Minecraft crashing

Recommended Posts

I am trying to get minecraft to work with Aurora 0.5b without any success. When I try to load minecraft, the Xbox will reboot right before the game goes to the menu.

When I go to the Microsoft dash after Aurora 0.5b loads and try to play minecraft, it seems that it gets a little bit further but still causes the Xbox to reboot.

When I start the Xbox without the USB drive plugged-in (that is where Aurora is loading from) and start minecraft from the Xbox dash, it is working fine.

All of my other XBLA games work fine from Aurora.

Xbox info:

Type: Trinity Retail

Dashboard: 2.0.16767.0

DashLaunch Version: 3.12 (548)

Thank you for all your help.

Update your kernel, and test if the latest TU is working for you...

If you have "acquired" your dlc from non official places, there was a dlc released by a certain group that causes this crash.

I suggest that you remove all your DLC and re add them one at a time until you find the offfending file, and, also make sure you are using the very latest TU as only this one supports the latest DLC.

Swizzy,

First, thank you for the wonderful guide on how to update my kernel/dashboard. I am now running on the latest Kernel/dashboard.

Second, Minecraft still crashing after the update. I have installed the latest TU using Auror 0.5b and applied it. When I start the game from Aurora, it start to load and but it just stays on the Aurora game selection screen.

When I try it from the XNE dash and the USB drive is connected, Minecraft start to load and then the console soft reboot. (same behavior as prior to the update)

Any other thing that may cause this weird issue?

Thanks,

Tal.

Nikeymikey,

I only have minecraft DLC added after my console was RGH'ed. I guess I can remove all DLC that I own and see if that fixes the issue.

What is the best way to delete the DLCs? Just FTP to the xbox and move everything out of the content folder and add one at a time?

Go to the game in Aurora and press Y. You'll find a bunch of selections on the left. When you come across DLC, press A. You can delete from there. I would recommend you back up your DLC before deleting it though, in case you want to reinstall it. You can either do that from the file manager or FTP.

Swizzy,

Sorry for the late response but I am still unable to get Minecraft to work. Here are the steps I did:

1)I have deleted the 584111F7 from the content folder on the hard drive.

2) I have extracted the disc version of minecraft to my USB drive using FSD3

3) I have copied the latest TU that you uploaded to the $TitleUpdate\584111F7 on the USB0 location (where FSD3 extracted the ISO)

4) I have loaded the game using Aurora and when I click the Xbox button on the controller, it shows that it has TU0

When I try look at TU using Aurora, it does not list any TU for me to select.

Do I need to create the 584111F7 folder under the content directory and copy the TU to it? (under the folder Content\0000000000000000\584111F7\000D0000?)  Do I need to copy anything else under the Content\0000000000000000\584111F7\000D0000?

Thank you for all your help.

Ok... do this:

Step 1. Delete your extracted minecraft

Step 2. Copy ONLY the Content folder from the disc, the rest of the files are useless... you want it to be on HDD1:\Content\000...0\584111F7\<a folder here which i don't remember the name of right now>\GameFile

Step 3. Copy the TU to this location, the folder structure in the one i uploaded has everything from HDD1:\Content\000...0\

Step 4. Run the game, if it's still showing you TU0 or crashing, run XM360 and unlock the minecraft package

Swizzy,

Tried as you suggested and still crashing. I am also unable to see any TU in Aurora.

If I boot the 360 without the drive and it loads to the original 360 dash and I launch the game from there, it is working without any issues.

Any other tricks in your bag?

I had a problem like this when i changed the fake live to enabled, it always crash when I do this, so the solution for me was to disable the fakelive. I recommend for you to go to dashlaunch and disable the fakelive. Try this, good luck!

Thank you ianvitor65, that seems to do the trick.

Just to be safe, I also removed all my paths in Aurora and re-added each one of them one at a time and Minecraft still working. I was also able to select TU36 after doing that.

Thank you all for all you help. Now my kids can find something else to bug me about :-)
