I'm not sure what you mean by having the same ip range.

I can have both my xbox and laptop connected to my router if that works? Or I can have the laptop using wireless internet and connect to the xbox with lan cable.

i have this error too.I trying setup on xbox/pc connections(192.168.1.1/2 ; 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1 etc. ), but i have this error again.Usually i use wifi router, but i tried using lan

I followed all the steps correctly and when i run this command: xebuild update -f 16537

this is the error I'm getting:

just turn off the firewall in OS and in router

find the option in both places and turn them off

if it did not work try enabling PNP in router

I'm getting an error too, but different to everyone else's..

 

**** could not read cf_16537.bin (-1) ****

bootloader files are missing.

 

 

I've followed the instructions and placed the files where they should be, so I'm stumped

both locally connected to router thru cable firewall disabled

maybe i am missing something at router settings

set your xbox ip (192.168.1.98, 255.255.255.0 , and getway 192.168.1.1)and on pc (192.168.1.20,255.255.0,and getway 192.168.1.1)must connecto xbox to pc via wired lan

Finally Done

for anyone facing this error

            update console patches and reboot before trying again.

 

just run this command instead:

xebuild.exe client -p

which will update the HV for you

then shutdown and goto dashlauch again and enable updsrv

and run 

xebuild update -f 16537

now it should work flawlessly

great feature guys! works amazing!

a note to parallel users, it seems as though updserv function will not work when running your VM in a bridged network. it will not locate the xbox. simply setting the network to shared (so it uses the same ip as your osx host) will fix the issue.

My xbox in the same network with pc (192.168.1.0/24)

pc: 192.168.1.2

xbox:192.168.1.11

I can ftp to xbox while DL launched, but cant update
