thirst4may 6 Posted February 28, 2015 Using FSD 3.0b 775. I have several multi-disc games (Shadows of Mordor, Watchdogs, etc) that I need to install to my internal HD using FSD's DVD Extract tool. With Shadows of Mordor, I tried extracting Disc 1 to "Hdd1:\Games\Shadows of Mordor" then Disc 2 to same location. Game loaded fine, but got stuck at switch to disc 2. I tried again this time extracting Disc 1 to "Hdd:\Games\Shadows of Mordor\Disc 1" and Disc 2 to "Disc 2". Game does not run. Help please! P.S. Also why is it that some DVD Extracted games will fatally crash but some downloaded ISOs will work fine?
gavin_darkglider 1562 Posted February 28, 2015 remove the space, so disc1, disc2, disc3, etc. With multi disk games you have to use the file manager, as the extract function doesnt have an option for multi disc games. Also make sure you dont have swap.xex as a plugin, as this will messs with the FSD swap feature. Good Luck:)

So re-extracted the game discs and used FTP to structure the folders as "Hdd1:\Games\Shadows of Mordor\disc1" and "disc2". Both shows up in my game library. So far so good. I ran disc1, it prompted me to install, and I did. It asked to put in disc2, and I was under the impression that fsd did this automatically? It did not . Under launch.ini it says not to enable swap if in FSD because its already enabled.

frayed 33 Posted February 28, 2015 with a multi disc game you can always search google with the search term "jtag install (gamename)" same games are as easy as DISC 1 and DISC 2, others are DISC # and content from other disc to internal hdd, others require you to run the disc to install content i tried it once for you with shadow of mordor so you can see how easy it is if you need help in the future
thirst4may 6 Posted February 28, 2015 "Disc 1" / "Disc 2" "disc1" / "disc2" "disk1" / "disk2" None of them work . It all gets picked up on scan, but does not auto swap. Help .

However those link direct me to structure folders as "Disc 1" and "Disc 2" and neither worked, as my first post says.

thirst4may 6 Posted March 1, 2015 do you have swap.xex loaded as a plugin, or any other plugins loaded? This is where my inexperience show. I don't know. According to the web interface, it says I'm running "Plugin Version: 3.0b Rev801" but no idea about swap.xex. I keep reading its included in FSD 3, but I can't find anything about it. Thank you so much for the help so far.
gavin_darkglider 1562 Posted March 1, 2015 Just post a copy of your launch.ini, as this is where other plugins are loaded. Some of them mess up the freestyle plugin, or fight it for control.
scorpNZ 207 Posted March 1, 2015 Different games require different methods of install depending on when the game maker made changes to circumvent your pirating,it's working well it seems Everyone assumes your on the latest dash are you ? inc dashlaunch crashing could be anything so is it installed correctly or refer you back to above question mordor install in link it does work as i've done it so from memory place in Games folder in root of hdd then use fsd scan function so they both show up go to coverflow & start D1 this will install required content play game when done webpage should show dash ver required to play http://www.xpgamesaves.com/topic/114015-tutorial-middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor-installation/ watchdogs install or search youtube http://www.xpgamesaves.com/topic/104708-tutorial-watch-dogs-installation/

gavin_darkglider 1562 Posted March 1, 2015 if I had to take a guess one of these is causing the problem. [Plugins]plugin1 = Hdd:\xbdm.xexplugin2 = Hdd:\XRPC.xexplugin3 = Hdd:\RPC.xexplugin4 =plugin5 = I would remove all plugins. Also should be mentioned that RPC.xex, and XRPC.xex basically do the same thing. None of those plugins are needed, unless you are using non aurora trainers. Xbdm.xex is also for trainers, and is for using xdk utilitys like Xbox Neighborhood. If you are using trainers, I would look into switching to aurora, which has a built in trainer manager, and does not require these plugins to be loaded. Swizzy 2083 Posted March 1, 2015 XBDM is causing the problem, it's a known plugin to cause issues with FSD
thirst4may 6 Posted March 2, 2015 I don't use any trainers. I wasn't the one who installed FSD on this machine. Should I just edit the launch.ini or remove the files from FTP?

Swizzy 2083 Posted March 2, 2015 just remove the lines from the launch.ini or delete the files, either one solves the problem
