Using a 4 TB external drive?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone used a 4 TB external hard drive? I partitioned my 4TB into two Fat32 2 TB drives and it is not recognised. Is it even possible to format the full 4TB as Fat32?

The Xbox 360 is only able to recognize ( primary ) maximum 2TB partitions. Some Sata/USB controller could also cause problems with in connection with Xbox 360.

It should. Some external Hdd (USB/SATA controller) get in trouble with Xbox 360, but the most are running without any problems.

According to this statement from Seagate blog their series of gaming hard drive for Xbox (a normal USB disk with an Xbox logo on it) are compatible with Xbox 360 and Xbox one and come in 2 and 4 tb size so, there should be an easy way to make a 4tb hdd work as an external drive with an Xbox 360.

"With up to 4TB of storage gamers can free up space on the console’s internal drive while consolidating 100+ Xbox One games.** Game Drive for Xbox is compatible with both Xbox One and Xbox 360, and plugs directly into any USB port on the console."

Of course you can use a 4 TB Hdd on your Xbox 360, This does not change the fact that you can only access (max) 2 TB of hdd space with your Xbox 360.

You donr realize that "up to" part, and ofc their hdds work with 360, just up to 2tb.. you can use 2 2tb hdds.. and achieve the 4tb
