Have you tried another hard drive?

Dump the NAND image from the console using the client mode "-i" switch and check for bad blocks.

You can find your console's NAND image in the "mydata" folder.

  2.

I think he's talking about using XeBuild mode to manually create an image and then use XeLL or an application like Swizzy's Simple 360 NAND Flasher to write the image to your console's NAND.

What is the issue with UPDSERV?

As long as your console is in the same IP range as your computer, the update mode should work fine.

  3. I've followed the instructions to the letter ( 2 or 3 times now ) but I still keep getting a message saying my PC can't find my xbox :( I've switched off my firewalls etc but still no joy :(Don't know if it's relevant but I'm running windows 7 64 bit ??

Do you see an IP address in FSD?

I'm using Windows 7 x64 as well and this works fine.

You can force XeBuild to use an IP address you specify by using the "-ip <IP goes here>" switch on the command line.

  4. They should put a new NAND image on there for you (16537) and update DashLaunch patches.

I'd be pretty angry if I had paid somebody for a JTAG/RGH modification and they didn't use the latest updates.

I did three RGH installs for a friend using the 16203 dashboard files and a week later, 16537 files were released, so I told my customers how to use UPDSERV to update the dashboard using LAN.

  5. how can I update and backup the current nand that is currently being used (if possible), and I recall having to rename a folder once to $$ystemupdate. After reading the OP many times, I don't see that a rename is necessary. Can anyone be kind enough to explain why?

This new version of XeBuild takes care of everything including reading the NAND, creating a new image, writing it back to the console and even installing system update data (for Avatars and Kinect)!

All you need to do is connect your console to your network and enter one simple command on the command line :).

  6. hey everyone

I just followed this tutorial and it worked fine. Thanks.

One issue Ive had on my console for the past year or so was that there were some weird folders that appeared. They had names like Installer and some others. They didn't look like they were from apps because I never really put much on here (it's a jtagged console)

After the update I tried to go in and see what folders weren't working and erasing them. I clicked on one of them and I was booted to the microsoft dashboard. Now I have no way to get back to freestyle dash. I tried holding the right bumper when the console was booting but that doesn't work for me.

At this point I'm not sure how to get back to the FSD.

Well I managed to get into XEX Menu and from there I can load stuff off of my USB drive. I ran the dashlaunch installer again and I was trying to set up paths. I have no idea what I'm doing or if this will even get my console to boot back into FSD. Should I just reinstall Freestyle dash? Mine is probably outdated anyway.

Use DashLaunch to set paths and enable/disable settings.

Once you are happy with the changes, press RB until you see the menu which lists the hard drive (HDD1) and then press X to save launch.ini to your hard drive (it will overwrite what is already there).

If you set the Default path correctly, you should be greeted with F3 each time you boot the console.

  7. You don't need to remove DashLaunch.

There is no AUD_CLAMP JTAG wiring for Xenon consoles.

If you follow the tutorial correctly, your console will be updated to the latest dashboard version.

DashLaunch doesn't require network or internet access to function.

  8. Why would i want to drop from 1 TB to 32 gigs ? I also keep my games there. (Its already formatted as FAT32 if thats what u mean)

It won't reduce it to 32GB.

It will reserve 32GB on the drive for XBOX 360 storage and the remaining space should still be accessible in Windows.

  9. I am getting this error:

F:FirefoxX-BOX 360xeBuild_1.08>xebuild update -f 16537--------------------------------------------------------------- xeBuild v1.07.632------------------------------------------------------------------- { Update Mode } ----started, watching network for xbox...success, found xbox beacon at 192.168.1.9connected to Corona with updsvr version 1 (peek version 2)**** could not read cf_16537.bin (-1) *********** ERROR: critical bootloader files are missing, cannot proceed!***** FATAL UPDATE ERROR: -1 unable to complete NAND image---------------------------------------------------------------   xeBuild Finished. Have a nice day.---------------------------------------------------------------

Did you put the $SystemUpdate folder in the XeBuild16537 folder?

  10. I did that , update completed successfully, but no avatar data got tranferred!

I have a corona 4GB(internal MU) , with a usb external hdd  (32GB usbmu + 300GB fat32 partition). My profile is on usbmu.

Now im on 16537. How to procede?

System update data will only be installed to HDD1 (an internal HDD) as far as I know.

You can also follow this tutorial to manually install Avatars and Kinect data.

  11. A new image with one of the xexbuilds will for sure. I think the only way you'll get it back from an official update, is by updating the dash with a MS update, which you DO NOT want to do. Fairly certain it's not replaced when you update only the avatar crap.

    You are correct.

He can either build a new image (recommended) or manually put bootanim.xex in the Flash: partition.

  12. if I changed it in the dashlunch but not in the FSD its not effetive right?

I have set the temperature thresholds on my slim with DashLaunch - they are set to 70/70/70, but the room temperature is quite cool most days.

Setting those thresholds in DashLaunch means that the console will try and maintain those temperatures automatically and the fan speed will be altered when it is required.

An alternative to doing this is to set the temperature thresholds with XeBuild before building your image.
