  1. Battlefield Hardline and Alien Isolation are the same way, I did a bunch as GOD and now as I go back to test run the game I'm realizing that most of the multidisc games I converted should've been extracted (At least the content folder of disc 1) Live and learn I guess....
  2. I thought as much... It has the current kernel 17150 =\ Looks like I'll just have to wait until I get the modding parts to fully fix the drive, I am happy that at least its reading discs again though.
  3. Since replacing the laser the drive now reads discs however it won't play games. Its acting as though the DVD Keys don't match with the "Insert this game into an xbox 360" Message. Now I'm really confused since everywhere I've read on the TX forums Falcons did not ship with MS25 drives...... I'm going to RGH this console so I can at least dump the DVD key from the mobo NAND. Any ideas as to an alternative method of doing this other than glitching the board to run Xell?
  4. lol wow, Now I really feel like an ass hahaha! Thanks man, will keep the misc filters section in mind.
  5. The only thing I can see that it lacks other than LiNK supported games filter is that genre isnt supported by xbox classic titles.
  6. I know this is no easy task but having the Games, XBLA, Homebrew, Xbox Classic, and Emulators section with a fifth category that holds LiNK supported games would be awesome. In those categories having Game Genre and a search feature would also be nice. Its a databasing nightmare but I think it would make the overall accessibility of the software much much more enjoyable! A very low priority indeed but I think it should be considered as a future project when the more important things are completed. I do understand the filters in the programs displayed menu but incorporating the search function by genre and LiNK support would be really awesome! *EDIT* nevermind, I just found the genres filter...... =\ please delete this post.
  7. WIsh this had been posted a few months ago, could've saved me the wait on getting my stuff imported from Australia.
  8. From what I gather no Falcons came with ms25, I got two parted out and weathered phats, one's a Xenon and the other is a Falcon. the Xenon has RRoD and the Falcon just doesnt read discs. The drives in the box are a Lite-On and a ms25. From doing research I found out the drive most likely used for the falcon is the Lite-on but I won't know for sure until after I RGH it. They're both stock just owned by someone who should've never touched them when they originally broke. He did the hot towel trick to the Xenon so I'm sure I'm going to have to reball that one and originally, this Falcon only had the eject error issue which I did fix but it still won't read a disc for either of the drives. I know if its the wrong DVD key it will still play a DVD and if its a game it will read and ask to play in an xbox 360. The Falcon does neither...
  9. Such as? Please don't tell me that the tvaddons.ag repo isn't compatible.... That could make a man cry.
  10. Ahh we share similar points of view except mine deal with Network equipment and computer repairs but the axiom is the same I believe.
  11. My WD Passport 2TB usb 3 has no compatibility issues at all. I use this device for my 360 and it is even backwards compatible with XP SP1. The only thing that you have to do for it for 360 compatibility is wipe its GPT NTFS partition with gParted off a linux live disc and create an MS-DOS partition table then format it as FAT32. I figure if people can manage learning how to glitch their equipment and do firmware writes then they should be able to navigate a partition manager like gParted or Parted Magic. The 97.3MBps transfer rate I'm getting from copying my games from my main computer to this drive isn't theoretical, access time on the xbox itself won't be usb3.0, true; however, moving the data to the drive as a much faster alternative to ftp or convention usb 2.0 will. **EDIT** Sometimes those portable drives will even have a GPT FAT32 partition on them.
  12. If it's for a secondary external device I suggest the Western Digital Passport 2TB USB 3.0 drive. That's what I use as a secondary and the write speeds are AWESOME! I don't use FTP for that drive as its much more efficient to do it directly connected into my PC. For internal I use a Western Digital Blue 500GB laptop drive that has been hacked with the security sector.(You don't have to hack the external drive)
  13. Okay, so when I first got this nightmare of a device. it had been siitting in pieces in a box with a xenon gathering rust on the shield. Everything was taken apart by someone who should NEVER work on electronics... Originally I had thought that the drive that it used was as Toshiba Samsung ms25 and after some painstaking research it turned out that it was the lite-on drive that I thought went with the xenon. Got it all assembled properly and on POST the DVD eject problem started happening so I went through the list of things to address the problem to no avail. It wasn't until I came across an article suggesting an alternate solder point to fix the open tray error It did fix the open drive error but the drive still won't properly read a game or dvd (even after a POT adjust on the laser) any suggestions would be welcome as I'd like to fix and sell it but right about now I'm strongly considering the internal hard drive hack and selling the DVD's for parts Attached is a picture of where the wire is to be soldered, this forum doesnt like the image extension I'm trying to embed from Team Xecuter
  14. It really depends as to what his listing said when you made the purchase as to whether or not you can win a paypal dispute on the item.Offhand I don't know if there's GPU damage to the xbox in question or if its your tv. If the device still works you might want to consider reballing it if you have the equipment, but before you make that decision I'd test it out on other tv's to see if the problem can be replicated. Also, the issue you're having might be why he reflowed it in the first place. No one EVER does a preventative reflow, solder doesnt work that way, it's either connected or its not, there's never a reason to remelt solder that has a connection unless you're doing a reball and removing the silver solder and replacing it with the lead-based kind so that RRoD doesnt happen.
  15. I think you got lied to, if the x-clamp has been modded with bolts or the stupid penny trick then it most certainly had RRoD before and was fixed by someone who should've done a reball to it. Those mods can seriously damage the GPU and will almost always eventually cause a re-occurrence of a cold solder joint on the board.
  16. Okay, so it just seems like a longer boot time because by removing the bootanim you have that wait time, plus however long it takes for dashlaunch to autorun fakeanim? If thats the case then it seems to me that the eye candy isn't worth the increased boot time, that or I didn't calibrate mine correctly when I first ran it. I'll just default fakeanim and try for a recalibration then.
  17. =\ okay..... would be nice though to just have it replace bootanim without adding the lag while the firmware looks for bootanim to load. hmm..... Maybe edit the bootstrap to prevent it from searching for bootanim? That'd speed up the POST of the device I think. I'm not a coder but if can be set as null that'd be awesome. From what I'm understanding the delay on the POST is being caused by a timeout by the flash looking for bootanim correct? if that execution code can be null set then would'nt it just boot normally without having to wait for the timeout?
  18. Here's a question, is it possible to use xebuild to have fakeanim renamed as bootanim without breaking it and writing it to flash so that there's no delay on the boot? I havent tried it yet but the thought just occured to me
  19. I've got it set @50C now in Dashlaunch, thanks!
  20. As in FSD, having fanspeed control would be nice to keep the chip running under 78C, I noticed with FSD I could get it as low as 45C even after playing a game like Assassins creed. ###UPDATE### I just read page two of the original thread and I see that this has already been requested and that the Dashlaunch temperature threshold was given as an answer, I apologize. =\
  21. Here's something I made earlier today that's a sample from a demoscene video awhile ago for an oldschool warez group. ENJOY! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfWzyV3icpo&feature=youtu.be Fairlight Boot Screen-1.wmv
  22. Thats my plan at least, I've been looking at a Matricom G-Box Q http://matricom.net/product_page/g-box-q/ for $109 to run Kodi off of. It's a beautiful piece of equipment!
  23. Thats mighty nice of you supplying a community key I'll add the firmwares to my archive.
  24. From what I understand PPC builds were abandoned as Kodi is dependant on OpenGL for its rendering but that issue was with the 1.8Ghz chips that Apple was using, Isn't ours 3Ghz? I'd love to see a 360 kodi port since I use it with my DLNA server using Kodibuntu in the living room and I run it for the addons on my main comp. To be able to just have it AIO with my xbox would be pretty awesome but I agree, if it does happen it'll be full of bugs unless a git is started with Team Kodi's support I think. =\
