Title updates being disabled

Recommended Posts

I have several games where the Title Update will not stay enabled. I have the Title Update downloaded and then enabled. I can launch the game and the title update will load. Once I power off and power back on the XBOX 360, the title update will go back to the disabled state. I didn't have this issue under Aurora 0.6.

I have tried deleting the title update and downloading them again but they still won't stay enabled after a reload. I tried downloading the title update to the internal MU, to the internal hard drive or to my external USB hard drive and it makes no difference. The title update will not stay enabled for several games after a reload. Is there someway to make the title update stay enabled for the game upon a reload?

Hey man... That sounds strange.

List the games... Maybe we can help you out.

I'm not part of the dev team,  but maybe the community can lend a helping hand...

@felidayou guys do a lot, soooo, the community should lend a hand here and there with this silly stuff.

I also had this issue, but like felida said, using a fresh "UPDATE" from 0.6b to 0.7b solved it. Which means, I used the updater instead of downloading and placing it in the root manually. It then pulled all the old information just like a Windows update would. It took 15minutes and I was good to go.

I then downloaded the updates from scratch and BAM!!! I was golden.

Give it a try.

Well, I tried to do some troubleshooting. I noticed that every title update was getting disabled. I then looked at the Aurora data directory and noticed the titleupdates subdirectory. So I deleted everything in that subdirectory, then for a few titles I deleted any title updates shown and downloaded them again. It still had an issue with disabling the title updates after a reload.

Now I have created a new Aurora 0.7 directory and started fresh. It appears to have solved the issue to have a clean install of Aurora. A bit of a pain to set everything back up again and go through all the content downloading but hopefully the title update issue will not reoccur. Funny thing it seemed to happen right after I installed Assassin's Creed III and had an issue with the title update #8 and had to revert back to title update #7. I wonder if a bad title update caused the whole issue. I also recently updated to Aurora 0.7 from 0.6 around the same time so I can't tell which one caused it.

There have been reported issues with both fresh/updater installs, so it is kinda hard to figure out exactly.. But more people seem to have issues after using the built in updater more than fresh installs..

Well, back to the same issue again with the Title updates not staying enabled. Not sure what to do now. I guess I will try yet another fresh install and limit what title updates I enable. Maybe it has to do with the amount of enabled title updates or something.

Hmm. If you still have problem can you tell us where you put your Aurora folders?

On HDD or USB ?

Did you try to check health of your HDD ?

I put the Aurora folder on the HDD (\Xbox360\System\Hdd1\Aurora).

After starting fresh again, I noticed that Aurora was finding two Title Updates on its own. I tracked down those two title updates and removed them from the respective sub-directory under the "content" directory on the HDD. I installed Aurora fresh again. For now the Title Updates are installing and enabling. I will limit the amount of them I download as I am not sure if there is some strange upper limit to how many can be downloaded and installed. For some reason, I think it might be related to the Assassin's Creed III TU as it seemed to occur around the time I downloaded and enabled it.

I have not done a health check of the HDD. I believe to do this I would need to remove the HDD from the XBOX 360, remove the cover and then use an adapter to connect it to a computer, right?
