the tutorial overhere but nothing works, I tried several usb stick a harddisk, metro startup, freestyle etc. It says it need an update for kinect and that is true because it is not working but then the message disapear en the freestyledash starts so no update. I renamed the file wich I downloaded overhere en the dashversion is okay with mine so what can I try to get my kinect working?

I hope someone has a clear answer to my problem.

  7. Okay I try with my laptop wich is windows 7 with your program and let you know what the results are!. I try the whole procedure on my laptop with windows 7 maybe that is the solution but I doubt it.

I let you know in a few minutes, by the way How long does it take to make the updflash.bin with xebuild because  it is going very fast maybe there is the problem?

Okay I tried the whole procedure om my windows  7 machine , so I loaded Xell again on the xbox took the IP saved my flash dump , my cpu key, my fuses and then used that in XEbuild to make an updflash.bin. Then I used your program to format an usb stick saved the updflash.bin to it in the root hanged it on my xbox started it but nope again it says in my screen looking for  xenon.elf blablablabla so something realy is going wrong or my box is dead??? no update, there must be another way???

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, at last, after reading a lot on the internet watched very many youtube  tutorials i decided to use rawflash 4 and put the xenon.elf file of that on my stick together with the renamed flash file from updflash.bin to nandflash.bin and a wonder appeared when I put my usb stick in te xbox 360 It started to update the machine and it started after a reboot with FSD dashboard!!! and all is good PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Thank you all for the help and I hope some people cab use my experience too

Greetings I am gonna fix my settings etc on the box!!

  8. nope. get your USB drive formatted using that tool, use another computer, anything to format it FAT32, windows 8 will only give you NTFS and exfat.....

    EXFAT is not "fat32"

    try attached......

  9. If I use that program an erro occur it says It can not format because the drive is already inuse by another program

however I restarted my computer and used a new stick??

I try it with another parttionmanager thanks fot the idea I hope this wil fix it, I let you know!

Nope, I tried it with my favorit program easeus partition manager but it stays the same.

Something wrong with mXell version on the box?

should I changee somthing in the Xebuild settings?

I do not get an error when it is building the updflash.bin so????

Maybe  I shouls search for some other flash.bin file to use with Xebuild?

I am stuck and my box only give a Xell loader, however it stlll plays muppet 64 the nintendo emulator with xell, lol

  10. not you mate.......

Windows 8 might be formatting it as "exfat32" rather than "true" fat32

download the attached program and try again.

  11. it's updflash.bin (and I'm sure I asked, how are you formatting the stick) which USB slot are you using on the 360? all other drives un-plugged?

I am sorry it is indeed updflash.bin i mis writed that, I format the stick on my windows  8 computer as fat32 I used several sticks also different in capacity and I have used the slots at the backside and on the frontside without any drive plugged in exept for my internal drive. I hope this information is usefull for you.

Thanks for your advise already but unfortunaly until now no luck

  12. There is a tutorial on how to fix this issue

Hello I already asked some advise abour this but unfortunately I did not get a solution yet. I followed the tutorial as place on this forum and after that I used XEbuild to make an updateflash.bin but when I put my fat32 formatted stick in the box Xelloader start but at the and it will not update but starts looking for xenon.el or vmlinux on usb.cd.dvd.

I tried several sticks but no luck.

Is there someone here with the same experience?  pleae help?

  13. try another usb stick, and how are you formatting it.... also have you got "show file extensions" just to make sure the file is not called updflash.bin.bin (worth asking as I've seen it done before)

thanks for your answer , I tried already several sticks and they all worked before my box went black on the xbox, I also run Xell loader from it and yes file extension is on so that is not the problem. i am busy now for several hours I have my flash.bin and my cpukey and I run the latest Xebuild so I do not understand what is wrong.

I have a rgh box version 1.0 trinity. Thanks in advance

  14. great.... :)

Download xeBuild_GUI_2.091, (this version has dash 16537) then from there you can build your image, it's really straight forward, it will build an image for you that you can then put on a formatted FAT32 usb key. (you would put this file on the root of the USB key and then power your machine on with the eject and it should then update xell)

when you open the program, load your source file (your nand) then a little further down you load your CPU key... you should then see all green "ticks" along the bottom of xebuild... (this is the old way to do it but in your case sounds like the best way for now.) if you don't see all green ticks then don't proceed and report back.

Generate your image, this will make a file called "updflash.bin" copy this to a fresh formatted usb FAT32 key, stick it in your xbox and power it on with "eject" let it update.....

let me know how you get on with this..... ;)

I tried this also but when I have the updflash.bin and put this on a fresh FAT32 stick and then put it in my Xbox anstart with eject, Xelload starts and nothing else happens?

I had to do this because my dashlaunch did break my box it wil not boot anymore.

    Do you have another solution?

All the things you say happen in XEbuild and all is green but no updating image.

  15. So you have a console that you have neglected to update in far too long and now a 'certain game' has come out that requires you to be on the latest kernel (dashboard) to play. You have decided to use the new XeBuild update feature but by installing the latest dashlaunch on your very outdated kernel you have caused the console to no longer boot. DON'T WORRY, IT'S NOT BRICKED !!

First thing you need to do is boot the console into XeLL Reloaded, you can do this by powering your console on with the eject button. Once XeLL Reloaded has gone through it's boot process you will see that it lists an IP for your console at the bottom.

Make sure that your console and computer are connected to the same network, open a web browser on your computer and in the address bar type in the xbox's IP address. you will now be greeted with XeLL Reloaded's HTTP interface. In this interface you have the ability to download a full NAND dump directly from your console to your computer and also see your CPU Key displayed for you.

Now you can use these to build an UPDATED working FreeBOOT image with XeBuild or any other of the GUI tools that use XeBuild.

See additional tutorials available on this site for help with building an updated FreeBOOT image.

thanks for this solution but I have a question, I run the latest xell loader and at the and of booting there is networkconfig with an IP but when I put that IP in my browser It wont connect to the webinterface of Xell. The computer and the xbox are on the same network and until a hour ago ( before the dashlaunch update they were both visable). What is wrong? or what am I  doing wrong? Thanks In advance for your advise!

The problem of non connection is solved. the XBOX360 was in wireless connection with my router wich gave a conflict!

I wired it and now there is the web interface so I can go to step 2

    Thanks!
