MaesterRowen 14 Posted May 10, 2015 Yes, that will still happen.
gavin_darkglider 1562 Posted May 10, 2015 They are changing how nova communicates to the server, in anticipation of problems like this, and in anticipation of the Link community growing when xbox live is cut off for the 360 next year, but if you actually read the teaser thread all the way through, you would know that already, this does not effect the way system link works game to game though. There was a big post from MaesterRowen about this, when he said that Link V1, which will be shut down with the release of Nova(So FSD link will no longer work) currently does all of its communication via http, where with Link V2 nova will have a constant 1 to 1 connection with the server. This will allow for many more features like chatting with chatpads/keyboards, Friend online notifications, Link Private messaging, etc. Some of these features are speculation, but if there are enough resources I would expect most of them. Now go read all the thread, and answer your own questions. Also on another note, you should have posted your question there!

I'd guess there will be a deluge in demand for hacked consoles once the one reason for not getting RGH is removed. Will also put those idiots over at XBLE out of business. Sounds like a win-win for the scene.

Microsoft is not going to support Xbox 360 after 2016, or atleast no new games are coming for it after that... or so they said... a while back... but that doesn't mean they're gonna close XBL for Xbox 360 at that point...

Yeah, after the original xbox support ended, the live servers were shut down slowly, the final game to loose support was halo2, and the server for that only lasted as long as it did, because 1 guy refused to turn off his xbox. Then the power went out at his house, and the moment microsoft realized there was no one connected to the halo 2 server any more they pulled the plug on it. They also left the OG xbox servers running for a while because of reverse compatibility, for the OG games, this feature isnt included with the XBone, and that means when they pull support for the 360 they wont really have a reason to keep the servers going.
