  1. Hello

It is possible with either Aurora or any other app to scan my games and then download the latest TU please? I wrongly assumed this is what the 'Title Update - Scan now' option did in settings until I tried it recently. I think I now understand that this simply scans content and adds any TU found there to Aurora's own title update folder ready for use. Looked as if it only scanned Hdd1 though, so is it not possible for it to also scan externals?

    Thank you

  2. It's not a M$ conspiracy, just a business plan (not just M$) to control, or rather eliminate the used game market. If everything goes digital, once you've finished with a digital game you can't sell like you could with a disc based game, which begs the questions, did you really own it? If you can't sell something you purchased, then you didn't really own it, you merely rented it.

Personally when I purchase something, I always look after it because I know somewhere down the line I will resell it, and therefore it retails a higher resell value. When games go completely digital, along with movies, tv series etc, I will no longer have that option to resell. When you 'purchase' any of these digital products, it depreciates 100% the very instant you click 'buy'. That's insane!

  3. That's the point though, as you NEED the download from Xbox LIVE, MS is therefore trying to control and eliminate the used game market. Surely they could have just used an emulator like the 360 did with Xbox Classic. Sure there will still be those collectors that just must have the disc version as well, but for the most part this solution doesn't help the majority of 360 owners who have been loyal to MS and purchased a One, to play the 360 game they already own. For those that never owned a 360, but have a One and would like to play some old 360 games, they are forced to download from LIVE. Result... diminished used game market.

Once consoles go completely digital, ie no more disc drive, they will 100% own the 'used' game market, if there is still such a thing by then. It's likely by that time they will 'allow' you to sell on your digital game, and of course they will take a nice cut for the 'privileged'. Sucks balls!

  4. Mass Effect 2 in GOD format switching fine for me in Aurora. If needed and you're not so OCD like me where I like to have EVERYTHING within Content folder, you can create 'Game' folder, move disc 2 there and auto swap that way. So then you'll have

    Game/Mass Effect 2/Disc 2

... and that should work. You can keep disc 2 in GOD format no problem, but just means that disc 2 won't show in Merto and therefore won't be able to auto swap that way. And of course you'll have to add path to Aurora and rescan.

  5.

But as far as the scene, that will go on as long as people support it.

Original Xbox being a great example, two of which I still have hooked up in my home. So is backwards compatibility come to the One proper? As in you can put an actual Xbox 360 game in the drive and play it? Last I read which admittedly was some time ago, was that 'backwards compatibility' was coming in the form of the One supporting 360 games that's been downloaded (or maybe it was streamed) from the market place. If this is the case it's not exactly what people want and is not true backwards compatibility in my eyes, but rather another attempt to kill off the used game market even further.

  6. Hello

I wonder if it would be possible to include an option to add games to a series or collection so that those games are sorted into correct release order please? So for example, currently Aurora sorts the following as such...

    Blazing Angels 2 Secret Missions

    Blazing Angels Squadrons Of WWII

    NBA 2K11

    NBA 2K12

    NBA 2K7

    NBA 2K8

    NBA 2K9

If it were possible to add games to like a series or collection and set sort position, then they would be possible to sort in correct release order...

    Blazing Angels Squadrons Of WWII

    Blazing Angels 2 Secret Missions

    NBA 2K7

    NBA 2K8

    NBA 2K9

    NBA 2K11

    NBA 2K12

    Thank you

  7. Hi Swizzy. Yeah I understand the actual folder name is actually numeric, so that's the reason it sorts the way it does, but Aurora does still recognize and identify correct game name from that ID and displays in brackets. No idea how GODspeed does it or if it would take much work; not a big deal but just though I'd add my idea so it's out there. Good for those who have large games collection in GOD format.

    Thank you.

  8. Ah yes sorry I forget that ConnectX is a plugin, therefore of course Metro/NXE will not load this and as such ConnectX will not be listed within settings/storage. As a result it's therefore impossible for ConnectX games and subsequently any DLC to be displayed in Metro. Thankfully I only use ConnectX as like a graveyard of games for game most likely never to play again (old sports game versions and the like), but are still available should I need them.

  9. Hello

Recently I've been using an app called 'GODspeed'. It displays all GOD game folders by actual name of game, and sorts them alphabetically. It's cool how Aurora adds the actual game name in brackets, but would be cooler if it was able to emulate the way GODspeed presents the folders.

So for example currently Aurora's file manger looks like this...

    545107EF [bAJA Edge of Control]

    545407D4 [Amped 3]

Sorted numerically. If it were able to emulate and display folders the way GODspeed does, it would sort folders by game name and in correct alphabetical order...

    Amped 3 [545407D4]

    BAJA Edge of Control [545107EF]

This would make finding the game you are looking for a lot quicker.

    Thank you

  10. If you have FTP setup, I find the easiest way to get ISO installed on to 360 is via ISO2GOD. This will convert the ISO to GOD container and once finished it will automatically FTP game to 360. Even if you don't have FTP setup, you can still use ISO2GOD and then just transfer the output folder to 360 via USB memory stick. As a 'GOD' folder, you'll need to put it in Content/0000000000000000/ then simply rescan and have fun.

  11. Ohhh no. Sorry I have no idea regarding kernel, I'm just the student :)

So I assume then that features Aurora has is restricted by the kernel Microsoft makes? I thought that perhaps ConnectX was just considered another external through some coding trickery by Phoenix?

Not a big issue but I do like to keep all my games/DLC in the one (titleID) folder. It's an OCD thang I'm sure, but I'm determine to keep my new install nice and tidy. Recently had major overhaul, before which my Hdd was so what of a mess.

  12. Yeah make the switch, you won't regret it! I was apprehensive as FSD was great and my philosophy is 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it, because you'll break it'. Thankfully though I didn't break it and Aurora is awesome! As Swizzy said, plenty of great guides on here, and support is just as good should you run in to any problems.

  13. Cool thanks MaesterRowen, I didn't realize I could use LT RT to scroll games within game detail screen; this will certainly speed things up thank you.

QuattroGam3r, I'm already using 'flowcover', so is this the layout you are referring to or does your's make the game box/cover ever bigger? I'm not really looking for a skin, just a layout that will show largest possible cover. The link you posted seems to be for skin only unless I'm mistaken? I never used skin with FSD either so excuse my ignorance.

  14. Sorry for being dim, but can you perhaps explain a little further please? What info am I looking for within Simple 360 NAND Flasher please? And if Simply 360 NAND Flasher has that info, is there any other apps I can use with that info to identify my model? I'm unable to run NANDPro as it needs DlPortIO.dll, which I can't install as port95nt.exe reports it's not compatible with 64-bit version windows.

Surely shouldn't be this difficult?! I did actually identify my model when I first got it and it was a LOT easier than this. I believe I identified via serial (or maybe batch number) against some online database, but just can't for the life of me remember now.

  15. I've recently installed a new internal hard drive and while I do have FSD installed for 360 Content Manager access and such, I was hoping not to scan games in and therefore avoid having duplicate databases with covers/assets etc taking up space. I can confirm however that after finishing installing all my other multi disc games, I found that only a small number would not auto-swap, for whatever reason.

  16. If you decide to do another expansion, you may consider using a meat cleaver that has a curved edge.

By starting at any corner on the opposite side of the usb port.Centre the cleaver & GENTLY (you just need to get a bit of seperation at this point) push into the join, once join is seperated roll the cleaver down the side of the case till you hear the click.Remove cleaver & starting at the cleavers rear edge, place it back in & roll forward a bit at a time till you hear clicks, then either continue rolling forward or as i did slide the cleaver forward while bringing the back edge into the next tight part of the case join & roll forward again,do this till your 3/4 of the way down one side then do the same to the other side.Once both sides are 3/4's popped, just gently grab the open end & pull.It was far easier doing this on this drive which has a tighter lid fit than it did on the older expansion

    edit:

ps:you have my personal gaurantee this method when done correctly will not void your warranty as no damage will be visible & all clips stay intact

pps: good luck getting your money back from me if it doesn't :p

Do you also offer a personal guarantee I get to keep all my fingers?!  :help: I don't mind a few scratches/broken clips and a voided warranty if it means I get to avoid using freaking MEAT CLEAVER, and therefore keep my hands attached to the rest of me!  I fear you and your meat cleaver solve many 'problems' it was never intended to solve?!
