sandeman11 2 Posted March 17, 2013 You need to run the official 16203 system update. I posted a tutorial here. Oke thanks!
sandeman11 2 Posted March 17, 2013 i was close to giving up... couldnt find the SysExt folder. Till i see the posting from JPizzle: go into metro and then place the USB in. I did and it worked, thank you so much. I am stoked!! (that my kids not gonna kill me now)
sandeman11 2 Posted March 17, 2013 last question (i think) i keep getting the "update" question. I think my kids will accept and ruin the 360. How to avoid that? But upgrading to 16203, is that possible with the 2.0.16202.0 kernel ?
BL4K3Y 96 Posted March 17, 2013 Why are you running a 16203 update on a console running dashboard version 16202? More to the point, why didn't you build a 16203 JTAG/glitch image?
sandeman11 2 Posted March 17, 2013 Why are you running a 16203 update on a console running dashboard version 16202? More to the point, why didn't you build a 16203 JTAG/glitch image? You told me to, a couple of posting ago? You need to run the official 16203 system update.
sandeman11 2 Posted March 17, 2013 can i fix this? i think i am on the 16202, not sure anymore :blushing: dont understand your question: more to the point, why didn't you build a 16203 JTAG/glitch image? (really confused now)
JPizzle 0 Posted March 17, 2013 create a new NAND image with the latest dashboard (16203) and then run the update
sandeman11 2 Posted March 17, 2013 oke, but what did i do wrong? (just want to understand) did i install the wrong dash / avatar update? Can i check which version i did install? but if i accept the update that would be bad (right?)
JPizzle 0 Posted March 17, 2013 You built an image with the 16202 dashboard and then ran the update for 16203, you need to always be sure that you are running the correct update for your dash version.
sandeman11 2 Posted March 17, 2013 i still have the orig_nand.bin, is it wise to start over again (after making sure i have the 16202 dash/avatar)
JPizzle 0 Posted March 17, 2013 I would use the original and create a 16203 image
sandeman11 2 Posted March 17, 2013 oke JPizzle. Please forgive my noobquestions, getting really embarrassing. what do you mean by creating a 16203 image? In what stage do i do that?
JPizzle 0 Posted March 17, 2013 4)Place the USB stick back into your PC and go back to XeBuild. Select the source file as the Nand Dump you just created. For the output file, select your USB drive and save it as updflash.bin or nandflash.bin either will work, just use something you know is the newly created file.Select what dashboard you want to use, I would suggest the most current one available. Do you mean the kernelversion?

JPizzle 0 Posted March 19, 2013 if it's not available then you are using an old version of the software.
sandeman11 2 Posted March 19, 2013 oke, thats seems to be my problem. I was using xeBuild GUI 2.088 because the version in first post did not work for me, in version 2.0 the latest version is 16.202 the latest Just installed the latest Gui (2.09) and thats one supports the 16203
sandeman11 2 Posted March 19, 2013 well done done and done. Final question (again ) after update dash-update to 16203 i get the following message: Update required. To use this device, an update must be applied. If you accept this update and are playing a game, you'll lose any unsaved progress etc etc. i assume its the update for the Kinect, is it save to apply it?
