Specht77 0 Posted August 17, 2013 So today I turned my xbox on, and it appeared that there were updates available... I went to the options, and there were 3 updates available, one of each kind, I selected all of them, and pressed to begin downloading... after some time downloading, it automatically went to a black screen with white text (DOS-like) and there was "press Y to begin update" I pressed, then after some seconds it appeared "press any button to restart" and then I pressed, and all I got was a complete black screen... I waited some time, and nothing changed, I went to shower, came back, still black screen, then I pressed the home button, and choose to go to freestyle dashboard, then it went to the original dashboard with an error message like "XBOX couldn't start the game, please download it again" I tried again, same error, then I tried cold boot, turned it all off until the green light on the power supply turned orange, then started it again... Now my xbox always go to the original dashboard, and pressing the home button I don't even have the Freestyle dashboard option... What have I done wrong? What can I do to fix it? JPizzle 0 Posted August 17, 2013 sounds like the download was corrupted and caused a failed update. Download the offline package and just overwrite the mad install.
Specht77 0 Posted August 17, 2013 1) This is a fresh Software package, do not install overtop of your existing FSD.*** WARNING *** IT WILL DELETE YOUR EXISTING DB AND YOUR CONTENT WILL NOT LINE UP PROPERLY. Do I ignore it and install over my corrupted FSD?
Specht77 0 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) I noticed that there was no default.xex on my F3 folder, so I copied the default.xex from the offline package to my F3 folder, and it seems to be working perfectly edit: nah, it wasn't showing the option to go to the freestyle dashboard on the home button, so I copied all the stuff from the offline package... And still don't have the option on the home button, and even putting the default.xex on the dashlaunch, when I do cold boot, it don't boot on F3, I need to go to F3 by xexmenu edit2: ok, the dashlaunch wasn't working because I forgot to save, now it works, but... the option on home button, how do I make that appear again? JPizzle 0 Posted August 19, 2013 you are running the latest default skin but an older version of F3, check for updates. If noting comes up just download the offline package and copy the new files over the old.
