BloodThirst 1 Posted January 10, 2014 I have 2 HDD'S outside the xbox (using USB). And when I start the xbox with both of the HDD'S in, it takes him about 10 minutes to go from the xbox boot logo to the dashboard. Is it because I have 2HDD'S attached to the xbox? Is it because I have 2HDD'S attached to the xbox? It's most likely caused by the harddrives beeing slow with their initalization, once they're done with their initial stuff (telling the xbox how to use them) they're scanned for $SystemUpdate in the root, this may take a while if you have ALOT of files/folders and/or if the harddrives are slow... BloodThirst 1 Posted January 11, 2014 If it goes right to the dash with them disconnected then yes :)Sent from my LG-L38C using Tapatalk 2 I have a lot of pop in in games and things like texture taking time to load (like in LA NOIRE if I drive in a neighberhood the wall will be flat and after 5 seconds it starts to load the texture of the wall and also things like when there's a cutsence you suddenly see a random object pop in the game or dissappear the 2 HDD'S cause this? Swizzy 2083 Posted January 11, 2014 That would likely be caused by your harddrives not beeing able to send the data fast enough yes... Most harddrives aren't that slow tho, so i'd recommend you check them with your PC, check the health status and perhaps do a defrag on 'em once to see if there's any improvements... BloodThirst 1 Posted January 12, 2014 so i'd recommend you check them with your PC, check the health status and perhaps do a defrag on 'em once to see if there's any improvements... How do I do that? EDIT: I am doing it right now but it wont delete all the games in the HDD?
Swizzy 2083 Posted January 12, 2014 using the built in windows feature to check harddrives doesn't delete anything from it... i cannot promise anything for other software... i'd also recommend that you check the hdd with something like crystal disk info ( http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html )

Swizzy 2083 Posted January 12, 2014 I am doing a defrag for the past 2 hours and it stuck in 2%........When you do defrag a harddrive it can take a VERY long time depending on how fragmented the files on it are (how many peices of the data is scattered around the harddrive) and also how many files/how big files you have...So it's kinda normal that it gets stuck every now and then...
