  1. With dashlaunch setup to have "noupdater=true" you'll be unable to update from gamediscs (the console doesn't even know the update is there)

Yes, you can downgrade using both updsrv and a nandflasher, both of them simply overwrite the existing nand data with the NAND built using xeBuild

I really appreciate your work and time, thanks for all your help. Currently I am on Stock Dash and Dash Launch v3.15 is not working on 17489 so I can't change the setting now, I will do it in the new version of Dash Launch. I have only two options left either downgrade my dash to 17349 or wait for updated version of Dash Launch. I have decided to wait for updated version of Dash Launch, till then I will manage with Stock Dash and Xex Menu, my kid usually play games from DVD so there won't be any problem for him as well. Thanks once again

  2. Yeah, they're NEVER forwards compatible, each new kernel requires a new dashlaunch version...

Until there is an official xeBuild release for the new kernel, there's no new dashlaunch (they're always released at the same time)

The best you can do is downgrade to 17349, that's the latest officially supported kernel, and right now there is nothing that requires 17489 other then Xbox Live, which isn't supported by anyone on this site anyways

Yeah you are right, but it was necessary for me to update, I don't get any xbox games (Ofcourse pirated) in my home town so you can't expect any professional who can fix my xbox if anything that might go wrong. I usually visit a city which is some 700kms away from my home town in every 6-8 months for my personal work, so I purchase games and there are few professionals as well who can fix xbox if anything goes wrong. I always update my dashboard to the latest available dash so that I can purchase even the latest games to play. My xbox is also being used by my kid and wife and they know nothing about hacking, dashboard, dashlaunch etc. so to be on the safer side I updated my dashboard to 17489. I can wait for latest dashlaunch till then I am comfortable with stock dash, I didn't want my kid to update my dash from any game DVD and mess my Xbox, otherwise I have to wait for another 7-8 months to get it fixed.

Though I found 17489 files somewhere and I have updated my dash using updserv method but unfortunately it didn't update my avtars and kinect data, I had to do it manually. But in the end my dash is updated with Avtars and Kinect data, I am now waiting for latest Dash Launch which supports 17489.

Can we downgrade the dash by flashing the older dash using NAND flasher?

  3. everything you need (including the system, update) is part of the "files" folder...

There's always a chance of a brick, you won't perma brick it, but you might end up with a console that won't boot... it's happened before, it'll happen again...

You'll have to do that manually, unless you put the full update in the folder as expected

Swizzy bro, thanks you very much I have just updated my dashboard to the latest 17349 it was really the easiest method to update, though it took some time for me to setup things as this was my first attempt, I wanted to be damn sure. I am pretty confused I tried to ping my RGH via lappy but I am not getting any reply from my console. I thought may because I was connected wirelessly, but I couldn't get any reply from ethernet cable as well. Still I went ahead and everything went pic perfect.

Then how would I unbrick it?

I read some replies of this thread some members did get fatal error still their console was booting properly so only I thought.

As I said I've already downloaded system update files from RMS, I'm going to place extracted 17349.zip with all the files, then it should update my kinect and Avtar data as well?

  5. 1. You should download the latest version, which currently is 2.096, anything else will get no support what so ever on this site (well, any custom package that is, you are using a custom one) you can use this method with it's data tho, everything in "files" is xeBuild, which this guide describes...

    2. what do you mean exactly?

    3. Sure, but you're better off downloading it from a safe source such as GXArena (which i maintain btw)

Thank you very much for replying here.

You have already answered my second point in the first point itself, I have downloaded xeBuild_GUI and xeBuild.exe is in the "Files" folder of GUI, so only asked.

I have downloaded xeBuild_v1.15 and xeBuild_GUI_v2.96 from RMS (realmodscene), transfered common files to "Common" folder of xeBuild_v1.15, downloaded 17349.zip for GXArena as well. I am going to try this method on Sunday, currently I have kept my Xbox aside as my kid's exams are going on, lol. I am tempting to do it wirelessly but this is my first time so I would do it via ethernet cable only.

BTW, I don't think there is any chance of getting it brick, as bootloader is going to be the same?

And do I have to update Kinect and Avtar data manually or it would update those as well?

  6. The only new files you need are the new patches which are part of the xeBuild 1.15 release, then you need the System Update which can be found on gxarena

    1. I have downloaded XeBuild_GUI v2.094, can I update using this method with v2.094 (it is based on XeBuild v1.15.709)?

    2. Do I have to use XeBuild.exe of Files folder of GUI?

    3. Can we download system update files from here?

  7. Great work mate, this is just what I was looking for. I am currently on FSD rev735 so I guess I don't need to reset the skin setting or I have to?

Currently at work place, will download it once I get back to home. Keep your good work going.

  8. I am pretty new to FSD recently I have updated my FSD to this version.

I am having few problems with FSD

    1. Can you please tell me how can I update the FSD with the latest version released directly from the FSD ( I mean if I connect my console to net, would it update the FSD? If not, is it possible to update like this?)

    2. How can I play music file directly from FSD, when I short press power button on the controller and go to music play it just reboot the console and I didn't find any other method to play music files directly from FSD. I am continuously getting "Disk Authorization Error" in "Spiderman 3" GOD and the only solution I know is to play a music file.

    3. DVD extractor is not working when I use DVD Extractor to transfer game from DVD to HDD it starts and just hanged, status always shows idle.

    4. Unable to download NXE2GOD game cover from jqe360.com, till now I was trying the same by "Refresh Artwork" after connecting it to net but unable to download the game cover. Now I would try to access the console from PC using console's IP, let see how it goes. I have downloaded all the game covers using "Refresh Artwork".

    5. How can I block all the MS servers so that my console remains safe even if I connected to the net? I don't have "Xbox live" ID and Password as I don't play online games, I use net just to download game covers.

  9. Have you got dashlaunch installed? If so you can configure dashlaunch to boot to NXE by either pressing a button on your control pad or as I do boot to NXE by pressing the power button on your console. The latest Dashlaunch lets you configure the ini. file within the dashlaunch menu. Don't forget to save your .ini file after you make the changes.

    http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/1145-dashlaunch-307/

You can download your NXE2GOD cover using this tutorial:

    http://www.xbox360iso.com/how-add-custom-t584513.html

Be aware that the user and password might not be the same so check yours in Freestyle 3.

Username and password are right as I downloaded all the game cover except for NXE2GOD.

I have two more problems, I am not able to use Xbox's application like music player, I am getting "Disk Authorization Error" and its only solution I know is to play a music file but I can't play music from FSD. If it is possible to play music directly from FSD please let me know how can I do that.

Can you please tell me the location of NXE, so that I can assign some button to boot into NXE?

Secondly I don't know how to use FSD's file manager, I tried to copy paste some files from USB to my HDD but I couldn't finally I had to use XEX Menu 1.2.

And what about the DVD Extractor?

  10. I am facing few problems with FSD,

    1. I am unable to update NXE2GOD cover, tried each and everything, can I download the cover on PC and then transfer it to the XBOX HDD? If yes please tell me can I do that.

    2. Unable to install game from DVD to HDD directly from FSD (DVD Extractor is not working), I have to go to NXE and then install the game and then have to use NXE2GOD to patch it.

    3. Unable to boot my console to NXE using any button, I have to change the default path then only I can see NXE.

    Please help me guys.

  11. Ok Thanks guys, I have downloaded game cover of Spiderman 3. Now I have one more problem, I have already transferred a game (Dirt 3) in my HDD which is GOD format, but it is not showing in the FSD, how can I make it visible in FSD.

I have used BL4K3Y's method to transfer Spiderman 3 to my HDD, I have installed that game from metro dash and then used NXE2GOD to convert that into GOD, but that application only found Spiderman 3 in my HDD, what should I do to make Dirt 3 visible in FSD? Launching it from file manager is very tedious job.

Edit: Ok, almost all my problem is solved, I have changed the game path to "HDD1:Content" and all my problem is solved except for one, NXE2GOD cover is not downloading, I have already tried "Refresh Artwork", set my ID and p/w as well in "Settings>JQE360.com" and I have also seen 4-5 cover on covers.jqe360.com still not downloading.

  12. Have you tried installing the game to your HDD using Metro (I think you press "Y" on the game's tab and select "Install Game" or something)?Once you've done this and it has installed successfully, you will need to run NXE2GOD so that it can be patched and played without the original game disc in the drive.

I had hell lot of problem booting into metro, finally I had to change the settings in the Dashlaunch to boot into the metro, I tried to press "RB" during entire booting process but I still boot into FSD. When I press "Y" in FSD nothing happens.

Now regarding GOD format, as I said I already have a game in GOD format in the HDD but it is not showing in the FSD, I have to launch it from file explorer.

Also address my problem of settings to download Game covers.

  13. Hi guys,

I am a newbie as far as FSD is concerned, I have installed FSD just few days back and I have tried to copy game from DVD to HDD using DVD extractor option of FSD but when I start copying nothing happened and I see "Status: Idle" on the screen.

Secondly doesn't FSD show games already in the HDD in GOD format? I have one game in the HDD but it is not showing in the FSD.

I don't know what I am doing wrong? Please help me guys, if some tutorial is posted just direct me to the proper tutorial.

Also help me download the game covers from the net, I am talking about the settings required to download the covers without fearing for dashboard update. Though I have already updated my Dashboard to 16202.

    For your reference:

    My Dashboard: 16202

    Installed Dashlaunch v3.06
